Volunteers will bring the appropriate diapers out to your vehicle for a quick and convenient pickup. If a parent cannot come in person, a friend or relative may pick up on their behalf. Sugary Shrubs Cookie Decorating Class

Learn the art of decorated sugar cookies with TailorMade Creations in a relaxed, beginner-friendly class at Donatos. A live instructor guides you through dough and icing basics, piping practice with royal icing, and strategies for planning and executing designs. You will decorate six plant-themed cookies using four icing colors, with sprinkles and all necessary tools provided, and you will head home with your creations in a box to finish drying. Techniques may include outlining, wet on wet, marbling, brush embroidery, and simple painting, and a supply list is shared so you can recreate the designs later. The class is suited for newcomers and anyone curious about cookie decorating. It is generally recommended for ages 12 and up, and participants under 16 must take the class with a parent or guardian. Seating is limited to about 20 people, and attendees can take advantage of a special Donatos discount. No baking or mixing is required, and there is ample parking on site. Optional items like an apron, glasses for viewing the reference slides, and a phone for photos can make the experience even better. Old Sparky: Capital Punishment in Ohio Tour

Explore the human stories behind capital punishment in Ohio through a guided experience centered on Old Sparky. It begins with a one hour seated presentation that traces how the death penalty has evolved in the state, explains the design and construction of the electric chair, and looks at the lives and crimes of the 315 individuals executed by Old Sparky. The program continues with a walk through the Reformatory and includes a stop at Old Sparky, now located inside the Ohio Corrections Museum. Because of the sensitive nature of the material, attendance is limited to ages 13 and older.

A weekly cruise-in rolls into Pizza Hut Wingstreet, welcoming show cars, rat rods, trucks, and motorcycles with no registration fee. Classic tunes from the 1950s through the 1990s set the backdrop for a family-friendly gathering that is open to everyone.

Kumihimo Friendship Bracelet Class

Learn the art of kumihimo, a Japanese braiding method that uses a disk to create patterns ranging from simple to intricate. This hands-on class is designed for ages 8 and up and lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. Participants can complete one bracelet or make several during the session, and a disk is included to take home so you can continue braiding later. These bracelets offer a fresh take on the classic friendship style and are great to craft, wear, or share. Class sizes are kept small for individual guidance, all materials are provided, and parents may either drop off and return at the end or stay and participate. Cost is $15 plus tax.

Participants gather resources and weave them into creative schemes, infiltrate seemingly unbreakable strongholds, and try to bend a fractured kingdom to their plans. Step into a friendly community to connect, learn, shop, create, and celebrate inside a historic, atmospheric venue. Across the weekend attendees can explore a bustling Vendor Hall, enjoy a Costume Ball, capture photo moments, watch demonstrations, take in live presentations and entertainment, enter contests, and meet peers at networking and community gatherings. Expect a few surprises along the way. The Vendor Hall is accepting applications from sellers offering props, costumes, artwork, oddities, merchandise, and handmade spooky pieces. Exhibitors can expect indoor spaces with strong foot traffic, straightforward load-in and load-out, and budget-conscious table options. It is a strong fit for makers, artists, prop builders, and haunt-focused vendors. Education is a major focus, with a full slate of hands-on and classroom sessions for all experience levels. Training covers performance for haunts such as movement, vocal control, scare techniques, endurance, and building memorable characters. Makeup and airbrush instruction addresses fast, effective applications, character design, corpsing, and aging with practical methods suited to busy operations. Fabrication classes explore low-cost scenic approaches, creature creation, and ways to enhance a show using accessible materials. Additional topics include lighting, sound, and basic technical production to shape atmosphere, as well as operations and management that emphasize safety, communication, staffing, leadership, and seasonal planning. Marketing and branding sessions aim to grow audiences and strengthen online presence, and specialty concepts look at mobile or unconventional formats with creative problem solving. More seminars will be announced as the event approaches. Two haunted attractions will also be running during the weekend. Blood Prison at the Ohio State Reformatory will be open during the convention, and Mohican Haunted House will operate on Friday night, giving visitors to Mansfield the chance to experience live haunted entertainment. This year’s theme, The Call in the Dark, invites deeper immersion into the craft of haunting and a shared exploration of one of Ohio’s most storied and atmospheric locations. All admission, seminar, and Costume Ball tickets will be managed through the venue, with details to come. Volunteer opportunities will open soon for scouts, students, and fans of haunting. Open Play with Bluey

Little Sprouts Playhouse hosts an open play session featuring a special visit from Bluey. Children can explore the play areas and pose for photos while caregivers capture memories. We Are Their Voice Rally

This community rally is centered on love, remembrance, and unity. It offers a compassionate space for grieving families and anyone living with loss to honor lives, share stories, and support one another. Plans include flowers offered to families, bubbles and sidewalk chalk for children, speakers with shared reflections, an awareness walk through the downtown area, and a memorial balloon release. It is held to recognize those who remain loved and missed, and to affirm that their stories still matter. There are many meaningful ways to participate, such as standing with families, offering comfort or prayer, bringing flowers or other memorial items, providing bubbles or chalk for children, sharing food, snacks, or drinks, or volunteering as a speaker or helper. Youth Orchestra & Strings: Spring Concert

Young musicians from throughout North Central Ohio come together for the season finale of the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings. Guided by directors Stephen Domka and Alora Eyerly, more than 100 performers share the stage at the Renaissance Theatre in a concert that highlights dedication, growth, and ensemble artistry. The Youth Strings, made up of students in grades 6 through 10, reflect a year of collaboration through their ensemble work and build on a program that has offered foundational music education since 1992. The Youth Orchestra features high school students from a 12-county area and presents a program that includes performances by the winners of this year’s concerto competition. As the sole youth orchestra within a 65 mile radius, the ensemble provides meaningful performance opportunities, including for students whose schools do not have a full orchestra program.

Stuffy Sleepover

Families can bring a child’s favorite stuffed animal to Little Sprouts Playhouse during open play for a Stuffy Sleepover. Children enjoy their usual playtime, then leave the stuffed friend with the team overnight while staff capture photos of its adventures around the playhouse. The next day, families return during open hours to reunite with the stuffed animal and view the photos. Each participant heads home with sleepover photos and a couple of extras, including a pass to bring a friend and a snack pass. This activity is complimentary for Little Sprouts Playhouse members, and nonmembers pay a $5 add on plus a $10 open play admission. Limit one stuffed animal per child.

Despite the name, Angora goats do not make angora fiber, which comes from rabbits. World of Outlaws dirt late models roll into Mansfield Speedway to launch a packed weekend of top-tier dirt racing. Opening night spotlights elite teams and drivers from across the country, delivering intense, wheel-to-wheel action that sets the pace on the venue’s storied oval. World-class teams and relentless competition shape a single high-impact program. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. A maximum of four child tickets may be claimed per one purchased ticket, and only the exact number needed for entry should be selected. Child tickets are valid only when accompanied by a paid adult admission. Discounted weekend bundle passes are available for both nights.

Learn how to craft a unique felted purse at Alpaca Meadows using the wet felting technique with warm, sudsy water and natural fibers. You will start by creating a template, layer wool roving or batts over it, add soapy water, then use ample rubbing, gentle patting, and steady rolling. The warmth opens the fiber scales and the friction bonds them together to form a strong, attractive fabric. No needles or knitting are used, and beginners are welcome. This class is designed for ages 16 and older, and youth ages 12 to 15 may attend with an adult companion who is also enrolled. The fee covers all project materials and the use of wet felting tools. Please bring a towel, a Sharpie, and a pair of scissors, and consider an apron or clothing you do not mind getting wet.

80’s Alumni Party !!!

An open-to-the-public 80s-era alumni gathering at Warehouse Tavern brings together Tygers, Falcons, and Mansfield-area classmates from any local high school, including Madison, Ontario, St. Peter’s, and Lexington. Presented by the Mansfield Senior Tyger and Falcon Alumni Association in partnership with the Mansfield Senior High Class of 1986, it welcomes anyone who attended high school in the area during that decade. 6th Annual Ashland Ale Fest

Now in its sixth year, this festival showcases Ohio craft beers in the downtown area, accompanied by live music, food, and more.

Cruisin For A Cure Event

At Ashland County Fairgrounds, this event features a car show with a $10 registration fee. All makes, models, and years are welcome, and a Best of Show trophy will be awarded. Attendees can browse a craft and vendor show, take part in a silent auction and a Corn Hole tournament, and enjoy food trucks. All proceeds support the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

1st Annual Heart of Mohican Car Show

The inaugural Heart of Mohican Car Show takes place at Crown Jewel Automotive and showcases a packed lineup of activities. Awards will be presented for the top 75 along with 10 specialty categories, and 150 dash plaques will be available. Entertainment includes a DJ and live music, plus raffles, a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing, and food trucks. Participant registration costs $5, and spectators can attend at no charge. Proceeds will benefit the Loudonville-Perrysville School's Music Boosters.

Helicopter Rides at the Ashland Ohio BalloonFest

Get a sky-high view of the Ashland BalloonFest with short helicopter flights operated by Intrepid Helicopters at Freer Field in Ashland, Ohio. Rides last about five minutes and cost $60 per person, with payment accepted by cash or credit. Seating is first come, first served. The helicopter carries three passengers and needs at least two to depart. For safety, the maximum weight is 275 pounds per passenger, with a combined limit of 600 pounds for three passengers. If an individual is over 200 pounds or the group total is close to the limit, the operator may confirm weights on a scale that is not publicly displayed. Children older than 2 are preferred, and all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

ALTER EGO CANOPY COURSES!

Alter Ego canopy courses with Jeannie and Curt Bartholomew provide coaching for skydivers at any experience level with a focus on safe canopy piloting. Participants can strengthen fundamentals, refine flight patterns and landings, complete the USPA B-License canopy card, and practice control inputs and CEPs to handle a canopy in a range of conditions. Those pursuing speed and precision can begin with an introduction to swooping or train for advanced swooping and competition goals. Course options include Silver Essentials of Canopy Flight, Yellow Intermediate Canopy Flight, Orange Advanced Canopy Flight, Green Advanced Targeting, Blue Intro to Swooping, and Red Advanced Swooping. To register, contact Sherry to secure a spot and indicate the preferred course and day. Multiple days are available with a $50 deposit per course. Payment can be made via Venmo at sherry-butcher-1 or PayPal at Sherry@aerohio.com, and the cost is $220 per day.

Car Show and Swap Meet

A car show and swap meet will take place at Madison High School, bringing together enthusiasts and vendors for a day of vehicles and collectibles. Car show entry is $25 per vehicle, and swap meet spaces are $25 for each 10-by-10 area. Stakes are not allowed, so sandbags and ropes are encouraged, and participants should bring their own pop up tents, chairs, and tables. The swap meet welcomes RC cars, RC boats, RC planes, RC trucks, race cars, trucks, cars, motorcycles, golf carts, RVs, and more. Expect a live DJ, food and drink trucks, 50/50 drawings throughout the day, car show prizes, and raffles. America's 250th Parade in Ashland Ohio

This large downtown parade in Ashland honors the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence. Set along 250, it spotlights achievements and stories from America, Ohio, and Ashland over the past two and a half centuries, with a few surprises to be unveiled along the way.

NAMI Family Support Group

NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for adults who have a loved one experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Participants can share and learn from the challenges and successes of others in similar situations. The group follows a structured model so everyone has the opportunity to be heard and to get what they need. Participation is free, it is designed for adult loved ones, it is led by family members, it is confidential, and no specific medical therapy or treatment is endorsed. HSLD OPEN Year 2

Now in its second year, the HSLD Sports Open takes place at Ashland Golf Club and blends a full day on the course with a larger purpose. Athletes, leaders, and community members come together for a golf experience shaped by a shared goal of building something bigger. Throughout the event, participants can hear insider updates on the HSLD HQ build, the Performance Center’s progress, and upcoming plans for HSLD Sports. Options are available for both individual players and foursomes.

Ashland Downtown Dream Cruise and Car Show

Now in its 16th year, the Downtown Dream Cruise and Car Show brings the community together around a shared love of cars while supporting a meaningful cause. All proceeds benefit Shop With a Cop, helping children in Ashland enjoy Christmas.

Frights & Lights

Frights & Lights returns to OSR for a summer scare. The evening begins with a screening of a classic Stephen King film inside a mildly haunted setting, followed by a guided flashlight tour through corridors and cellblocks in complete darkness. The featured movie is Pet Sematary (1989). Each ticket includes admission to the film, the guided tour, and one popcorn and one drink per person. Pricing is $65 for adults, $45 for youth ages 13 to 17, $150 for a family three-pack with two adults and one youth, and $190 for a family four-pack with two adults and two youth. All attendees must be at least 13 years old, and anyone ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A waiver is required for all participants.
