Spring Wreath Workshop @ Hoppin’ RH

Celebrate the season at Hoppin’ Rock Hill with a hands-on wreath workshop led by Sweet Carolina Wreath Boutique. Create a custom spring design using thoughtfully selected seasonal florals, accents, and ribbons, with expert guidance provided throughout the session. During registration, participants choose a base that suits their style: a 14-inch grapevine option for $70, an 18-inch grapevine option for $80, or an 18-inch wooden-bead option for $90. Each ticket covers a design that spans approximately half to three-quarters of a round base. Workshops are nonrefundable, but if plans change, the ticket value can be applied to a future event or a wreath order. A minimum of five participants is required, and the workshop may be canceled or rescheduled if that minimum is not met.

Strawberry Week Celebration

37th Annual Juried Competition | Call for Artists

The Arts Council of York County hosts the 37th Annual Juried Competition at the Center for the Arts, welcoming artists nationwide who are 18 or older. Entries must be original, completed within the past two years, and not previously exhibited in the Center for the Arts, Dalton Gallery. All media are considered, including video, and each artist may submit up to four works. Submission instructions and guidelines are available on the Arts Council’s website. The competition is sponsored by Kathy and Larry Wilson in honor of Elizabeth Louise Dunlap Patrick.

🎨 Homeschool Art Studio – Grades 6-9th (Ages 11–15)

At Luca Studio & Gallery, homeschoolers in grades 6 through 9, ages 11 to 15, can participate in a weekly 1.5-hour studio class that nurtures creativity and confidence. Guided by Kelly Lucarelli, who holds a BFA, an MAT in K-12 Art Education, and AP Art & Design certification, students of all experience levels build technique and develop their artistic voice. The curriculum centers on two-dimensional work, with hands-on exploration of drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and mixed media while reinforcing the elements and principles of design. Some projects are completed in a single session, while others continue over several weeks to allow for deeper investigation and refinement. Class size is limited to eight students for personalized attention. Tuition is $150 per month, and a one-time supply fee of $60 covers all materials. Enrollment is ongoing, and space is limited.

B&C Spring League

An eight week league returns with weekly qualifying tournaments. Each session features six rounds of group-based match play, and only your top six results across the season will count toward standings. When qualifying ends, the highest half of participants move on to a single elimination final using a best of five format. Participation is flexible and there is no fee to join.

BMX Racing League Session 4 Saturday May 2

Explore the excitement of BMX racing at Rock Hill Supercross BMX with Session 4 of the BMX Racing League, created for newcomers in a friendly, supportive setting. Families can check out the track, try a few laps, and connect with the local community with no pressure and no cost to give it a try. Free loaner bikes and helmets are available, and instruction is tailored for beginners. Kids ages 3 to 17 are welcome to ride, and parents can participate too. As the full-time lead investigator and producer of the series In the Shadow of Big Red Eye, he offers case studies and insights from the field. 🎨 Homeschool Art Studio – Grades 6-9th (Ages 11–15)

Designed for homeschoolers in grades 6 through 9, this weekly 1.5-hour studio class at Luca Studio & Gallery offers a welcoming place for ages 11 to 15 to explore art, strengthen technique, and build confidence. Participants experiment with a range of two-dimensional media such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and mixed media while studying design fundamentals. Some projects are completed in a single session, while others extend across multiple weeks for deeper practice and refinement. Class size is intentionally small with a maximum of eight students. Tuition is $150 per month, plus a one-time $60 supply fee that covers all materials. Instruction is led by Kelly Lucarelli, who holds a BFA and an MAT in K-12 Art Education and is AP Art & Design certified. Before the performance, attendees can explore a silent auction offering more than 200 items, including family photography sessions and event tickets, with all proceeds supporting the Nation Ford Band program. A bake sale will offer sweet treats alongside complimentary alumni-sponsored lemonade in regular or strawberry flavors. The Nation Ford Band Store will be open with items for next season or keepsakes for seniors. This workshop focuses on teen driving safety. It includes tips for teens on what to do when they are pulled over by a police officer.

B&C Spring League

The league returns with an eight week qualifying season made up of weekly tournaments. Each week features six rounds of group match play, and only your top six results count toward your standing. When qualifying ends, the top half of players move on to a single elimination final decided in best of five matches. Participation is free, and there is no requirement to attend every week, so players can take part as their schedules allow.

Ribbon Cutting: Piedmont Medical Center

Piedmont Medical Center team members and community members will gather for a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the new Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Fort Mill campus. The program will include a short ceremony with refreshments and guided tours of the advanced NICU. This milestone is part of a broader realignment aimed at increasing capacity and expanding care. Obstetrics, labor and delivery, and Level III neonatal services will be centered in Fort Mill, while the Rock Hill campus will grow its critical care offerings, including trauma, surgical, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular services.

TCES, TCES PTO, TCFD, TCPD, and Tega Cay Healthy Kids present a community ride and roll to Tega Cay Elementary in honor of National Bike and Roll to School Day. Families arrive on bikes, scooters, or other wheels to build healthy habits, practice safe travel, and support the environment. The Tega Cay Police Department offers cocoa and conversation in the Living Memorial Gardens, and firefighters greet students at the school entrances with friendly fist bumps. Parents can use the morning as a chance to reinforce cycling, rolling, and crosswalk safety with their children. Those who live farther away can park at Turner Field, Trailhead Park, or city hall and roll the rest of the way. Mammoth March South Carolina 2026

Participate in a 20-mile or 30-mile march at Kings Mountain State Park. The 20-mile loop explores scenic trails within Kings Mountain State Park, including the Kings Mountain Rec Trail & CCC Trail. The 30-mile route extends into Kings Mountain National Military Park. The final routes will be available close to the event. The total elevation gain is around 1,500 ft. The terrain includes hiking trails, dirt trails, horse trails, gravel roads, and forest floor.

Big Shots Rock the Rock

This is a basketball tournament for boys teams, from 10U to 17U. The event is designed for elite, competitive, and developmental level teams. The entry fee ranges from $325.00 to $475.00, and each team is guaranteed to play at least three games. The tournament is exposure certified.

Throughout the day, visitors can browse and shop from local artisans, makers, and downtown businesses, enjoy outdoor games for all ages, and grab food and drinks from nearby restaurants. The celebration encourages everyone to explore downtown, discover shopping and dining, and share in the creative energy that draws visitors from surrounding areas.

Topless Day 2026

Celebrate Topless Day with a scenic group drive that sets off from Walmart Lake Wylie and heads to Wiseman’s View. Open-air vehicles are encouraged, yet any properly running vehicle is welcome, not just Jeeps. The route is a green trail considered suitable for most vehicles, and the trip is expected to take most of the day. Pack a cooler and snacks, and plan on a stop for food on the return trip. Topless Day flags will be available for $25 with a fundraising target of $500. If that goal is reached, Barricade Offroad will match with another $500 for a total of $1,000 that will be directed to helping people in need. Each flag purchase includes stickers. This is a social, daylong ride focused on trail time, road time, and community.

Baby goat yoga at Anne Springs Close Greenway

Enjoy a playful baby goat yoga session featuring the newest spring arrivals. The class is designed for beginners and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, followed by time for photos and extra poses. The event will be held at the Graham cabin. Tickets are available through the Springs website.

Charity Scavenger Hunt

A charity scavenger hunt sets out from Papa Doc’s Shore Club on the water. Registration takes place at the venue, and the list of route stops will be announced as the event approaches. Participants return to Papa Doc’s Shore Club with completed sheets after visiting the stops by boat or other watercraft. The stop that raises the most money will be recognized, and the overall charity ride winner will be acknowledged. Raffles and a 50/50 drawing are planned at Papa Doc’s Shore Club before and after the ride.

BBQ Cook Off Fundraiser

A Hand Up Thrift Store is hosting a BBQ cook off benefiting A Hand Up’s Fresh Start Farm. Plates are $12, and barbecue by the pound is $15. Entries will be judged by a panel of four, and an audience vote will name a fan favorite. Competitors may register to cook, and attendees can enjoy the food. It offers a full day of golf, fellowship, and support for a charitable cause. Unlimited beer and beverages are included along with lunch and dinner, and the schedule features numerous games and chances to win. Hole in one prizes range from a new car and $10,000 cash to Titleist Pro V1s for a year and a TaylorMade Qi4D driver. A putting contest awards a 7‑night resort vacation. The Fairways & Greenies Challenge offers up to $1,400 in winnings based on participation, and men’s and women’s longest drive winners receive a round of golf or a spa day. The $150 registration includes a round of golf, free driving range balls, a box lunch, unlimited beer and beverages throughout the day, hors d’oeuvres and dinner following the round, and a cash bar during cocktail hour. Shared Flow Yoga

This yoga class welcomes everyone to participate in a space that encourages community and connection. MarineMax Lake Wylie Poker Run!

This poker run on Lake Wylie blends cruising, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Participants make their way to a series of stops around the lake, pick up a playing card at each location, and compare hands at the finish to determine the winner. Boaters in sport boats, pontoon boats, and cruisers are welcome, and the route is set up so all experience levels can take part. Campers will create several pieces to keep, which will be fired and finished by the studio. Completed work will be ready for pickup in about two to three weeks. This half-day camp welcomes beginners as well as kids who already enjoy working with clay. All materials are included, and the cost is $350 per camper.

At the Anne Springs Close Greenway Horse Barn, a two-day clinic with Robbie Potter centers on relationship-first horsemanship grounded in trust, clarity, and mutual understanding. Through practical, adaptable exercises, participants refine timing, develop feel, and sharpen awareness. Riders explore what influences their horse’s responses and how steady, easy-to-read cues can shape them, with the goal of a soft, willing horse and a rider who is calm, attentive, and confident. Welcoming to all experience levels and relevant across disciplines, the clinic supports pairs who are starting young or green horses as well as those polishing long-standing partnerships. Miss Sweet Summer '26

Miss Sweet Summer 2026 is a pageant directed by Peyton Hood that features Beauty and an Open Outfit of Choice category called OOC1, with an additional optional round, OOC2. Age divisions span from infants through adults, with a separate division for boys. Supremes are awarded across breakdowns of 0 to 2, 3 to 6, 7 to 10, and 11 and up, along with a boys breakdown. The $135 package includes Beauty and OOC1, side awards for categories such as best eyes, hair, smile and dress, divisional Queen or King titles, four Mini Supremes, four Grand Supremes, four Elite Supremes, one Elite King and one Mega Elite. All supreme titles are included in the package, and every participant receives a crown and a special gift. Optional add ons are available. Overall Best Dress, Most Beautiful, Personality Supremes and Outfit of Choice can each be entered for an additional fee. Photogenic Supremes are offered with pictures judged separately from the overall score, and you can submit more than one photo. The Elite Team option lets two contestants combine scores for a chance at a team title, and both teammates receive an award if they win. All of these titles can be double crowned. OOC2 can be added for a separate fee, may replace the OOC1 score if it is higher and also counts toward an extra group side award. Community service is recognized through the Saybens Spirit award. Donations such as personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, nonperishables and cases of water go toward Ground 40 ministries. Contributors of more than 25 items receive a gift, contributors of more than 100 items receive a tiara and award, and the top collector earns a 20 inch crown, a sash and a gift. People’s Choice is determined by one dollar votes turned in at registration. The highest total receives a 20 inch crown, a sash and a prize, and runners up receive a tiara and a gift. Hair and makeup are open to personal preference. On site vendors are available and should be contacted directly, including Hannah Flowers Chapman, Sonya Lomax, Carolyne and Amber Kiser and Debra Hall. Deposits can be sent via Venmo to Peyton\_Hood22 or via Cash App to PeyyHood. Judges’ decisions are final, and ties may be broken at their discretion. Photography and video are not permitted in the competition area because a professional photographer will be capturing the event. Unsportsmanlike conduct or providing false information can result in disqualification without refund. There is no fallback date. Contestants compete the age they are on pageant day and may move up an age group but not down. Age groups or breakdowns may be split or combined if needed. Beauty includes a group lineup. Elite Day Camp II

Elite Day Camp II is designed for athletes who will be in 8th through 12th grade in the Fall 2026 school year and are seeking advanced volleyball training for upcoming club tournaments as well as middle and high school tryouts. Participants will focus on serving, passing, attacking, blocking, setting, and defense through targeted skill sessions. The schedule features position-specific drills, 6 on 6, and other live gameplay variations to apply techniques in competitive scenarios. This camp is recommended for players with previous high-level club and travel volleyball experience.

At Windjammer Beach Park, this youth camp introduces ages 7 to 12 to the sport of log rolling with guidance from certified instructors. Using portable Key Log equipment, participants build confidence as they learn essential footwork and balance, play engaging log rolling games, and become familiar with basic competition rules. Sessions are structured as half days each day, creating an approachable way for beginners to try the sport and steadily improve.

5-Day Sew & Glow Kids Sewing Retreat | June 23-27, 2026

Young makers spend five focused days learning to sew under the guidance of the Sew & Glow Dream Team. Designed for ages 9 to 12 and 13 to 17, the retreat builds confidence step by step as students get comfortable with sewing machines, explore fabric, thread, and notions, and practice safe, effective techniques. Participants begin with simple projects and progress throughout the week, completing a series of creations that steadily grow their skills. Each student is assigned a brand new machine on the first day, receives a full orientation, and uses that same machine all week, so new skills become second nature. Project kits are included to keep the experience stress free... fabrics, patterns, and notions are provided so all attention stays on learning and creating. The week concludes with a cheerful showcase where students present what they have made alongside classmates and instructors. Registration is $350 and includes instruction, use of the sewing machine, and all project kits and notions.
