May Volunteer meeting

This volunteer gathering offers a chance to meet new people and coordinate upcoming food shares. Attendees will plan menus and consider any changes that might be needed for the effort. The meetup is set for Garden House coffee, with the Ivy Room intended if it is reserved. Those who wish to support can contribute via Cash App to $VTXFreeStore and include FNB or another food-related note so funds are directed to this project. The announcement notes that all money sent to that account goes to Mutual in Victoria.

Hometown Harvest on Main

The seventh annual Hometown Harvest on Main sets a welcoming table along Main Street for 150 guests with a family style meal featuring Texas barbecue beef, asparagus crab almondine, fresh salads, bread and a dessert honoring the 250th celebration. Craft beer and wine are served. Under the Cuero Municipal Library Pavilion, food, flower and herb demonstrations take place while live music creates a lively backdrop. Local shops contribute door prizes, and proceeds benefit DeWitt 4-H, DeWitt County GO TEXAN and the Mayor's Youth Council. Tickets are available through Eventbrite or in person with Denise Goebel at AgriLife Extension and Sandra Osman at Cuero Main Street.
