The Shop Club SeattlePNW-ACBS Opening Day 2026
At Fisherman's Terminal in Seattle, the Pacific Northwest chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society sets an Opening Day theme inspired by the Declaration’s landmark ideals of life, liberty, and the quest for happiness. Members of Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution are featured guests, and families are welcome. Presented as a Seattle Yacht Club Spirit Class fleet entry, the chapter’s coordinated skit brings together thirteen restored open-cockpit boats, each representing one of the original colonies. Every boat showcases a five foot white quill prop, skippers wear tricorn hats, and SAR and DAR guests appear in colonial attire. The lead boat will present a signing tableau as it passes the Seattle Yacht Club officers. In this category, four or more boats perform as a single entry, and judging considers showmanship, attire and actions, seamanship, and overall presentation. Only one entry is accepted per yacht club, boating group, or independent fleet. The chapter provides a table covering, oversized quills, and a display of the Declaration for the lead boat, along with red, white, and blue fan flags for each vessel, themed banners, and refreshments that include beverages, snacks, and lunch for SAR and DAR guests. SAR and DAR members may bring chapter flags, and Eric Olsen, WASSAR Color Guard Commander, will bring reproductions of colonial state navy flags. Skippers and first mates are encouraged to decorate generously in red, white, and blue to mark America 250. The day begins with a meetup at the Fisherman's Terminal marina, then the fleet heads to Elliott Bay for the start of the Opening Day Boat Parade. The PNW-ACBS boats will pass the Seattle Yacht Club officials, continue through the Montlake Cut, pause for lunch at the UW rowing facility at Conibear Shellhouse, and conclude the parade. When the Cut reopens to general traffic, SAR and DAR participants will be transported back to Fisherman's Terminal. DAR and SAR members are asked to RSVP in advance to ensure availability.

The lineup features Gene Lee, Wesley Holmes, Karl Kamakahi, Miss Min.d, Recess, Bgeezy, and Jame$ervin. There are no presales, entry is taken at the door. Admission is 25, or 15 for guests in favored attire of black, white, electric blue, or pink, and those looks receive priority entry. For adults only. Friday Afternoonsea sound feat. REZIDENT (Boat Party)
Set sail for a boat party at Lake Union Park featuring Rezident, the project of rising producer David Roif from Karlsruhe in Germany’s Baden-Württemberg region. His sound finds a sweet spot where house, electro, techno, and broader dance music meet, balancing dancefloor drive with looping, mantra-like repetition that can feel both celebratory and restorative. Influenced early by a steady diet of Deadmau5 and taking cues from progressive touchstones like Bicep, Rezident continues to build momentum. He began crafting tracks at age 12 after hearing a custom ringtone, experimenting with music software on a Windows laptop and honing essential techniques such as layering, simplifying, and stepping away to return with fresh ears. His releases often weave reverberant, deep house-tinged chords with crisp hi-hats and airy whooshes, leaning into a more minimal and candid approach that departs from his earlier, more commercial style. Ticketing rolls out in stages, with an early access registration period and an early access ticket release preceding the public sale.

The flow of the gathering includes time to settle in, a check-in with introductions, then announcements and a brief check-out to close. Getting there is convenient by transit, with Sound Transit Link 1 Line stopping at Othello Station directly across the street, and King County Metro routes 36, 50, and 106 serving the area. Street parking is available on mostly flat blocks. H&NP Support Meetings are strictly for people living with paralysis and their immediate families and caregivers, and are not for public or private enterprise. These gatherings are nonprofessional in nature and focused on peer-to-peer mutual aid. Opinions shared are those of the individuals who offer them, and participants are encouraged to take what is helpful and leave the rest. For more information, contact Matt Clark, the group representative, at clarkmattclarkmatt@gmail.com or text 215.880.0253.
Othello-UW CommonsKing Tuff
Barboza hosts King Tuff with Gabriel Bernini. The performance centers on King Tuff’s return to a beloved Tascam 388 tape machine first used on the album King Tuff Was Dead, inspiring a raw, lively sound shaped by in-the-moment decisions and the rough edges of rock and roll. Recent recording sessions, including the track Twisted On A Train, embraced spontaneity, tape grit, and the thrill of imperfection. This event is 21 and over, and a valid ID is required for entry. Doors open at the time shown on the event listing, and the show generally begins about an hour after doors, though timing may change. Barboza is not wheelchair accessible. Tickets are nonrefundable except in the event of cancellation. Support acts may change. Orders that exceed the stated ticket limit may be canceled without notice.

Plant Practice: Martha Makosky & Katy Gilmore
The Miller Library presents Plant Practice, a joint exhibition featuring artists Martha Makosky and Katy Gilmore with a focus on botanical themes. Makosky’s visual art reflects formative years in tropical Southeast Asia alongside decades in the Puget Sound, and in this exhibition her mixed media pieces begin with hand printed collage papers made using stencil, relief, and transfer methods. She draws and paints plant forms over these layers, then sands and rebuilds surfaces to combine subtle, ghostlike textures with clear focal elements that link observed nature and abstract form. In her third show at the Miller Library, Gilmore explores a Northwest year through the Japanese concept of 72 micro seasons, creating pages of images and words at five day intervals that unfold into large accordion books for display. The exhibition also includes monoprints of individual flowers and Flower Pages, with flower paintings on deaccessioned gardening encyclopedia pages. The exhibition is open to the public during library hours.

Phinney Neighborhood Association - PNAADULT.
Presented by Barboza, ADULT. brings the Detroit synth‑punk duo of Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller to the stage for a set that channels decades of razor‑edged intensity into a focused, high‑voltage experience. Their tenth album, Kissing Luck Goodbye, and fourth for Dias Records, amplifies their sound with upgraded gear, a fresh palette of samples and field recordings, and a mix that puts Kuperus’ commanding voice front and center. Themes of modern absurdity, resistance, and controlled chaos course through the new material, while the duo also taps back into bass‑driven cuts from the early 2000s that helped define their Anxiety Always era and sparked renewed live energy after fervent crowd responses abroad. The record’s creation followed personal and technical hurdles, including health challenges, the loss of their friend and collaborator Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb to whom the album is dedicated, and a string of studio mishaps, all of which fed a fiercer urgency rather than a retreat. With producer Nolan Gray, brought into the fold after a chance meeting, they layered thrifted vinyl fragments, long‑archived sounds, and even the hum of everyday machines run through pedals to build songs that are dense, visceral, and meticulously shaped. Highlights include No One Is Coming, born from a skipping record captured on a phone during a bnb stay for Kuperus’ 50th birthday and driven by a bass‑heavy industrial pulse that insists on self‑reliance, the breathless surge of None of It’s Fun, and Destroyers, which swells from a steady foundation into a sculpted wall of sound before closing with a stark a cappella statement on exploitation and resolve. This event is for ages 21 and over. A valid ID is required and minors will not be admitted. Doors open at the time shown on the listing, and the performance generally starts about an hour later, although schedules may change without notice. All ticket sales are final except in the case of cancellation. Openers may change. Orders that exceed the posted ticket limit may be canceled without notice. Please note that Barboza does not offer wheelchair access.
BarbozaConcert Film: Jeff Parker – ETA IVtet – Happy Today
At Northwest Film Forum, a special screening presents a full-album concert film featuring Jeff Parker’s ETA IVtet performing at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles. The Grand Illusion, Goodbye Look, and International Anthem collaborate on this presentation. The film showcases the quartet’s minimalist, boundary-pushing improvisation, with cinematography by Charlie Weinmann and audio captured and mixed by engineer Bryce Gonzales using a custom analog mixer and a Nagra stereo tape machine. The group’s early studio work took shape at ETA, a small Los Angeles venue where their first two acclaimed albums were recorded. That intimate space doubled as a workshop and an easygoing testing ground, and during a seven year run of Monday nights the band honed its voice. Their new release, Happy Today, extends that close-knit energy to a larger room at the Lodge Room, while the synergy among guitarist Jeff Parker, drummer Jay Bellerose, bassist Anna Butterss, and saxophonist Josh Johnson remains hypnotic and finely tuned. The Goodbye Look curates, presents, and produces live jazz in Seattle.

Seattle First Baptist ChurchBluegrass Jam at the Machine House Brewery
A regular bluegrass jam fills Machine House Brewery in Hillman City with pickers, singers, and listeners of every age and experience level. New players are welcome if they can keep rhythm on basic songs, and a quick review of jam etiquette helps everyone play together smoothly. Many tunes are called by number using the Nashville Number System, so familiarity with that approach is useful. The focus stays on bluegrass. Songs from other genres are fine when arranged in a bluegrass style, and the host may pass on any pick to keep the circle friendly and flowing. Original material can work if it is straightforward to follow, though this is not an open mic, so it is best to check first. No one is required to lead a song. In larger circles, some participants may be asked to sit in an outer ring. Charts are allowed as long as they do not block anyone’s view, and memorizing when possible is encouraged. There is no cover charge. Supporting the venue by ordering and tipping is appreciated, and buying the host a beer is considered good manners. Members of the Outlander Progressive Bluegrass Social Club receive one dollar off each drink with a membership card. The brewery does not serve food, but outside food is welcome. Dogs are allowed. Guests who do not drink are welcome as well, and tipping the bartender is still appreciated. The jam also offers resources for learning, including a rotating Song of the Week with charts and recordings, playlists of tunes that have been called, and a running list of previous selections with keys and frequency, along with additional charts and lyrics for practice.

Ticket purchases are limited to eight per person, and orders that exceed the limit may be canceled at the venue’s discretion. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges. Mobile ticket barcodes are released four days before the event, and the venue may change delivery methods. Neptune TheatreWhere's Beth ~ Claire Tucker (trio) ~ C. Martí
The Rabbit Box presents a showcase featuring Where’s Beth, Claire Tucker performing with vocalist Billie Bloom and Olie Eshleman on guitar and pedal steel, and C. Martí. Where’s Beth is the project led by Sarabeth Weszely, whose clear voice and candid songwriting draw quiet attention. A Midwesterner and trained writer, she brings a literary focus to songs rooted in shared domestic spaces and the ordinary details of daily life. She previously lived in New York City, where she recorded releases including "for my mom & other lovers" and "Bone Broth." Her second album, "Ache Is A Cricket In The Night," was recorded live in her Seattle home studio.
