A benefit 8-ball tournament supports Megan and helps cover medical expenses. Matches follow BCA rules with a race-to-two format on each side. Entry is $20. Half of every entry goes directly toward Megan’s medical bills, and the remainder, along with the Calcutta, funds tournament payouts. Additional ways to contribute include a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction. The dart community rallied for Megan in a big way, and the goal is to see if the pool community can surpass that effort. 48 State Tour! Wheeling

At Peninsula Cemetery in Wheeling, WV, this stop on the 48 State Tour offers a free, public, hands-on day focused on historic cemetery care, co-hosted by Ohio County (WV) Cemeteries Foundation Inc. The program begins with a friendly introduction to preservation, followed by a brief walk-and-talk that highlights notable gravestones and monuments in need of attention. Participants learn safe, effective cleaning methods using approved products, along with guidance on removing biological growth and addressing graffiti, then put those skills into practice by adopting a stone and completing the cleaning process themselves. Common repair approaches are demonstrated and discussed, including how to reset a leaning or sunken tablet and how to rejoin broken fragments with epoxy, clamps, and proper bracing. If time permits, the team may set up an overhead lifting tripod to show safe rigging and lifting techniques, and may also review the materials and steps for replacing missing or eroded stone with infill mortars, from preparation through application and curing. Attendees are encouraged to bring water, snacks, and any personal essentials such as a chair, hat, or sunscreen. Longtime educator Pete Chacalos visits Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library to talk about his new coffee table book on Wheeling Park High School football. Spanning the program’s origins in 1976 through the 2025 season, the book is arranged decade by decade and built from the recollections of players, coaches, and support staff. The presentation explores rivalries, All-State performers, notable opponents, memorable victories and key plays, as well as team and individual records from the program’s first fifty years.
