Trine: Dance Church - Ecstatic Dance

Trine: Dance Church is a monthly ecstatic dance gathering in Erie that invites people into a shared space for movement, meditation, and community. There is no set choreography or performance, and the dance floor is held as a quiet place. The focus is on music, breath, and bodies moving freely, with room to arrive exactly as you are. To keep the space welcoming and safe, participants move in the ways that feel right for their bodies, keep conversation off the floor, put away phones and cameras, practice clear consent, and honor a substance-free environment. People of all ages, identities, bodies, and abilities are welcome. No dance experience is required, only a willingness to feel and move. Ecstatic dance offers a rare sober setting to release tension, connect with others, and feel alive together. It blends the energy of a dance floor with the presence of meditation and the spirit of communal ritual, offering a return for those who feel isolated or disconnected from their bodies. Accessibility and inclusion are centered. The space welcomes BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodivergent community members, encourages body neutrality and freedom from appearance-based judgments, and is guided by a clear consent culture with trauma-informed facilitation. Sliding scale pricing is $10 to $20. If you have accessibility needs, please reach out in advance at info@1020collective.com. Expect opportunities to sweat, to pray in your own way, to rest, and to dance.

Author Visit with Lisa Slage Robinson

Author Lisa Slage Robinson visits Werner Books & Coffee for a signing of her debut collection, Esquire Ball, and will take part in the Horror Book Club discussion to answer questions and talk with readers. Esquire Ball gathers thirteen interconnected stories centered on a fictional law firm and a young woman attorney negotiating ambition and power in a space long dominated by white men. Set in Northwest Ohio, once known as the Great Black Swamp, the collection reveals the quiet brutality of drained ground and the ways lives are reshaped by ambition, loss, and transformation. Within this uncanny terrain, husbands wed frog brides, spirits linger in farmhouse windows, a woman shares cosmic insights through an unlikely threesome, an attorney shadows her client for a keepsake, and a law student sees what lies ahead inside a museum of medieval torture. Mixing fairy tale and myth with a Midwestern Gothic sensibility, the book carries echoes of Borges, Kafka, and du Maurier and builds a dreamlike, slightly grotesque mosaic. Robinson writes toward hidden terrains and a strain of magical feminism. Her work has been recognized as a finalist for Midwest Review’s Great Midwest Fiction Contest and appears in Iron Horse Literary Review, Atticus Review, Smokelong Quarterly, The Adroit Journal, PRISM International, Storm Cellar, Lit Pub, Necessary Fiction, Drizzle, Meat for Tea, and elsewhere. She serves on the board of Autumn House Press and previously practiced as a litigator and corporate attorney in the United States and Canada.

Grounded is a collaborative creative space where many artists and small businesses work side by side. Its printshop provides shared tools and studios with access to hands-on processes such as papermaking, risograph printing, screenprinting, relief carving, and other print and fiber arts, and it hosts workshops, open studios, and events that support learning, experimentation, and connection through making. The vendor fee is $35 per market, with details and the application available on Grounded’s website.
