At Rooted Yakima Valley, dog lovers from across Yakima County gather for a relaxed evening built around connection. There are no speeches and no formal agenda... just live music, conversation, and the friendly company of people and their dogs. The event brings together rescuers, neighbors, foster caregivers, teachers, police officers, and local leaders who want to see dogs in Yakima treated better. In addition, $1 from every pint supports Back Home, Terrace Heights and the YakPack. The goal is simple. Meaningful change often begins when the right people meet.

RSF 45 Day Challenge

The RSF 45 Day Challenge offers a focused reset for health and fitness through full body workouts centered on strength and resistance training. Participants complete baseline and final check ins that include body measurements, body fat, BMI and weigh ins to track progress throughout the program. Training is held both indoors and outdoors, with sessions also taking place at parks around the city. The schedule runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and the program cost is $110. An exhibition that puts Indigenous voices at the forefront of the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people, often abbreviated MMIP. Attendees can explore artwork, historical context, and audio and video materials that examine the crisis, with emphasis on how it affects the Yakama Nation. Created in partnership by Yakima Valley College’s Diversity Series, the team behind the War Cry podcast, and Larson Gallery, it is presented in the original Larson Gallery building next to Prior Hall and across the street from the new gallery building.

Salsa Dance Classes

Salsa classes at Mojo Studio offer a welcoming way to learn and practice in a monthly four week series. Instruction is available in two levels to fit your experience. Level 1 is designed for brand new dancers, and Level 2 is intended for those who have completed the first level or who are dancing at an intermediate level, with drop in participation welcome for Level 2. A practice session follows to help reinforce new steps and styling. Beginners should start in the first or second week of the series. Registration for Level 1 closes to brand new participants during the third and fourth weeks, and if the first two weeks are missed it is best to wait for the next series. Please purchase a pass in advance. No partner is required, and many participants attend solo. An optional rotation makes it easy to meet others and build confidence. This program is for ages 18 and older, and the studio is located on the second floor. Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Sneakers or gym attire work well. Please avoid flip flops or any sandals. Heels are welcome only if you feel steady in them and they include heel support and a front strap. As a perk, students taking Level 2 may also attend the Level 1 class on the same day at no extra charge, then stay for social practice to ask questions and get extra repetitions.

Wednesday - Salsa Dance Classes - May 2026 Week #2

Salsa classes at Mojo Studio feature a two-level format that welcomes complete beginners and continuing dancers. Level 1 is for those with no prior dance experience, and Level 2 is for intermediate students or anyone who has completed Level 1, with drop-ins welcome for Level 2. After instruction, a salsa practice session provides space to review steps, ask questions, get extra reps, and build confidence. Passes are purchased in advance, and beginner registration closes later in the series. No partner is required. Many participants attend solo, and an optional rotating partner system helps everyone meet new people and learn comfortably. This program is for ages 18 and up. Comfortable clothing and sneakers are recommended, while flip flops are discouraged. High heels are suitable only if they feel secure, with heel support and a front strap. Bringing a water bottle is encouraged. The first class is free with online signup through Punchpass. Grape to Glass Gala

Yakima Valley College’s Vineyard and Winery Technology Program presents the 17th annual Grape to Glass Gala, a scholarship fundraiser supporting students in vineyard and winery technology. The celebration takes place at YVC’s Kaminski Conference Center and includes a winemaker’s dinner, beer and wine tastings, live music, and a silent auction. Chef Roger Hazzard of Bon Vino’s Bistro serves a gourmet meal paired with wines from the award-winning Yakima Valley Vintners, and a dessert auction is provided by Scratch Bakery. The theme, Pacific Northwest Celebration, features pairings that showcase regional flavors. A happy hour highlights beverages created by alumni at HAAS Innovation Brewing, Tirriddis Sparkling Wines, Wheel Line Cider, McKinley Springs, and Côte Bonneville. Wednesday - Salsa Dance Classes - May 2026 Week #3

Week three of a four week salsa series at Mojo Studio features progressive instruction for two levels. Level 1 focuses on fundamentals for brand new dancers, and Level 2 is geared toward those who have completed Level 1 or dance at an intermediate level. Level 2 allows drop-ins. A 30 minute social practice follows the classes to refine steps, ask questions, and build confidence. Advance passes are requested. Registration for beginners is closed during weeks three and four. No partner is required, and many attendees come on their own. An optional rotating partner system helps everyone practice with multiple partners. Participants must be 18 or older. Wear clothing that lets you move comfortably and choose supportive footwear such as sneakers. Please avoid flip flops. Heels are fine if you feel fully comfortable in them and they have a secure heel and a front strap. Bringing a water bottle is recommended. Perks include a free first class with online sign up through Punchpass. Students enrolled in Level 2 may also take Level 1 on the same day at no extra charge, which can add up to two hours of instruction plus the additional practice time.
