D&D Weekly Campaign: Game of Gum Drops

This Dungeons and Dragons campaign is run by Joe. Players should bring a third level character, and the format lets participants step in or step away between sessions. Capacity is limited to seven players. The story unfolds in a grim, politically tangled realm made of confections. Parties take on reckless errands for competing royal houses, outmaneuver scheming villains and rulers, and either elevate their house’s standing or make a play for a candied throne. Expect to gather assets, shape them into intricate strategies, and attempt daring infiltrations of supposedly impenetrable strongholds in a bid to bend a fractured kingdom to your plans. Speak sweetly when needed, but be ready for knives in the shadows, in true Sucrosian fashion. The aim is to explore unusual locales and encounter strange characters while collaboratively grounding the world’s gonzo side so it feels coherent. Beyond loot and renown, play gradually uncovers the heroes’ origins and the dark, chocolate-centered core of the setting, steering events toward an attempt to unseat the Sucrosian Overlord. Downsizing your home? What to know before you sell

At Freer Field, this practical session supports homeowners who are thinking about selling and downsizing but are unsure where to begin. It focuses on common questions such as what a home could sell for in the area, which repairs actually matter, how to sort and simplify belongings, where to go next, and whether current market conditions support a sale. Expect a clear overview of the local market, guidance on what buyers tend to expect and what can be skipped, the pitfalls that trip up many sellers, and strategies to downsize without feeling rushed. The conversation also covers options for flexibility with timing, repairs, and the move itself so you can plan with confidence. A financial clarity segment led by a local lender will outline possible scenarios for your next step and address questions. This session is designed for anyone weighing a move soon or simply exploring the idea, and you are welcome to bring a friend or family member who is helping with the decision. D&D Weekly Campaign: Game of Gum Drops

A Dungeons & Dragons campaign ventures into a dark, politically tangled realm crafted entirely from candy. Characters take on risky errands for competing royal houses, outmaneuvering rulers and rogues to raise their faction’s standing or make a play for a sugary throne. Participants gather resources and weave them into creative schemes, infiltrate seemingly unbreakable strongholds, and try to bend a fractured kingdom to their plans. Silver tongues matter, and quiet blades often decide outcomes. This campaign follows a drop in, drop out format and is limited to seven players. Bring a third level character. Together, the table dives into eccentric locales and odd personalities while grounding the strangeness so it fits the world. As events escalate, the heroes’ origins and the bittersweet core of the setting come into view, building toward an attempt to dethrone the Sucrosian Overlord. Expect secrecy, paranoia, the possibility of betrayal, and delayed consequences for breaches of etiquette. Additional details are available on a flyer. Makeup and airbrush instruction addresses fast, effective applications, character design, corpsing, and aging with practical methods suited to busy operations. Fabrication classes explore low-cost scenic approaches, creature creation, and ways to enhance a show using accessible materials. Additional topics include lighting, sound, and basic technical production to shape atmosphere, as well as operations and management that emphasize safety, communication, staffing, leadership, and seasonal planning. Marketing and branding sessions aim to grow audiences and strengthen online presence, and specialty concepts look at mobile or unconventional formats with creative problem solving. More seminars will be announced as the event approaches. Two haunted attractions will also be running during the weekend. Blood Prison at the Ohio State Reformatory will be open during the convention, and Mohican Haunted House will operate on Friday night, giving visitors to Mansfield the chance to experience live haunted entertainment. This year’s theme, The Call in the Dark, invites deeper immersion into the craft of haunting and a shared exploration of one of Ohio’s most storied and atmospheric locations. All admission, seminar, and Costume Ball tickets will be managed through the venue, with details to come. Volunteer opportunities will open soon for scouts, students, and fans of haunting. At Alpaca Meadows, Angora goats Mike, Ike, and Lola will be shorn by Sarah Karr, and visitors can observe the process from start to finish. Shearing Angora goats requires extra care because of their wrinkled skin and the weight of their fleeces. These goats produce mohair, a durable, lustrous fiber often nicknamed the diamond fiber.
