Gravel Night Ride

Designed for gravel riders of all experience levels, from newcomers to athletes preparing for a race. The group departs from the shop, eases in on bikeways, then pushes the pace on the levee, with several regroup stops along the way. Strong lights are required. Bring navigation, such as Google Maps on your phone or a preloaded route on a GPS device. The route covers about 23 miles at a pace of roughly 13 to 18 mph. After returning, participants often gather at the shop to enjoy drinks, snacks, and conversation. Gravel bikes are available to rent from the shop. To reserve a bike, text 281 944 9164.

Incoming freshmen should present an eighth grade ID, current students in grades 9 through 12 are welcome, and this year’s graduates may attend. Line dance lessons will be offered by Rhythm Inc Dance Studio, and DJ Kyxx will keep the main room energized while patio games add to the experience. A $25 cover charge applies. Active Cycling Century Series Ride

Set out from Active Cycling for a century ride with options for different paces. The A group has no speed cap and suits riders seeking a very fast effort. The B group moves up to about 22 mph with a steady, strong rhythm. A C group with a shorter route is planned and will be confirmed. This is a drop ride. Rest stops are planned around mile 42 at Chevron 290 and mile 77 at Shell Monaville Express. Front and rear lights are required, and riders without lights cannot participate. Strong riders are encouraged to take longer pulls. Helmets are mandatory, traffic laws must be followed, and courteous group etiquette is expected. Bring spares and basic tools, and check your tubeless sealant if you use it. Participation is at your own risk, and by riding you agree to hold organizers, ride leaders, and fellow participants harmless for any personal or equipment damage.

Keller Williams Premier Katy Labor Day 5K

A community run in Katy, Texas pairs a chip-timed 5K on a certified route with a fun, untimed 1K for kids. Formerly known as the Back to School 5K, the event directs all proceeds to The Ballard House and Ainsley’s Angels of America. Every participant receives a race shirt and a bib with a timing chip. Later registrants may not be guaranteed a shirt or their preferred size, though efforts will be made to accommodate requests up to race day. Awards recognize overall and masters winners, as well as age group champions in 10-year brackets. Kids who complete the 1K receive a finisher prize. The Ballard House, a Katy-based facility, and Ainsley’s Angels of America are the beneficiaries of race proceeds.

Presented by Ember South Entertainment, Everclear brings a live outdoor concert to The Wildcatter Saloon in Katy, TX, with support from Trackside. This event is open to ages 15 and up, and anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a guardian. General admission is priced at $32.50 in advance and $40 on the day of the show.
