Intro to Meditation

Find some calm with an introductory meditation class at Massanutten Resort. In a world that often feels busy and loud, this session offers a quiet space to unwind while learning simple practices for relaxation. Greg Burns of Metta Vibrations leads an experiential overview of guided, silent, and sound meditation. Expect a brief discussion of the basics, then plenty of time to try each style. The class is designed for beginners and can be adjusted to match the experience and interests of participants. All participants may choose a yoga mat for lying down or a chair for sitting, and each attendee receives a Massanutten yoga towel to take home. No prior experience is required. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing is encouraged, and limiting caffeine beforehand may help. It is not necessary to bring anything, though a meditation crystal or blanket is welcome. The session takes place in the Yoga Room inside the Massanutten Fitness and Rec Center at Massanutten Resort. The cost is $30. Registration is available by visiting or calling The Market at Massanutten Station at 540.289.4098, and walk-ins are also welcome.

Buying In Today's Market

Buying in Today's Market is a free educational workshop that helps prospective homebuyers navigate current conditions with clarity. Hosted by Spencer Wenger, Realtor, and Chris Carson, Mortgage Loan Originator with Integrity Home Mortgage Corporation, the session explores what recent market trends mean for buyers, how delaying a purchase can affect overall cost, and how renting compares with owning when it comes to building wealth. Participants will also learn about advantages available to buyers right now, ways to understand interest rates and available financing, and practical strategies to make homeownership more attainable. It is designed for first-time buyers, people considering a move, and anyone curious about the housing market. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

Her+ Trail Ramble

Spend time on the Massanutten Western Slope with a femme-focused community trail run that welcomes women who are new to trails, BIPOC participants, nonbinary people, and trans women. An electronic waiver is required before taking part, and no parking pass is needed since a run leader can provide one upon arrival if you do not have one. This is a stay-together outing rather than a training session, and the group pauses to gather at each intersection. Plan for a 3-mile loop with the option to continue for another three. The route begins on double-track gravel toward the pond for about a mile and a half, then shifts to singletrack. Typical loops cover Boundary, Pond, and Creekside, then continue on Homestead and Red White + Blue. The meeting point is the Massanutten Western Slope parking lot. Weather updates and cancellations are shared on Facebook and Instagram stories at @svbcoalitionbike and @svbcoalition, and the run will be canceled if the Weather.com forecast shows a 40 percent or greater chance of storms. Group leaders include Abigail Brewer, Amanda Presgraves, Anna McCoy, Ashley Welch, and Caroline Prendergast.
