Sensual Bachata and Latin Dance Sampler (ChaChaCha, Hustle) April-May

Sample a variety of Latin and West Coast Swing styles in a special three week sampler, with classes designed for both beginners and experienced dancers. Latin sessions include Sensual Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Latin Hustle, and solo styling, while West Coast Swing offerings cover an introductory track, technique work with rides, spins, turns, and styling, plus higher level options. Every block includes a Beginner or All Levels choice so newcomers can jump in while seasoned dancers explore deeper material. Sensual Bachata is a gentle introduction and is best for those who know the basics and basic turns, with dancing at about level 1.5 or higher recommended. West Coast Swing tracks range from an Intro class built around the Body Language Curriculum to Adv Beginner level 1.5, and a Level 2 class led by guest instructors such as Geoff and Anni from DC or Carla and Rye, which expects familiarity with patterns including whips, pushes, passes, tucks, slingshot, and the cut off whip. Two rooms keep the dancing flowing, one dedicated to Latin and one to West Coast Swing. Social dance parties welcome everyone, with a dance only option available for $5. No partner is needed and all are welcome. Early registration is encouraged to help balance leads and follows and to access early bird pricing. The space operates as a dance hall with light snacks and refreshments provided, the bar is closed and alcohol is not permitted.

Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing WEDNESDAYS - Harrisburg

Wednesday evenings focus on Salsa, Bachata, and West Coast Swing in a progressive four week series designed for advanced beginners and beyond. Dancers can choose one or two classes each week, with Level 1.5 options in Bachata, Salsa, and West Coast Swing for those who already have experience, plus a Level 2 West Coast Swing class that requires extensive experience or instructor permission. Some West Coast Swing sessions will announce their topic closer to class, and one advanced beginner West Coast Swing slot has limited capacity with space for 10 leads and 10 follows. The night wraps up with a social dance party open to everyone for a $5 dance-only cover, featuring two rooms... a Latin dance floor and a West Coast Swing floor. Early registration is encouraged to help balance leads and follows and because classes can fill quickly, and an early-bird discount is available before it expires. Salsa & Bachata, & West Coast Swing Nights, Wednesdays in Harrisburg - Spring edition

A weekly Wednesday series brings Bachata, Salsa, and West Coast Swing to The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company, where the venue operates solely as a dance hall and alcohol is not permitted. The night features advanced beginner Bachata and West Coast Swing options plus an intermediate West Coast Swing track, with topics that rotate by week. Dancers can choose one or two classes each week, space permitting, and some levels may have experience requirements. Partners are not required, and both newer and experienced dancers are welcome. A social dance is included with class registration. Following the classes, two social dance rooms open for the night, one devoted to Latin music and another to West Coast Swing with a hint of lindy. DJs change from week to week, and guest DJ Rumspringa appears on select weeks. Early-bird pricing for a four-week session is $50 for one class per week or $80 for two classes per week. Drop-ins, if space allows, are $20 for one class or $25 for two classes. Dance-only entry is $5. Registering early reduces the cost by $10, secures a spot, and helps maintain a balanced lead and follow ratio. Latin instruction is led by Luis Santiago, while West Coast Swing instructors vary by week. For arrival, use the left-side entrance and the ramp on the left side of the building. Kendall Street Company at The Abbey Bar | Harrisburg PA

Kendall Street Company brings its genre-blending rock to The Abbey Bar with support from Screamin' Egrets. The Virginia-based quintet is known for adventurous jams, sharp songcraft, psychedelic exploration, jazz-tinged rock, and a streak of irreverent humor. Their concerts often weave in audience interaction, spontaneous comedy, playful choreography, and freewheeling improvisation, with the possibility of surprise guests making each show different from the last. Listeners have compared their onstage energy to acts like Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic, their storytelling instincts to John Prine, their exploratory side to Pink Floyd, and the offbeat spirit to Ween and They Might Be Giants, along with a nod to Frank Zappa’s progressive, jazz-infused approach. Over six years, the band has released more than 100 original songs across seven studio albums, two live albums, and four EPs. The lineup features Louis Smith on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Brian Roy on bass, Ryan Wood on drums, Ben Laderberg on lead guitar, and Jake Vanaman on saxophone and keys. Formed at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, they have appeared at festivals including LOCKN’, Summer Camp, High Sierra, Resonance, Floydfest, Hulaween, Peach Fest, Northlands, and Rooster Walk. They have collaborated onstage or in the studio with Keller Williams, Ron Holloway, Andy Thorn, Sawborg Destructo of GWAR, and Andy Hall, and have shared bills with Goose, Umphrey’s McGee, Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Leftover Salmon, the Infamous Stringdusters, Big Something, and Melvin Seals & JGB. Presale tickets are $15 and day-of-show tickets are $20. All ages are welcome, and guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 25.
