Botanical Art
Discover the art of botanical illustration in a hands-on session led by local artist Barbara Woods, presented in partnership with the Ellis County Art Association. Learn foundational methods for sketching leaves and flowers, then build color and detail using watercolor pencils and fine-line markers. All materials are provided. No prior experience is needed. Adults only. Registration is required and opens one week before the program.

Battle Axes will set up its mobile trailer at Bearded Ax Brewery for an outing that pairs axe throwing with food and drinks. Attendees can enjoy a beer or a bite to eat and spend time tossing axes.

Free Food Distribution | 4th Wednesdays
Free groceries are available through the Food Distribution Ministry at the Cedar Hill campus. This location offers a distribution on the fourth Wednesday of each month, and there is also a giveaway on the second Saturday at the DeSoto location. The event welcomes anyone who comes for assistance. Additional free resources are listed on the organization’s website.
