Typical tasks include yard work such as raking leaves, pulling weeds, and trimming bushes, along with painting front porches or doors and pressure washing exterior surfaces. The work happens outdoors and involves light physical activity. No special experience is needed, since Habitat staff provide the tools, materials, and guidance on site. This community effort offers opportunities to meet homeowners and neighbors, strengthen connections, and keep the neighborhood looking its best. Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty, and to bring a positive, community-minded attitude. An online volunteer information and liability waiver is requested before a shift. The specific meeting spot within Park Circle will be shared by email ahead of time. Build with Pride promotes inclusion, unity, and housing justice while celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. This community sendoff to summer and kickoff to the school year features complimentary activities for children, hands-on games, live music and entertainment, family-friendly vendors, and a variety of food trucks. School supply giveaways will be available while supplies last. Throughout the park, kids can make crafts, play, create, and explore in a welcoming setting designed to help families gear up for the classroom. Recognized as a cherished Goose Creek tradition, the celebration brings together local organizations, businesses, and families for a lively night with something for everyone, whether the draw is games, food, music, or simply time at the park.

Songwriters and music lovers can look forward to a focused listening room setting at Public Works Art Center. After that, the open mic offers multiple performance slots, a featured set by St. Banjo, and additional slots to wrap up the program. Space is limited, so arriving early increases the chance to get on the list. Beverages and light snacks are available by donation, with proceeds benefiting Community Music Collective and Public Works Art Center.
Summer Crafts for Kids: Friendship Bracelets

City of Hanahan Golf Tournament
Golfers and supporters come together for the City of Hanahan’s annual tournament at Yeamans Hall Club, blending friendly competition with a community purpose. Proceeds benefit the Hanahan Parks and Recreation Department, helping fund local programs, events, and spaces. Highlights include exclusive access to play at Yeamans Hall Club, a $20,000 hole in one prize, opportunities to network, and plenty of on course fun. Entry is limited to 20 teams, and only team registrations are accepted. Each team must have four players, and a completed form listing all player names and emails along with full payment is required to secure a spot. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations. Registration is handled only through the Hanahan Recreation Department, so avoid third party sign ups and potential scams.

Vendors of many kinds are welcome, including artisans, boutiques with handmade goods, bakers and other food businesses, family friendly activities such as face painting, service based companies promoting their work, nonprofits and community groups, along with sponsors and businesses interested in donating, collaborating, or getting involved.
SUMMERVILLE PUNK FLEA MARKET
An alternative flea market fills Exchange Park with DIY makers and independent artists offering a wide range of curiosities. Browse racks of vintage clothing, flip through vinyl, cassettes and CDs, hunt for toys, original artwork and taxidermy, and discover handmade jewelry, retro video games, comic books, VHS tapes, horror and B-movie memorabilia, oddities and more. This all-ages market uses both indoor and outdoor spaces. General admission is $10 and covers both days, with free entry for kids 12 and under. Entry is available at the door only, with no pre-sales. Cash and cards are accepted for admission, all vendors take cash and most also accept cards. Pets are not allowed due to venue rules. Food and beverage details will be announced.
