The second day opens with racers and vendors entering, tech inspection, and a drivers meeting, then moves into qualifying and eliminations for Sportsman, 7.70 Index, 6.70 Index, and 4x4 on 28s. Show N Shine judging takes place later in the day, finals are decided, and awards and photos close out the event. Show N Shine entries are $40 per class, with categories for Stock in near original condition, Hot Street for lightly modified builds, and All Out for SEMA style builds. Each category awards a trophy and prize for first place and a trophy for second. The dyno runs on the second day with three pulls for $100. Summer Rocketry Camp Grades 6-12

Geared to students entering grades seven to twelve, this summer program offers two rocketry tracks. The beginner option introduces the fundamentals of designing, building, and launching a rocket and does not require prior experience. The advanced option is intended for those who have previously completed basic work in a related program and focuses on constructing a more sophisticated rocket. Sessions are led by ASU Engineering faculty together with STEAM Central staff. A joint launch for both groups is planned, and plans may shift if weather requires it. Inspired by a mother who has turned heartbreak into a mission, it honors the life of her son while working to protect others. Games take place at the Boys & Girls Club, with free entry for JV and Varsity divisions for ages 4/5, 6/7, and 8/9. Adult teams of up to five players are $5 per person. Prizes include champion rings, swag bags, gift cards, and medals. The focus is on controlled sparring with resisting partners to pressure test techniques and compare approaches. Church Camp

Designed for students in grades 3 through 9, this church camp at Camp Butman uses a playful focus on remarkable animals from around the world to show that differences are worth celebrating. The theme redefines weird as wonderfully unique and truly their own, while emphasizing Jesus’ steady love for each child, including those who sometimes feel out of place. Registration is $275, increasing to $350 depending on when you register.

San Angelo's A Star-Spangled Banner Concert & Fireworks

Downtown San Angelo, Inc. and San Angelo LIVE! present a patriotic concert and fireworks celebration at the Bill Aylor, Jr. Memorial RiverStage in downtown San Angelo, part of the sixth annual community festivities. General admission is free with first-come, first-served seating on the grass or bleachers. Upgraded experiences include VIP tables for eight near the stage with premium seating, a barbecue dinner, homemade ice cream, access to a dedicated beer and wine bar, and VIP restrooms, as well as 10-by-10 cabanas along the Concho River behind the stage that accommodate twelve and provide shade, reserved tables and chairs, barbecue, ice cream, drinks, and other exclusive amenities. Prices will be announced, wristbands are issued at the VIP gate, and reservations are available by calling Downtown San Angelo, Inc. at (325) 655-2345. The VIP menu features a Texas barbecue spread centered on pulled pork sandwiches with classic fixings, followed by Sonny Cleere's Memorial Ice Cream Party with fresh nitrogen-churned desserts from the Arctic N7 Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Company. Downtown businesses are invited to participate as more than 12,000 attendees are expected throughout the area, and general admission space is available both at the RiverStage and across the river at Neff's Park on a first-come basis. Coolers are permitted inside the RiverStage, but glass containers and alcohol in coolers are not allowed under city ordinances.
