Free Labyrinth Walking Meditation

Set intentions for the month ahead with guided meditative reflections while walking a single, winding path. Participants are invited to support one another and focus less on a list of wants and more on the feelings they hope to cultivate. This gentle practice can nurture both physical and emotional well-being. A labyrinth is an ancient pattern that symbolizes completeness. It is not a puzzle with choices or dead ends, and you do not need to figure anything out. You simply follow the route to the center and then back out, allowing the steady pace to quiet the mind and encourage insight. Found in many cultures, labyrinths have long been used for contemplation, grounding, and healing, bringing people together on a shared journey. Unlike a maze that demands analysis, a labyrinth engages intuition and creativity, asking only one question at the threshold... will you step onto the path toward balance and wholeness. Location will be shared during registration.

Monte Montgomery and more

Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe hosts an intimate performance featuring Austin guitarist Monte Montgomery with guest Marina Rocks. Montgomery is known for precise acoustic technique, singing harmonics, a strong rhythmic pulse, and a clear melodic focus, paired with a warm vocal tone. By 2001 he had earned four consecutive best acoustic guitarist honors at the Austin Music Awards during SXSW, and he has appeared on PBS programs including Austin City Limits, CD Highway, and Texas Music Cafe. His writing reflects a storyteller’s approach shaped by deep listening to Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Bob Dylan, and his touch has drawn comparisons to Mark Knopfler and Bruce Cockburn, with roots in the Texas lineage of B.W. Stevenson and Shake Russell and with pop inspirations such as Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Wonder, and the Neville Brothers. His catalog spans fleet showcases and tender ballads, from the drive of Hopin’ That You’d Slow Down and the reflective Magnolia to the relationship tensions of Tug of War and the expansive arc of All on Me. The Old Quarter is a true listening room, and loud conversation during the performance is not allowed.

Slow Burn: Jar, Bottle, and Box Magic

Explore the enduring power of vessel magic in a hands-on course devoted to jars, bottles, and boxes. Discover how to match the container to your purpose, choosing a jar to encourage growth, a bottle to provide protection, or a box to keep something concealed. Practice layering intentions by combining herbs, crystals, curios, and liquids to build complex workings that develop over time. Learn methods for sealing and energizing your creations with wax, sigils, and breath so they stay active for months or even years. The session also covers the ethics of binding and sweetening, including the use of honey and vinegar jars, and offers guidance on how to retire a spell safely and respectfully once its task is complete. By the end, you will be ready to design long-term spells, select, fill, and seal the right vessel for your aim, and maintain and feed your work so it continues to hold power. Whether shaping a honey jar to invite sweetness or crafting a box for household protection, you will leave with contained practices you can use confidently and the insight to know when to let them build slowly and when, and how, to release them.

Old 97's - Strand Summer Series

Old 97’s take the stage at Saengerfest Park as part of the Strand Summer Series, a lineup of free shows set in historic downtown Galveston. The Dallas-born band, fronted by Rhett Miller, helped define alt country with smart, literate songwriting and a live show known for high energy. Their blend of twang, punk urgency, and power-pop hooks powered albums like Too Far to Care and Fight Songs, and they remain a touring force whose storytelling and melodic punch have influenced American roots rock. Guests can elevate the evening with a VIP upgrade that includes two complimentary drink tickets, access to a reserved viewing area, a pre-show meet-and-greet, and additional perks. The VIP section is located on the north side of Saengerfest Park, with signage and check-in at the beer and wine tent. All tickets are non-refundable. For a seamless getaway, VIP packages can be paired with a Saturday night stay at The Tremont House, offering quality, luxury accommodations in the vibrant historic district along the Texas coast. Hotel bundles include admission for two to the reserved VIP area. Galveston’s deep connection to the arts is reflected in the work of Galveston Historical Foundation, which advances preservation, maritime heritage, museums, and community redevelopment. The city is also recognized by the Texas Music Office as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community, highlighting its support for the music industry and its rich musical heritage.
