Open Shoot
Enjoy an open shooting session. This is public or member-accessible range time where you can shoot at your own pace without the structure of a formal competition. Be sure to bring your firearm(s) and ammunition, targets, and eye and ear protection. Remember to follow all posted range rules and range officer instructions. Also, cease fire when called and immediately make your firearm safe, clean up your brass and targets when finished, and be courteous to other shooters. Contact Juneau Gun Club for hours, lane availability, guest fees, and any firearm restrictions.
Juneau Gun ClubClay Hand Building
A beginner adult pottery class offers a hands-on introduction to clay hand building for anyone curious to try something new, with no prior experience needed. Participants learn essential techniques, then design and create a unique piece using the clay provided, with guidance available throughout in a relaxed, creative setting. The class includes 2 pounds of clay, beginner-friendly instruction, and the freedom to shape an original design. Afterward, each piece remains for about two weeks for a bisque firing. Participants return to paint and add color, then the work is glazed and fired again for a polished finish. A text message will notify when the piece is ready for pickup. Cost is $40 total plus CBJ sales tax. Space is limited to 15 and a reservation is required, which is completed by purchasing the clay on the organizer’s website.
