Secret Garden Dinner Series

An evening in the gardens pairs seasonal cuisine with a setting that feels both intimate and imaginative, all in support of the Gardens. Each installment highlights a locally celebrated chef who creates a multi-course menu inspired by the landscape’s beauty and bounty. Guests are seated in storybook surroundings, with locations that may include the Magic Tree House or the Charlotte’s Web barn, fostering a close connection to place. The night begins with a cocktail hour accompanied by live music, followed by a seated dinner. Every admission includes one hosted cocktail, and wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase throughout the experience. Tables can accommodate groups from two to twelve, and some evenings in the series are already sold out.

The Mane Event is an annual summer fundraiser held on a farm in Sheboygan Falls, bringing together horses, community, and a touch of magic for a memorable day. This relaxed, family-friendly gathering offers tasty food, a kids’ play zone, and a variety of activities that celebrate community while supporting a meaningful cause. Attendees can expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with heart, connection, and possibilities inspired by the presence of horses.

Rescheduled: Felting with the Flock - Tiny Lambs (or other animals)

Spend time with the Valais Blacknose Sheep at Stone Creek Meadow, including the new lambs, and learn the basics of needle felting while making a miniature lamb or another tiny animal. All materials are provided and light refreshments are included. Instruction is suitable for every experience level. Because the project uses small, sharp felting needles, it is best for ages 10 and older with adult supervision. This rescheduled workshop combines time with the flock and a creative, hands-on activity.

Gather your family and travel back in time to experience a relaxing stagecoach ride through the Kettle Moraine. You can board a replica Concord stagecoach, meet horses, take photos, and learn about horse-powered travel. The stagecoach can accommodate six passengers, but larger groups may be able to be accommodated. You can purchase tickets to experience the Wade House Historic Site, including the Wade House Stagecoach Inn, a sawmill, a blacksmith shop, and the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum.

Explore Grasshopper Hill Preserve on a prairie hike with broad views over Elkhart Lake, rescheduled after a previous rainout. Expect roughly 2 to 3 miles on moderate terrain with steady uphill sections. The route crosses open prairie with stretches of savanna and woodland edges, offering wide skies and hilltop vistas. Compared with wooded paths, there is more sun and breeze throughout. The landscape is largely exposed with minimal shade, and the combination of elevation and exposure can make the effort feel more demanding. Seasonal prairie blooms and active pollinators add to the experience. This outing is alcohol-free, a waiver is required, and leashed dogs are welcome. Participants meet at the shop and travel to the trail together. Rideshare options are available, parking is near the trail access, and no state park sticker is needed, with carpooling encouraged. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, light layers, and sturdy shoes. Follow Leave No Trace principles and pack out everything you bring.

Fourteen prompts will be placed along the paths, each offering a nature-themed quote and encouraging close observation of the surrounding ecosystem. Take a leisurely walk and pause at each stop to reflect. Bring a journal, a sketchbook, or your phone to capture thoughts, drawings, or photos in whatever style suits you. Move at a pace that feels right and return as often as you wish. There is one prompt for each week of the season, so you can complete them weekly or all at once, or revisit the same spot to notice how the landscape changes over time. A map showing all prompt locations is available online, in the map box at the information kiosk by the main entrance walkway, or inside the Ecology Center.

Sheboygan County Swing Hit & Ace Youth Team Tennis

An introductory tennis program designed for ages 5 to 14 who are just getting started. Instruction is led by USTA SafePlay approved providers. Participants build fitness while learning teamwork, communication, balance, agility, hand eye coordination, problem solving, and self reliance in a welcoming environment. The program uses smaller courts, shorter racquets, and lower bouncing balls so young players stay active and find success from the beginning. Sessions are offered for ages 5 to 8, for ages 9 to 14, and an option that welcomes all ages 5 to 14. The cost is $60 for ages 5 to 8 and $65 for ages 9 to 14. Writers can choose from prompts such as imagining a plant whose natural adaptations work like superpowers, inventing an original recipe with clear step-by-step directions, or completing a scenario that begins with planting only yellow flowers and takes an unexpected turn. The photo contest focuses on food photography that celebrates summer, whether that means backyard cookout plates, colorful market finds, or a melting ice cream cone, with an emphasis on creative presentation. Participants may enter both contests and submit up to three entries in each. A community Independence Day tradition returns with the 42nd Annual Y Freedom Run at the Sheboygan YMCA, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. Choose from a 2 mile untimed walk, a 2 mile chip timed run, a 5 mile chip timed run, or a virtual option that lets you take part from anywhere. Whether aiming for a personal best or enjoying a relaxed outing with family and friends, there is an option for every pace. Registration is available for a fee, with an optional cotton t-shirt for an additional 5 dollars. Packets can be picked up at the YMCA the day before and again on race day. The event takes place at the Sheboygan YMCA. Showers will be available for participants. Results will be posted online and at the YMCA and will not be mailed. Farm-to-Table Summer Camp

Nourish Summer Camp offers ages 8–13 an immersive farm-to-table experience. Participants roll up their sleeves in the garden to plant, tend, and harvest produce while discovering what it takes to grow food. After gathering ingredients, they move into the kitchen to turn their harvest into fresh meals. Each day spotlights a different world cuisine, encouraging exploration of global flavors while building practical cooking skills and confidence. By the final session, campers leave with a stronger connection to fresh ingredients and the know-how to create healthy, tasty dishes. The camp fee is $125 per student. Pre-registration is required, and registration closes five days before the camp begins. Menus may change based on locally sourced ingredients. 3-Day Cooking Camp for Kids (Ages 8-12)

Young cooks ages 8 to 12 can spend three days in the kitchen at Relish learning through hands-on cooking and plenty of tasting. Under the guidance of instructor Mollie Ver Velde, participants practice clean, safe kitchen habits while exploring global flavors. The menu highlights Mexico with homemade tortilla chips and guacamole along with chicken taquitos, continues with China featuring veggie spring rolls, barbecue pork buns, and mango pudding, and concludes in Italy with homemade pizza dough, pizza sauce, and a cannoli cream pie. This hands-on camp costs $150.

KPAL presents the Summer Steak Social at The Village at 170. Attendees can choose a steak or half-chicken meal served with sides and take part in several raffle opportunities. Tickets are available through a QR code or from a KPAL member.

Garden Education: Can You Eat Flowers?

Flowers are not only pleasing to the eye and nose, many are also delicious. In this garden education session, Tanya and her team introduce edible varieties and show practical ways to add them to dishes. Participants make a snack featuring edible flowers and leave with a pressed flower as a memento from Nourish. The cost is $25 per person. Pre-registration is required. Nourish reserves the right to cancel if the minimum number of participants is not met, with full refunds issued in that case.

🦖🐢 Prehistoric Pets at the Library!🐍🦕

Kohler Public Library hosts a prehistoric-themed program with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, featuring live reptiles, amphibians, and other creatures that share traits with ancient species. Get an up-close look through hands-on learning while exploring how evolution, adaptation, and survival connect today’s animals to the age of dinosaurs. The experience includes family-friendly photo opportunities and is free for all ages. This presentation is part of the Summer Reading Program with a focus on prehistoric pets.

Dairyland Festival - Annual Cornhole Tournament

The Cleveland Lions present the Annual Cornhole Tournament at the Dairyland Festival, bringing teams together at Dairyland Park in Cleveland, Wisconsin for friendly, competitive play. Teams can check in and register on site before play begins. The format starts with pool play to set seeding, then moves into a double-elimination bracket, and every team is guaranteed six games. Registration is $20 per team. Prize money is awarded to first, second, and third place using an 85% / 15% payout structure, with final amounts dependent on the number of teams.

Live music fills the outdoor tent at 3 Sheeps Brewing Company in Sheboygan, WI, creating a relaxed summer evening with fresh air and easygoing vibes. Expect soft rock and folk rock cover songs from the 70s, 80s, and beyond. The atmosphere is casual and dog friendly, with space for friends and family to enjoy brews together. Family Hike at Kohler-Andrae State Park

Organized by the Sheboygan Falls Cub Scouts, this family-friendly hike explores Kohler-Andrae State Park, with the group meeting by the playground near parking lot P8. Families and friends are welcome, and a fun activity is planned after the hike. Attendees may also spend time at the beach once the walk wraps up. Entry requires either a state park sticker or a daily pass. For comfort and safety, plan to have a small first aid kit, a full water bottle, a flashlight, a trail snack, sun protection, and a whistle. If it rains, the outing will be rescheduled. Summer Concert Series-Past Curfew, in conjunction with Community Safety Day

A family-friendly evening pairs the Summer Concert Series with Community Safety Day at River Park in Sheboygan Falls. Enjoy live music from Past Curfew, browse vendors, and grab a bite from food trucks. Kids can explore public safety vehicles and meet the personnel who operate them. Bring lawn chairs, settle in, and relax at River Park for a lively community gathering.

9th ANNUAL KAYAK REGATTA

Kayakers gather at Kiwanis Park for a public paddle hosted by Ecology Outfitters and the Wakkee Paddlers Club. The group will travel along the Sheboygan River to South Pier and back, lighting up the water as they go. A kayak decorating contest is part of the festivities, with judging taking place before the paddle begins and prizes awarded through sixth place. Awards are 100 dollars for first, 75 for second, 50 for third, 25 for fourth, 15 for fifth, and 10 for sixth. Participation is open to all, and the fee for ages 18 and up is 15 dollars with an event T-shirt included, with a day-of rate of 20 dollars.

Ms Kim returns to M&T's Gibbsville Orchard with a hands-on animal program featuring some of her favorite critters. She will share each animal's story and interesting facts, and guests will have the chance to touch and hold them. This family-friendly show takes place alongside the orchard's Annual Fall Festival. Event policies apply: no carry-ins and no pets.

TANGLE FOOT BAND

Tangle Foot Band returns with a family friendly set of classic rock from the 60s through the 90s, performing favorites like Once Bitten Twice Shy, Still the Night, and Play That Funky Music. The group plays throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Enjoy outdoor games, take a wagon ride through the orchard, and pick up food and beverages under the pavilion. Carry-ins are not allowed, pets are not permitted, there is no cover charge, and lawn chairs are welcome.
