The effort continues until one runner steps off, with the remaining runner taking the win and the other making a $500 donation to a chosen charity. The miles also power community support, as supporters can pledge any dollar amount per mile to participating nonprofits, whether $5, $20, $50, or another figure. For example, a ten mile finish paired with a ten dollar pledge would generate one hundred dollars for the selected organization, and more miles mean more funds raised. Participating nonprofits include Brazoria County Alliance for Children, with additional organizations expected to join. A live audience at OTG Fitness and streaming coverage on Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms will share the conversation, the race, and the moment someone finally presses stop. The Slags perform at T-Bone Toms in Kemah, a spot that began as a meat market in the 1960s then became T-Bone Tom’s Bar-B-Que in 1974. The menu features hand-cut steaks and seafood, chicken fried steak, gumbo and armadillo eggs, plus burgers ground in house, fresh chicken, pork chops and Southern sides. Brisket, ribs and house-made sausage are smoked over oak, and dishes are prepared fresh each day. Live music is offered six nights a week, providing the backdrop for this show.

3rd Annual Recovery Picnic and Volleyball Tournament ~ Sober Living Style

2026-2027 Company Auditions

Elite Dance Academy hosts company auditions for the 2026 to 2027 season. A required parent meeting will be held in advance, with one session for ages 4 to 7 and another for ages 8 and up. Auditions are organized by age groups for ages 4 to 7, 8 to 10, and 11 and older. Dancers should attend the session that corresponds to their age as of the organizer’s stated cutoff. An audition form is available.

Gimmie a Bark - Cinco de Mayo Adoption Event and Pug Races

A festive Cinco de Mayo adoption event pairs with the annual Pug Races at Gimme A Bark. Watch pugs compete across multiple races while placing $1 bets that count as tickets. Before each race, pick the pug you think will win, match the bandana color to the corresponding bucket, and drop in half of your ticket. After the whistle, the first pug to cross the finish line determines the winning bucket. One ticket drawn from that bucket earns half of the betting pot, with the other half benefiting PugHearts Rescue. Races continue with fresh tickets before each round, with a minimum of three and a maximum of five pugs per race, and some rounds include two tickets drawn for door prizes. Spectators may cheer from the sidelines or call to their favorite racer from the finish line. Handlers may not pull, tug, push, or carry any pug. Any pug or pug mix is eligible to race, and other breeds are welcome if leashed and comfortable in a social setting. Refreshments and nachos will be available for a donation. Adoptable pugs will be on site, and those interested in adoption are encouraged to complete an application in advance for pre approval.

At Walter Hall Park, a hands-on volunteer effort with The Perry Family YMCA and the League City Lions Club supports the Galveston County Food Bank. Activities take place outdoors, and first-time participants receive a brief orientation covering key food handling and participation guidelines. 5th Annual White Linen Night—A Local Art Affair

An evening of art and music unfolds beneath the live oaks as League City presents the fifth annual White Linen Night, a local art affair set throughout the Historic District with League Park as the starting point. Streets become an art crawl with nearly 100 artist booths, while live musicians perform along the route. Attendees can explore a wide range of styles and mediums, watch artists at work during demonstrations, and see Houston Art Cars showcasing distinctive vehicles. Families will find an art-focused Kid Zone in League Park with guided activities. Food trucks offer plenty of dining options, and local beer, wine, and cider are available. The white linen theme pays homage to a New Orleans tradition of wearing white while socializing outdoors in the summer.

White Linen Night - A Local Art Affair

White Linen Night turns the Historic District into a celebration of art, music, and the creative spirit. Tradition calls for light white attire while attendees stroll beneath live oaks, sip refreshing drinks, enjoy delicious food, listen to live performances, and discover the work of local artists. LCHS will open its museums so visitors can experience history and take a cool break from the summer heat. A popular Good Humor man will be fundraising with classic ice cream served from a vintage cart. Member artists have crafted hand painted parchment fans and parasols that are available for purchase. Live music will fill the Garden Classroom, where shaded seating offers a comfortable place to relax. LCHS supports White Linen Night as a tribute to the creativity of the community and old League City.

Sunset Bazaar | Night Market

This second anniversary celebration features more than 50 local makers, bakers, artists, artisans, and boutiques. Live music from Anna Clarke will accompany the festivities, and food will be available from Slab & Spice and Best Taco #2. A door prize raffle will award one winner an entire table filled with merchandise from vendors. Parking and admission are free.

June 2026 CLGMS Monthly Meeting - SPEAKER TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

The CLGMS monthly meeting at Helen Hall Library will feature a speaker to be announced soon, with details to be updated when available. A show and tell is planned, offering a friendly setting for participants to share rock and mineral specimens, jewelry, or other items, ask questions, and take their pieces home afterward. Attendance is open to non-members. Membership is available for $15 for adults, $20 for a family at the same address, and free for honorary members age 70 and above. Membership includes a monthly newsletter and helps support scholarships and school grants.

A professional DJ provides entertainment, playing popular music and requests along with the official fireworks soundtrack. A cash bar is available for drinks. This family friendly outing provides a water view of the show. Please note that the fireworks are weather dependent for Firework Fridays at the Kemah Boardwalk, however the dinner cruise will still sail if the fireworks are canceled.

The Josh Paul Foundation's 4th Annual Golf Tournament

Hosted by The Josh Paul Foundation at South Shore Harbour Country Club, this 4th annual golf tournament raises funds for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that honors the legacy of educator Joshua Paul Schwarz and supports the advancement of education through music and health and fitness events. All proceeds benefit the foundation’s scholarship fund and its ongoing activities in CCISD, PISD, and BISD, helping graduating seniors who have faced adversity continue their education beyond high school. The format is a Texas scramble with teams of four, and individual golfers will be paired to complete a foursome. Check-in takes place inside the clubhouse, and participants can warm up on the driving range before play begins. Breakfast and lunch are provided in the Main Dining Hall, and cash is recommended for bar cart service, mulligans, and raffle prize drawings.
