S'WET Aqua Fitness

S'WET Aqua Fitness delivers a vigorous, total-body workout in the water at the Wyomissing Pool. The class blends core principles of aquatic training with resistance work to create a challenging yet safe session that emphasizes proper technique. It is welcoming to a broad range of ages and fitness levels, with intensity scaled to each participant. Expect intervals, cardio, strength moves, and plyometric drills adapted for the pool, offering low impact with high-intensity results. Sessions are led by Sherri Freifelder, a licensed Zumba Specialty Instructor and AEA Certified Aquatic Fitness Professional with extensive wellness experience. This outdoor class is weather dependent. Each session costs $11, payable in cash at the front desk. Wear a bathing suit, water shoes are highly recommended, and bring a water bottle. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to get ready.

This event features hands-on creative projects, time in the garden, and a variety of games. Lunch is provided, and the focus is on creating a fun experience for everyone.

Sensory Friendly Library Time

Families with young children can explore the library in a quieter setting before it opens during Sensory Friendly Library Time. Step-By-Step Special Instructor Miss Liz collaborates with the Children’s Librarian, Miss Daniella, and helpful staff to guide hands-on, sensory-based play. Children can engage with soft plush toys and other interactive activities that encourage learning and growth in a calm, inviting space. Geared toward toddlers and preschoolers, this program is free and open to families.

Fossil Exploration

Explore fossils up close in an interactive program led by a museum educator, then create your own trace fossil craft. Capacity is limited, and materials are available only while supplies last. Sessions are offered at multiple locations, including the Southeast Branch, the Main Library, the Northwest Branch, and the Northeast Branch.

This library story session for toddlers features storytelling, simple craft projects, and dancing.

Preschool Storytime

Little ones can settle in for a playful mix of stories, songs, rhymes, and movement that supports early social interaction, language growth, and literacy skills. Art for Adults: Weaving

Cruise nights at Community UCC bring neighbors together for cars, conversation, and a home-cooked meal. Attendees may arrive with their own vehicles or simply enjoy the lineup on display. Move Together Dance Class for Kids

This inclusive movement class welcomes children ages 5 to 10 to explore the fundamentals of dance while trying a variety of styles in a friendly, supportive setting. Two former dancers who are now speech-language pathologists lead each session with an emphasis on building confidence, encouraging self-expression, and making dance accessible to every child. Caregivers are encouraged to stay, observe, and assist if a child needs extra help following directions. Registration is required, and the cost is $40 for the series. Comfortable athletic wear or dance attire is recommended.

yoga for YOU

A gentle, mindfulness-centered yoga class at Kula Kamala Foundation invites participants to explore yoga at their own pace with no pressure or expectations. Forgotten Friend Sanctuary brings live reptile and amphibian experiences to Grings Mill Recreation Area as the Super Green Turtle Machine, the sanctuary's van, arrives. Summer Concert Series

Perfect Strangers brings live music to Jim Dietrich Park as part of Muhlenberg Township’s summer concert series. The stage is set on the lawn in front of the historic farmhouse by the river, creating a relaxed setting for an evening of music and community. Guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable seating under the open sky. The performance includes a brief intermission. A drink truck serves adult beverages, including local beers and mixed drinks, and outside alcohol is not permitted. Rotating food vendors are on site, and local Boy and Girl Scouts offer desserts to support their programs. If the weather does not cooperate, concerts may be postponed or canceled.

Part of a four-film series celebrating BCTV’s 50th anniversary, this screening spotlights the role of community and public media, public access, and local journalism from fresh angles. Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project, directed by Matt Wolf, follows activist and archivist Marion Stokes, who captured television news for more than three decades and built a collection of roughly 70,000 tapes. The documentary explores how her unwavering mission to preserve a continuous broadcast record informs our understanding of truth, where dedication can verge on obsession. The series is presented at the Boscov Theater inside the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, and tickets are $10.

Settle into a 75-minute class led by Swaminiji that blends gentle movement with deep relaxation through sound healing using gongs and brass bowls. At New Beginnings Massage & Wellness Center, this small group mat Pilates session led by CMB Pilates offers a steady, encouraging flow that builds strength and deepens body awareness. Yin Yoga

Settle into a calm, unhurried practice with a Yin Yoga class at Kula Kamala Foundation & Yoga Ashram. This all-levels session welcomes complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Poses are held for several minutes, about three to five, to gently target connective tissues such as tendons, fascia, and ligaments. The approach supports circulation in the joints and encourages flexibility, while inviting a quiet, meditative awareness and a sense of interconnectedness. The class takes place in the Auditorium and is offered by donation, with a suggested contribution of $10 per student per class. Advance registration is preferred, and each attendee needs an individual registration. Please park on the semi circle in front of the Ashram, with additional parking behind the building and in the side lot by the gardens, and enter through the front doors only. Upon arrival, remove your shoes and leave them in the hallway. When not on the mat, keep shoulders covered, and speak softly and respectfully. Theorem Painting Workshop

Berks History Center presents a beginner friendly, hands-on theorem painting workshop rooted in Early American tradition. Returning after two sold-out offerings earlier in the year, this class centers on creating an 8 by 10 inch portrait of a Distelfink bird, a Pennsylvania German emblem of good luck and happiness. Guest instructor Peggy Allen, an experienced Early American interpreter and theorem artist, will guide participants step by step as they use oil paints on cotton velveteen with pre-cut stencils. The session includes a brief practice period, an introduction to the history of theorem art, and an inspiring display of works by multiple artists.
