Art League of Hilton Head presents A Feathered Focus, a gallery exhibition showcasing wildlife photography by local artist Morgan Thompson. Her images highlight the Lowcountry's birdlife, capturing fleeting moments of feeding, courtship, nesting, and territorial behavior while revealing the individuality of each subject. Expect sunrise and sunset silhouettes alongside close views of young alligators and nesting egrets for an intimate look at the region’s natural world. The exhibition takes place at Art League Gallery and includes an opening reception as well as an artist demonstration that starts with a gallery walk and continues with a field session at Fish Haul Beach Park. There is no charge to attend the exhibit or the demonstration. Thompson is a self-taught Hilton Head Island photographer, an Exhibiting Member of Art League of Hilton Head, and an active volunteer in the local environmental community. Her work has earned regional recognition, including multiple first-place awards from the Camera Club of Hilton Head, and her photograph Winged Embrace: Great Egrets Pair was selected as a finalist in the National Biennale.

Settle in aboard a two-deck catamaran with restrooms, a full bar, and a kitchen, departing from the Salty Dog dock at South Beach Marina in Sea Pines and cruising to Bloody Point on the southern tip of Daufuskie Island. Revolutionary War historians from Beaufort County provide live narration, highlighting significant locations along the shores of Hilton Head and Daufuskie and recounting how Patriot scout boats seized 16,000 pounds of gunpowder. Departure is tide dependent, so the boat leaves on schedule.

Explore glass as your canvas in a half-day workshop with instructor Kathy Oda at Art League Academy. Participants design and assemble an 8-by-8 inch plate, and no painting experience is required. After class, pieces are taken to the instructor’s studio for kiln firing, then returned to the Academy for pickup once finished. A portion of proceeds supports Sea Turtle Patrol in conjunction with a special sea turtle collaborative art exhibit at Art League Academy. Tuition is $50, or $45 for ALHH members, with an additional $20 materials fee paid in cash to the instructor, who supplies everything needed. Students of all skill levels are welcome. Returning students may complete up to two plates during class for an additional materials fee, with advance arrangements required through the Academy Manager. All ticket purchases are final, and credits or refunds are not issued for missed classes. If the Academy cancels a class or workshop, a full refund is provided.

Bring and use your own reference photos, and receive guidance tailored to any experience level, including beginners. Addison will work with heavy acrylics. Artists using other media are welcome, though some methods may not translate due to differences in transparency and drying time. Art League of Hilton Head presents Finding Light, a new exhibition by local artist L. Robert Stanfield, at Art League Gallery inside the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island. Through vivid abstract mixed media paintings alongside sculptural pieces, the show considers resilience, renewal, and the strength of the human spirit. It embraces the idea that hope grows when it is shared, and that in illuminating another person’s way, we may discover our own. Stanfield’s work features layered surfaces, metallic accents, and a luminous quality that interacts with light. Color, movement, and texture invite quiet reflection and foster emotional connection. A Hilton Head Island resident since 1999, Stanfield studied at Savannah College of Art and Design and has exhibited widely throughout the Lowcountry. His career includes a strong commitment to arts education and to helping others use creativity as a path to growth and healing. His pieces are held in private collections and appear in public settings, including MD Anderson Cancer Center and MiraSol Health. Admission is free and open to the public.
