It is designed for purebred dogs of any breed and for owners who want to learn more, and participating dogs should have basic obedience skills. The session covers how to present your dog in a stack and on the move, etiquette for the ring, handling approaches tailored to each breed, and how to get ready for shows. Along the way, it can strengthen the bond between handler and dog, provide valuable socialization in new settings, build confidence, and deepen understanding of a breed’s history and standards. There is no formal registration for the upcoming class, but an RSVP is requested for head count. The fee is $10 cash, and space is limited.

Led by Keys to Change, Project Connect brings together a broad network of providers at Trinity Mennonite Church to offer immediate, in one place support for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of it. Guests can access housing and shelter resources, apply for Medicaid and nutrition assistance, receive clothing and meals, explore substance use treatment options, prepare for employment, get help with Social Security needs, and connect with mental health support, along with additional services available on site. Volunteers play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly by welcoming guests, guiding check-in and navigation, distributing meals and supplies, assisting provider teams, helping with setup and teardown, and creating a respectful, supportive atmosphere so attendees can more easily reach the help they need.

Arizona Prison Stops Nothing is planning its first park gathering for families affected by incarceration, with a focus on connection, play, and support. The day will feature a memory table where families can make matching bracelets in honor of their loved ones, face painting, a bounce house and play area, arts and crafts with coloring projects, a photo booth for keepsake pictures, and a message wall and ribbon tree for notes to loved ones. Families can also enjoy relay and sack races, a kids reading corner with storytime, and a food and refreshment area. A 50/50 raffle and a basket auction will help raise funds for families in need, and resource and information booths will connect attendees with support and advocacy services. Volunteers are needed to set up activity areas, help children with crafts, run games and activities, assist with food and drinks, support the raffle and auction, and provide general event assistance. The goal is to bring families together, uplift children, honor those who are incarcerated, and strengthen community ties. Those interested in volunteering, donating supplies, creating auction baskets, or hosting a booth are invited to contact the organizers.
