Cabaret: The Musical

Cabaret, with a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, directed by Brett Olson, is presented in the Main Stage Theatre at the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities. The story unfolds in a Berlin nightclub at the close of the 1920s, where a daring Emcee urges the crowd to leave their worries at the door. Framed by the Emcee’s cheeky musical numbers, the production follows the lives of locals and expatriates as the city’s glittering nightlife intersects with a gathering sense of upheaval while Germany moves toward the rise of the Third Reich. Part of the Paracosm 2026 tour, Caster Volor comes back to McAuliffe’s Pub with Smashed, a Milwaukee-based tribute to The Offspring. The band is supporting a new album released October 24 through Pavement Entertainment, and its lead single At Least We Still Got Our Rock 'N' Roll has climbed to number 22 on Digital Rock Radio's Top 50 chart. Known for shock rock theatrics that blend hard rock and heavy metal with a vaudeville twist, Caster Volor pairs gritty, anthemic songs with an immersive, high-energy production. Their cover set can jump from classic rock and metal to unexpected pop, drawing on artists such as KISS, Billy Idol, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson, Godsmack, Hollywood Undead, Falling In Reverse, LMFAO, Tatu, and Enrique Iglesias. This show arrives months ahead of their Rock Fest 2026 appearance, where they are slated to close The Who's On Top stage on Saturday night following The Offspring's main stage headlining set.

His style mixes modern country with small-town grit and forthright lyrics that connect from the first notes. The set leans personal rather than scripted and includes familiar tracks such as Because of You, Whiskey Bent, and Around Here. With a Downtown Racine backdrop by the water, expect an easygoing night of live music, solid food, and a crowd that grows as the energy builds.

Silver Fox Flex

At Silver Fox Disc Golf Course, this one round flex start tournament features 18 holes on the Silver Fox layout. Sign up or check in takes place in the parking lot, and cards consist of three to five players with help available to find a group if needed. Players may choose an optional tee time for priority at that slot, which also assists with pairing solo players; walk-up registration is welcome, and in-person signups at the table are cash only. A $15 non PDGA fee applies to players without a current PDGA number. This tournament is part of the 2026 Tri-Fox Points Series. Points are earned by participating in a division and by finishing ahead of competitors in that division. Event weighting applies, with flex events counting at 1x, C-Tiers at 2x for two-round events, B-Tiers at 3x, and the Dairyland Championship at 4x. In addition, one dollar per player from every Tri-Fox Series event goes directly to Dairyland Championship payouts for the corresponding division, added on top of standard payouts to boost the championship purse. If a player’s rating places them between divisions, a process is being explored to allow declaring a move. With an official change, the player would be removed from their previous division and carry over 50 percent of their points. Competing in the higher division is recommended for those concerned about being moved up after a rating update. The Dairyland Championship will use tiered invitations. Tier one goes to winners of Tri-Fox events during the season, tier two to the top five in each season standing, tier three to anyone who has participated in at least one Tri-Fox event, followed by open entry. Tri-Fox Disc Golf handles all refunds and cancellations.

15th Annual Family Reunion Music Festival

Now in its 15th year, this family reunion music festival brings people together to celebrate life, family, community, and friendship. The gathering is free and open to everyone. This edition serves as a fundraiser for Racine Urban Garden Network and Family Power Music, and it also supports the Racine County Food Bank through non-perishable food donations. Funds are generated through food and drink sales, raffles, merchandise, and sponsorships, with the entertainment lineup to be announced. Pleasant Prairie Triathlon

Hosted at Pleasant Prairie RecPlex, this race begins and ends in Prairie Springs Park. The swim takes place in Lake Andrea, a 100-acre spring-fed lake. Competitors will bike on paved roads through the Village of Pleasant Prairie, including a new frontage road, then run along the park’s paved trails and gravel paths. This performance is part of Rhythm on the Lake, presented with support from Kenosha County Parks, Community State Bank, and Woodmans. The Paddock Lake Lions Club will run a pop-up biergarten with beverages available for purchase.

Color Party

For ages 0-2, beat the winter blues with a colorful celebration! Children can create monoprints to take home and brighten up those dreary winter days. There will also be colorful toys and books available for exploration with friends. Attendees are advised to dress accordingly, as the event may get messy.

Wild Wilderness Collages

For ages 5-12, this event lets children create wilderness collages inspired by artist Christa Rijneveld. The collages will feature animals that enjoy snowy mountains and cold weather.

Kid Kitchen: Stone Soup

Kids ages 5-12 can read the book Stone Soup and then make a delicious soup inspired by the story. Registration and a signed waiver are required before the class begins.

Electricity and Magnetism

Children ages 5-9 can explore electricity and magnetism through hands-on activities. Participants will delve into these principles by painting with magnets and creating electrical circuits.

Wonderful Ones

Wonderful Ones Storytime is tailored for one-year-olds who are already walking, along with their caregivers. This engaging storytime incorporates books, rhymes, songs, and plenty of movement, all specifically designed to suit young toddlers.

Fiction Writers Group: Brainstorming

Whether you are a seasoned writer or a first-time author, this is the workshop for you. Stop by to learn new tips and tricks and have time to write in the company of other writers. January 11th offers brainstorming as a theme, and January 25th focuses on blending the familiar and the original. This event is suitable for adults 19+ and requires no registration.

Library Social Hour

Adults can enjoy a monthly social gathering with lighthearted activities in a calm and supportive environment. The January activity will be creating a fun flair frame to keep or give as a gift.
