Enjoy a relaxed, creative night at Wine About It while making a sparkling crushed glass artwork. Choose your design and project size at purchase, then layer hand dyed glass in your favorite colors and seal it with a clear, fume free finish for lasting shimmer. Deanna and Paul will provide friendly, step by step instruction from start to finish. Each ticket covers one project and comes with a laser cut wooden frame in the size you select, all tools and materials, a wide selection of glass colors, the clear sealant, and a suction cup for hanging your finished piece in a window. Seating and supplies are arranged based on the number of tickets purchased, so every guest in your group should have their own ticket. Pricing begins at $45 for a 6 inch mini project, with an optional upgrade to a 12 inch standard size for $60. The upgrade increases the size of a single project and does not add a second frame. This experience suits most makers ages 8 and up, and younger children may participate at an adult’s discretion. Because real glass is used, there is a small chance of a minor nick, though issues are uncommon. The venue is kid friendly and guests under 18 should attend with an adult. A variety of beverages, including non alcoholic options, and charcuterie are available for purchase from the venue. Told in a contemporary Irish voice, the novel explores how art endures in wartime and how connection can span deep divides. Content warnings include violence, slavery, death, war, injury and injury detail, grief, child death, sexual harassment, and rape. Told from a child’s viewpoint, the stories remember First Nation families who traveled from Canada to harvest in summer, the Filipino manongs who stayed through the winter months, the relationships that grew across communities, and how these experiences shaped generations. The film features farms and families from the Anacleto Corpuz farm on New Brooklyn Road, the Oligario farm on Lynnwood Road, the Kitamoto farm on Battle Point Drive, the Koura farm on Koura Road, and the Rapada farm on New Brooklyn Road. After the screening, a discussion will include the Corpuz Sisters, Lily Kodama, Carol Kubota, DyAnne Koura, Joann Oligario, and Gilda Rapada. Poulsbo Parks and Recreation✨ Western Red Brewing Crushed Glass Art Party ✨
Create a sparkling crushed glass artwork at Western Red Brewing in a relaxed, social setting. Facilitators Deanna and Paul guide participants as they pick a design and choose a project size from a selection of laser cut wood frames, arrange hand dyed crushed glass, and seal their piece with a clear, fume free finish for lasting shine. Each ticket covers one project and includes the frame, a wide range of glass colors, sealing solution, all tools, and a suction cup for window display, plus step by step instruction. The 6 inch mini project is $45, with an option to upgrade to a 12 inch standard project for $60. The upgrade increases the size of a single project and does not add an extra frame. Seating and materials are prepared according to the number of tickets, so every attendee needs an individual reservation. Most creators ages 8 and up can complete the project comfortably, while younger children may participate at an adult’s discretion. Because real crushed glass is used, there is a small chance of a tiny poke or minor cut. Food and beverages are available for purchase from Western Red Brewing, and outside snacks are allowed.
