Tech Help

Personalized tech support is available through free 30-minute appointments at your local library. A tech professional will work with you one-on-one to answer questions about smartphones, tablets, or laptops. Sessions can cover basics like settings, updates, and storage, getting started with email, apps, and online accounts, staying safe and private while browsing the internet, using the library’s digital resources, and troubleshooting common issues such as slow performance, notifications, or connectivity problems. This program is offered in partnership with NCW Tech Alliance and the AAC AmeriCorps Member serving with them, connecting community members with local tech experts. Registration is free, and when signing up you are encouraged to share what you need help with so staff can prepare. Please note that staff provide guidance but will not enter passwords or sensitive information, complete forms on your behalf, offer medical, legal, or financial advice, or repair or troubleshoot broken hardware.

Veterans: the Gathering

A veterans group gathers for community and fun games of Magic, creating a friendly setting to connect with others who have served. The emphasis is on camaraderie, shared experiences, and lighthearted play.

Preschool Storytime at Wenatchee Library

Preschoolers gather at Wenatchee Public Library for a 30-minute storytime featuring story sharing, singing, and rhyming. The session supports early language and literacy and encourages social and emotional growth for young children.

Wander Walkers Club w/ the YMCA

Stay active and connect with others in the Wenatchee Valley through Wander Walkers, a weekly walking club with the YMCA. Participants enjoy relaxed, social walks in the fresh air to recharge and build community, with occasional outings on nearby trails for scenic hiking. The group gathers at Walla Walla Point Park near Shelter 1 by the tennis courts and playground. Open to everyone, with no YMCA membership required. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and dogs are welcome if they are friendly and non-reactive.

WALK-IN LEGAL CLINIC

A free civil legal aid walk-in clinic is available at the office. Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To be eligible, individuals must meet income requirements, have a civil legal issue, and reside in Chelan or Douglas counties. A bilingual attorney will be available to provide advice. The consultations are brief and offer advice and suggestions for the next steps. Guests may utilize the parking lot or park along the red fence line, being considerate of the neighborhood residents.

Potty Party - Ribbon Cutting

A celebratory ribbon cutting marks the opening of new ADA bathroom facilities and a pavilion at Leavenworth Winter Sports Club’s Ski Hill, followed by the ceremonial first flush, a dance party, and live music with Eric Link on the pavilion. Winners of the First Flush and Royal Flush silent auction will help officially open the bathrooms, and the winner of The Gambler raffle will also take part. The First Flush grants the first official flush in the stall of choice, the Royal Flush offers five additional spots for the next round of flushes, and The Gambler reserves the last stall space through a $1 raffle ticket. Bidding is in person with two chances to participate, and winners are notified by phone or email. The project comes to life through contributions from Loos 4 the Lodge, grants, donors, members, staff, the board, and the wider community, and the bathrooms will officially open alongside the Wednesday Night Music Series.

Learn a mix of classic and contemporary line dances set to popular country and club music, with an instructor cueing the steps so everyone can follow along. Drop-in pricing is $10.

This Jeopardy-inspired pop culture trivia event turns up the intensity with buzzer rounds and team competition. It offers a sharper, speed focused format where quick thinking is rewarded. The buy-in is $2 per person, and the winning team takes the full pot.

Spring Coloring Contest

Welcome spring with Rootwood Cider’s second annual coloring contest in the taproom. Choose a blank page from the binder filled with Rootwood designs, then create your artwork during your visit. Crayons and colored pencils are provided so all you need to bring is your creativity. People of all ages are welcome, with categories for adults over 21, 15 to 20, 9 to 14, 5 to 8, and 0 to 4. Each guest may submit one entry per visit, and entries must be completed on site. To be considered for prizes, write your contact information on the back of your drawing. Prizes are awarded in every age group, and selected pieces may be featured on Rootwood’s social media.

At Stormy Mountain Brewing and Local Public House, Pub Trivia offers a community favorite experience with questions suitable for every age group, touching on sports, history, culture, and more. Prizes are up for grabs, and there is no cost to take part.

Bullseye 2026 (GR or TT Closed)

Participate in a bi-weekly bullseye event. Those new to this activity with the WRRC are encouraged to bring 100-200 rounds of rimfire ammunition. Participants should also bring a pistol, chamber flag, hearing protection, eye protection, and a bag or case for their firearm. All are welcome.

Spend a weekend volunteering at Holden Village Bed & Breakfast on projects that give the space a thorough refresh. Activities include organizing kitchen cabinets, preparing bedrooms for upcoming guests, and sprucing up outdoor areas. Registration is first come, first served, and participants may arrive early and stay through the end of the weekend. Meals will be planned and cooked collaboratively. Brittany Jean

Enjoy an evening of sweet songs and stories at Tastebuds Coffee and Wine with folk singer and songwriter Brittany Jean. Her performance traces scenes from golden sunflower fields and the Irish coast to wild hearts and a hidden cabin up north, with each piece shaped as a love song. Based in a small apple town along the Columbia River in Washington, she has taken her music far from home, including appearances at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and an opening set for Three Dog Night in New York City. Her catalog includes six studio albums and an EP, all recorded in Music City, and from her sixth album Colors & Covers, the songs Golden Hour, Lightfoot, and Dear Mr. Green were finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards. Work on her seventh album is underway. Reservations are recommended.

Rockfest 2026

Rockfest 2026 brings live music, food and drinks, vendors, speakers, clinics, and a bouldering competition to Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth. Katie Lamb will deliver the keynote address. North Cascades Mountain Guides will lead a range of clinics in Icicle Canyon, including multi-pitch efficiency, traditional anchors, top-rope anchors, traditional leading, rappelling tactics, and introductory outdoor bouldering. Topics span efficient anchor setups, rope management at the belay, strategies for parties of three, fixed point lead belays, placing active and passive protection, building and cleaning durable top-rope systems, mock leading on top-rope with instructor feedback, safe and efficient multi-pitch descents and lowers, plus movement, spotting, pad placement, and gym-to-crag awareness for new outdoor boulderers. Multi-pitch efficiency and traditional leading sessions are limited to four participants, while traditional anchors, top-rope anchors, rappelling tactics, and bouldering sessions are limited to six. Registration involves purchasing a general admission ticket and adding a clinic for an additional $55. The bouldering competition will be facilitated by Beargrass, with further details to come. Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the RV site in Icicle Canyon, with space for approximately 50 vehicles. Toilets are provided, and visitors are asked to pack out all trash. Additional options include car camping at Bridge Creek bivy and the Forestland parking lot, as well as dispersed camping on Forest Service land on the side of the road away from the river. Please respect no-camping signs on private property and follow Leave No Trace principles. Restrooms can be found in numerous locations in the Icicle, so there is no need to dig a cathole. For more information about camping in the area, resources are available from the Wenatchee River Ranger District. The schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Cinco de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Chelan Eagles at a lively heritage-themed gathering featuring food, drink specials, and music. Francisco Blanco will serve Mexican hot dogs, tacos with beef or pork, and elotes, with prices posted at the event. DJ Brent will provide a high energy soundtrack. The event is open to the public. To purchase alcoholic beverages from the lounge, guests must be signed in by an Eagles member, and a current ID is required.

Sacred Mirrors: Soundbath and Guided Meditation

Settle into a restorative session designed for relaxation and gentle cellular renewal. It begins with a conversation about the monthly spiritual principle paired with a guided meditation, then moves into a soundbath to help anchor the theme in daily awareness. Please bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion, along with any blankets or pillows that keep you comfortable. Capacity is limited, so arriving early is recommended to secure a spot. This gathering is offered by donation, with a suggested contribution of $25.

Our Valley Our Future hosts a community listening session at Manson Community Library to gather ideas that will shape the region’s next Action Plan (2027 to 2031). The event is free and open to all, and Spanish translation will be available. Input collected here will help guide projects, programs, and initiatives aimed at improving life throughout Chelan and Douglas counties. More than 20 organizations from the two counties are participating as official partners in this year’s Our Valley Together project. Explore the Indigenous tradition of beadwork with local artist and entrepreneur Amanda Keewatinawin, owner of Mystic North Jewelry. This hands-on workshop covers the history of Indigenous beadwork and provides step by step guidance to create mini fringe earrings inspired by the colors of birds. Amanda is Nêhiyaw and an enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe in Rocky Boy, Montana, a mother of twins, and a lifelong resident of the Wenatchee valley. She has created wearable art for Mystic North for nearly a decade, drawing inspiration from the beauty of NCW and the surrounding areas, and is dedicated to the preservation of Indigenous art, language, culture, and land. Outside of her business, she spends time with her daughters, beads for loved ones, and hikes with her dog. Registration includes a curated kit and instructions for use during class.

Sip & Paint

La Garza Cellars hosts a relaxed sip and paint celebrating Manson’s Apple Blossom Festival weekend. Participants will paint an apple blossom branch and can choose any color palette, whether inspired by pinks, greens, and a soft blue sky or entirely their own. The session is self-paced and low pressure, with a simple step-by-step booklet for guidance that you can follow loosely or use as a starting point. Help will be available throughout, and no experience is required, making it welcoming for beginners. Each guest receives an 8x10 canvas, paint, brushes, pencils, and a printed booklet. The Hatchery Star Party

WVAC’s premier community star party at Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery welcomes everyone, from the simply curious to seasoned amateur astronomers. No registration is required. Newcomers can bring a telescope for hands-on pointers, and those without equipment are invited to look through member telescopes identified by red lights, with each scope focused on a different target. Questions are encouraged, whether about choosing a first telescope or exploring big astronomy topics. Experienced observers are also welcome to set up and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Every attendee is greeted by a WVAC member who explains how the evening will run, so arriving on time helps with introductions. Parking is in the USFWS Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery lot just outside the gate. The gate may be partly closed, and vehicles should not go beyond it unless prior permission has been given to unload a telescope. The observing area sits just past the main building, roughly 50 yards from parking; walk through the gates and follow the main roadway to the red-lit sign. The event is free, and optional donations support Friends of the Hatchery in installing a Sky Quality Meter to track local light pollution over time. During observing, avoid white light. Red-lensed lights are fine, and white light should be reserved for emergencies. Dress for changing weather and possible wind, and consider insect repellent. Restrooms in the main building are available when USFWS staff are on site. The star party may be canceled in the event of poor weather, with updates posted on the WVAC events calendar.

2026 Bird Fest Keynote Speaker: Neil Paprocki

This keynote traces the journeys of Red-tailed and Rough-legged Hawks across Washington and the Arctic tundra, using GPS transmitter data to illuminate their year-round movements. The presentation explains how these raptors navigate seasonal change and varied landscapes through migration, and shares stories from individually tracked birds that highlight the challenges they face and the strategies that support survival. Content centers on migration and movement ecology as revealed through modern GPS tracking. Neil Paprocki, Ph.D., is a raptor ecologist whose work focuses on movement ecology, migration, and the effects of environmental change on birds of prey. He lives in Wenatchee, Washington and is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the University of Idaho, where his research brings together GPS tracking, long-term monitoring, and comparative migration theory. With nearly two decades of experience studying raptors across North America, he has published extensively on Rough-legged and Red-tailed Hawks and other wide-ranging species, and has delivered dozens of talks at public and professional scientific events in the United States and abroad.

Run For Your Mother 5K Event 2026

The 9th Annual Run for Your Mother 5K raises funds for Wenatchee MomCo, formerly MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), an international organization that connects and equips mothers from pregnancy through the kindergarten years in partnership with Awaken Church. The event includes a free 1K for children 12 and under, with registration required, along with a 5K for registered participants. Activities also include a silent auction, bake sale, complimentary face painting, and vendor booths. Early bird registration is $25 and increases to $35 afterward, and early signups receive a free T-shirt. Proceeds support the local Wenatchee MomCo group, which fosters community among moms and gives back through visits to retirement communities and by assembling care packages for first responders, helping children learn the value of service.

Spring Clean-Up

Volunteers are invited to help ready Camp Zanika Lache for summer through a variety of hands-on projects. Work includes sprucing up cabins and washing windows, maintenance on the archery range and waterfront, tidying the Kiwanis Lodge, setting up wall tents, cleaning the kitchen, preparing lunch, burning and raking debris, cutting firewood, and organizing program areas. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves, rakes, chainsaws, loppers, and any other useful tools. Lunch is provided. Overnight lodging is available for those who would like to stay before or after, with RSVP required.

Groundbreaking Celebration

Celebrate the Museum’s Branch Out transformation with a free, family-friendly gathering that also serves as the last opportunity to explore the Museum before work gets underway. Offered through CyberTracker North America, this field-based track and sign evaluation focuses on identifying and interpreting animal sign through interactive learning. Expect real-world tracking scenarios with ample time for questions and discussion. Participants may earn a certificate at the conclusion, available at three levels, and those with previous CyberTracker experience can attempt a higher evaluation. CyberTracker courses emphasize focused instruction with expert trackers, helping participants both deepen knowledge and rigorously document current skills. The certification system began as a pathway for Indigenous trackers in Africa to gain employment on game reserves, and it is now internationally recognized by wildlife researchers, environmental educators, and others who want to benchmark their abilities. Evaluations take place entirely in the field to encounter a wide range of tracks and sign, with conversation encouraged and individualized guidance provided. Book Signing: Of Hearts and Murder by R.K. Benton

Local author R. K. Benton visits A Book for All Seasons for a signing and conversation centered on her debut novel, Of Hearts and Murder: A Cascade Shadows Mystery. Set in the fictional mountain town of Marion, Washington, the story introduces private investigator Cal Walker and begins a series that blends cozy small town atmosphere with emotional depth and a thread of Cold War intrigue. Returning home to handle family matters, Cal is drawn into a case involving a developer’s death and the disappearance of a reformed criminal, uncovering secrets the town has long tried to hide. Teaming with Officer Inga Wells, he follows clues that point to a perilous Cold War era artifact, with covert calls, tripwires, long forgotten laboratories, and an unusual poison raising the stakes. Guests can meet the author, hear about the book and its inspirations, ask questions, and have copies signed. Benton is a Pacific Northwest author with experience writing plays, live interactive performances, video game scripts, and operatic librettos. Her work launched in 2025 with Of Hearts and Murder, and she co-founded Write Club, a literary community based in Leavenworth, Washington, that supports local authors through workshops, readings, and collaborative storytelling events. She lives in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State, where she continues to craft character driven mysteries and new interactive storytelling projects.

Student Jam N’ Arts Festival

Entiat students in grades 6 through 12 can showcase their talents at an arts and performance gathering. Set up a booth to display or sell artwork, reserve a 15 minute spot on the mic for a solo performance, or get together with friends for a jam. How you present your work is up to you. Astronomy on the Lake

Settle in on the beach at Lake Wenatchee State Park’s South Park entrance, South Beach Day Use Area, for a night of stargazing guided by WVAC members. Bring a blanket or a chair and your biggest astronomy questions as they explore our orderly solar system and the dramatic behavior of massive celestial objects. Each gathering in this series is unique and shaped by the curiosity and imagination of those attending. Depending on wind, the program may feature telescope viewing or a guided constellation tour. Plans can change or be canceled due to weather, so check the WVAC event calendar for updates, and if cancellation is necessary you will be contacted no later than two hours beforehand. Dress for cool, potentially breezy conditions. The program is free, but a Discover Pass or a $10 daily parking permit is required. A Discover Pass may also be available through the NCW Library of Things. Park gates close at dusk; if they are closed, registration provides permission to pass through, and please close the gates behind you. To protect night vision, keep white lights off except for emergencies and use red lights when possible. When parking, face vehicles away from the beach to prevent headlights from illuminating the shoreline. Local author Kasey Safford returns to A Book for All Seasons for her second book signing, highlighting her debut fantasy novel, The Amulet of Undoing, an enemies to lovers adventure with a playful cast. The tale begins when Princess Luna’s coronation is derailed by an intruder whose deadly magic sweeps across the fairy realm of Celestia. With her friend Rhea, Luna seeks aid in the sprite kingdom of Durand and must work alongside King Caspar, a leader she distrusts despite his charm. Guided by the scholar Atlas, they pursue a legendary amulet rumored to reverse the devastation, launching a quest to gather three mystical items to trade to an undead adversary. The amulet demands a sacrifice that cannot be weighed or measured, and Luna must choose what she is willing to give up to protect her people. Kasey Safford lives in Washington with her husband and corgi. When not writing, she enjoys reading, watching Friends, baking, and plenty of coffee. 2026 Northwest Carving Academy

The Northwest Carving Academy is a carving event that provides instruction on hand and power carving. Held each year at the Kittitas Valley Event Center in Ellensburg, Washington, the academy features some of North Americas woodcarving instructors. The event includes a woodcarving school, vendors, an ice cream social, and a talent show.

BassICally Live Music at Lakeside Surf!

Enjoy live music from BassICally at Lakeside Surf, with a high-energy set that spans pop, country, rock, R&B, hip hop, funk, and EDM, including hits popularized by Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Adele, and more. The show takes place at a full‑service surf venue next to Slidewaters Waterpark, featuring food and drinks, a retail surf shop, sand volleyball, a large LED screen, lockers with changing areas, private VIP spaces, a hot tub for surfers, and a 16 meter Citywave. It is a summer soundtrack for surf sessions and relaxed time by the water.

Cashmere Clinic July 2026

A two day clinic focused on horsemanship welcomes riders of all experience levels and disciplines. Build confidence and deepen your partnership with your horse while working on soft, responsive cues, gaining clearer control of different parts of the horse, and practicing a mix of groundwork and mounted exercises that support steady progress. The fee is $500. Stallions are not permitted. Overnighting is available for an additional $35, payable to the arena.

Re/Evolution: Summerjam 2026 - Music & Camping Festival

Experience a 5-day music and camping festival. This event includes music, camping, workshops, and river access. It features a multi-genre lineup spanning jam bands, reggae, and electronic music. The festival grounds include direct access to the Stillaguamish River, and conscious workshops will also be available.

Bootcamp at The Barn

This bootcamp is a strength and conditioning class designed to help members meet their goals. The workouts include functional movements and utilize dumbbells, kettlebells, and bodyweight exercises. The class also focuses on endurance, incorporating rowers, jump ropes, box jumps, and battle ropes. Expert coaches are there to guide participants for optimal results.

Poppies & Coffee

Every Wednesday, participate in making poppies over coffee. The Senior Center is collaborating with the American Legion Auxiliary Post 10 to create poppies during the weekly coffee hour. This program supports Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, aiding veterans and their families. Your help is needed to create poppies and honor those who served.
