At The Church at LifePark, Katie from Katie’s Krops shares how a tiny cabbage seed led to a nationwide ministry that provides healthy, organic food to people in need. Bring a 10 to 12 inch diameter pot halfway filled with potting soil for a hands-on session with Julie Reagor of CCA and Dragonfly Designs to create a spring container garden. A limited number of pots will be available for purchase for those who do not bring their own. A salad dinner is available for $15 per person, and the price includes the activity fee. Third Act

Following a previous talk on area lighthouses, Shelby returns with a presentation focused on German U-boats off the Charleston coast. Drawing on archival U-boat records and mission logs, the program looks closely at exhibits at the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center that state U-751 and U-455 entered Charleston Harbor in 1942 to lay mines. The discussion weighs the accuracy of those claims, considers whether there were additional incursions, and explores what else the historical record reveals about this hidden threat. A covered dish luncheon is included. Guests may bring a dish of their choice, and chicken tenders are provided.

Charleston Area Ducks Unlimited Spring Firearm Frenzy!

Held at Omar Shrine, Charleston Area Ducks Unlimited Spring Firearm Frenzy is organized in partnership with the Charleston Ducks Unlimited Chapter to benefit ducks. A $100 ticket includes event entry, dinner, and beer, wine, and soft drinks, and also enters the holder in a 15 gun raffle. Only 150 tickets will be sold, offering roughly a one in ten chance to win a new firearm. Each ticket holder may bring one guest for $35. Guest tickets are not entered in the gun raffle but may take part in other raffles during the event. Attendance is not required to win. If a winner is not present when the drawing occurs, the next highest valued prize available will be awarded. All firearms must be picked up at Allied Arms SC, the local FFL dealer. Chuck Nation Band: Sacred Bluegrass Music Concert

The Chuck Nation Band brings a concert of sacred bluegrass to the Sanctuary, showcasing rich harmonies and virtuosic playing. Based in Gainesville, Georgia, near Atlanta, the group has appeared on renowned stages, including a 2015 debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City and a performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. The band earned a nomination for Artist of the Year at the 2016 Georgia Music Awards. Bandleader Chuck is a member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame and has garnered multiple state titles on fiddle and mandolin in Georgia, as well as a Louisiana state fiddle championship. Their travels have taken them to audiences in Ireland, Japan, China, and Argentina, and they represented the United States at the International Silk Road Folk Festival in Inner Mongolia. Since forming in 2012, they have performed in more than 800 concerts. Expect a program that weaves original songs, traditional pieces, gospel selections, and instrumentals. The ensemble has presented The High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass over 80 times, often partnering with composer Dr. Tim Sharp and ensembles such as the Atlanta Master Chorale, Greenville Chorale, and Montgomery Chorale. Recorded projects include On A High High Mountain, Thinking About Home, and Beneath The Tennessee Moon. Additionally, there will be a presentation of Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass featuring the band, composer Dr. Tim Sharp, and the MPPC Choir.

Young players can build skills and confidence at a spring soccer league hosted at I’On Club in South Mt. Pleasant. Designed for boys and girls ages 18 months to 6 years, each meeting begins with a playful, story-driven warmup using a soccer ball to spark movement and learning, followed by a friendly small sided game or kick around. Sessions are grouped by age with developmentally appropriate lengths, from 30 minutes for the youngest, 45 minutes for preschoolers, and 1 hour for older participants. The season spans five weeks and includes professional coaching, field rental, a numbered jersey, an end-of-season medal, and time with Bob the Soccer Ball. CCSD 2026-27 Student Registration

Spring Litter Sweep #5

IOP Cleanup Crew hosts a community litter cleanup that begins with a welcome session in partnership with the South Carolina Aquarium, then teams collect trash and document findings in the aquarium's Litter Journal. Participants are asked to contribute at least 30 minutes of cleanup time. All materials are provided, it is open to everyone, and student service hours can be verified. After volunteering, a discount at an island restaurant is available. Those planning to return can pick up a magnet that provides free parking in city lots. Weather updates and potential cancellations may be posted on Facebook. If thunder, lightning or other safety concerns are present, do not go onto the beach. In recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month, LifeBridge Church is hosting Life Line Screening, a leading national provider of preventive health screenings. Every 40 seconds someone has a stroke, yet as many as 80 percent can be prevented, and these screenings focus on identifying key risks early. The exams are designed to be swift, painless, and cost effective. Core evaluations look for carotid artery blockage, atrial fibrillation, and high blood pressure, which are three major contributors to stroke risk. Additional options include checks for abdominal aortic aneurysm and for hardening of the arteries in the legs. A bone density assessment to gauge osteoporosis risk is available for both men and women. She Tris returns to The I'On Club for a milestone year, offering an all-women’s sprint event designed to welcome first-timers and seasoned athletes alike. The course unfolds in the I'On neighborhood, known for marsh views and graceful homes, and features a 200 yard pool swim, a 9 mile bike, and a 2 mile run. Swimmers move lane to lane from one end of the pool to the other, then head out for a two loop bike ride on open roads where traffic is generally light. The run follows an out and back route along calm streets and lakeside paths, flat from start to finish with pockets of shade. Multiple race formats are available. Choose the traditional triathlon, a relay option that lets teammates split the legs, an aquathlon that pairs the swim with the run, or a duathlon that combines a short run, the bike, and a final run. These options create approachable entry points for multisport and make it easy for different generations to take part together. Registration includes support before and after the finish line, such as a complimentary training plan, educational clinics, group encouragement during preparation, a She Tris swim cap and shirt, finish line photos, a celebratory gathering at the end, and a keepsake to mark the accomplishment. A virtual format is also offered for those who prefer to complete the distances elsewhere, with the ability to upload results, receive a downloadable finisher certificate, and access local pickup or mailing for race packets. Virtual results are not part of the awards. The mission of She Tris is to provide a supportive space for women and girls to take on triathlon, no matter their background or experience, fostering confidence that extends well beyond race day. Youth participants must be at least 10 years old. The She Tris series also holds events in Mount Pleasant, South Charlotte, Summerville, Huntersville, and Chapel Hill.

Set at Mount Pleasant Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, this celebration supports Barricade Go Topless Day, a global Jeep tradition that marks the start of spring by taking off the tops. Now in its 19th year, the occasion has inspired hundreds of gatherings worldwide, from 4x4 outings and trail cleanups to parades and show and shine events. Spring Litter Sweep #6

IOP Cleanup Crew hosts a beach litter sweep that begins with a welcome session with partners from the South Carolina Aquarium, then transitions into a hands-on cleanup along the shore. Participants work in teams to collect debris and record findings in the aquarium’s Litter Journal, and all necessary gear is provided. Everyone is welcome, and student volunteer hours can be verified. Please sign in at the beach access near Front Beach by Smugglers and Coconut Joe’s, not at IOP County Park a few blocks away. After volunteering, enjoy a discount at an island restaurant, and pick up a magnet that provides free parking in city lots off Pavilion Drive for future visits. For weather updates or possible cancellation, check the organizers’ Facebook page and stay off the beach if conditions are unsafe due to thunder or lightning.
