Discover HeroClix at a casual open play gathering at the Deck Factory. This class welcomes athletes ages 8 through 18. Participants 8 to 12 complete a 60 minute session, and those 14 to 18 continue for an additional 30 minutes. Activities are divided by group and customized to each athlete’s specific needs.

Be Seen with Green Kickoff

A kickoff event launches a monthlong awareness effort to light the community in green. Attendees can pick up free green lightbulbs and window clings to display. A raffle offers a Be Seen with Green gift basket valued at $200. The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board presents the annual Be Seen with Green campaign, encouraging participation on any day during the month by showing green. Participants may also share photos to be featured on social media.

Buckeye Blade Scrape

Now in its fourth year, this gathering welcomes pilots for a full slate of flying and camaraderie. The $40 pilot fee includes lunch on Saturday, and food options are available every day. Look for plenty of giveaways and raffles, plus night flying to keep the fun going after dark. Helicopters powered by electric, nitro, gas, or turbine are all welcome.

Community Drum Circle

At Ottawa Metro Park, a welcoming drum circle invites all ages to make music together in a relaxed community setting. A communal table will be set up for optional contributions of snacks, drinks, and other nonalcoholic refreshments. Look for signs to the amphitheater and head to the Peace Grove beneath the pine trees.

When life feels heavy and hard to process, this restorative gathering offers a soft place to land. Over 90 minutes, it gently shifts participants from constant doing into deep rest and renewed connection. The experience begins with a guided meditation to ground in the body and let outside noise recede. It then flows into an intuitive soundscape featuring chimes, crystal singing bowls, shakers, and assorted drums. Tones are created in the moment, responsive and organic, with the intention of calming the nervous system and rekindling a sense of inner safety. Reiki is interwoven throughout to support emotional release, energetic clearing, and profound replenishment. This community centered offering uses a sliding scale of $15, $25, or $35. This semi formal tea party themed fundraiser takes place at The Howard Johnson Hotel. Attendees can browse more than 30 vendor tables before the program begins. South Jackson Community Garden Education Series

This free gardening education series, presented by Activate Allen County with support from the Central State Extension Office, features a new topic each month to build confidence in growing food at home and preserving extra harvests for the colder months. Pokemon - League Cup Event

Trainers can compete in a Pokémon League Cup using the Standard format with a $5 entry fee. Every participant receives Play Packs, and top players in each age division receive additional Play Packs. Champions in Juniors, Seniors, and Masters are awarded Champion Playmats. Nathan Hilvers will judge the event and oversee tournament play. Championship Points are available as players compete within their divisions.

Pokemon: Chaos Rising Prerelease

The Deck Factory hosts a prerelease for Pokémon: Chaos Rising, giving players an early look at the new set. Entry is $30 and each participant receives a Build & Battle Kit with a ready-to-play 40-card deck and four Chaos Rising booster packs to upgrade their build. Players have 30 minutes for deckbuilding, followed by three to four Swiss-style rounds. To finish, additional Chaos Rising booster packs are given to all participants, so everyone leaves with more of the newest cards. Designed for both experienced trainers and those just starting out, this event offers a friendly, low-pressure way to discover the set. Space is limited.

All of Creation Celebration

A free, all-ages celebration marks seven years of All of Creation Arts at the Wheeler Shelter House in McLean Teddy Bear Park. This is a steel challenge match, a speed and accuracy test that sharpens your fundamentals against the clock. Participants will shoot at steel targets, and their times will be recorded. It is a competitive, but not cutthroat, format that forces a balance of speed and precision. You shoot a course of fire, hit steel targets in sequence, and the timer stops when you ring the last one. Clean hits matter misses and penalties add time. Its a solid way to test your actual shooting skill under a little pressure and see how you stack up against other shooters in your area.

This Magic: The Gathering Regional Championship Qualifier features Modern format competition with free entry. The program offers perspective on Ohio’s contribution to American leadership, highlighting William Henry Harrison, Grant, Hayes, Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, McKinley, Taft, and Harding. Museum Talks are free for all visitors, and each talk is filmed and later posted on the museum’s YouTube page.

Pokemon - May's League Challenge Event

June Jam Fest

June Jam Fest fills the Spring Street Entertainment District, stretching from Main to Central Avenue, with live music, classic cars, food and drinks, and community fun. Admission is free to the public. Three stages host performances across both days. Highlights include Joson Greshop, The Chris Canus Band, an R&B trio from Michigan, and The Sherl Youngblood Band led by a Grammy winning recording artist from Chicago on the Spring and Main Archway stage. The Central District Stage features Nightfall Band with 80s rock covers and Wastin’ Neon bringing country tunes that blend originals and covers. The Midway stage spotlights local talent, with additional acts to be announced. Additional sets include Rick Robinson with acoustic classic rock, Fire Lake Detroit performing a tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, and Shadow of Doubt honoring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Night car shows add to the festivities, featuring Buckeye Cruisers on one evening and Happy Daz Cool Car Cruisers on another.

6th Annual Public Car Show

The 6th annual public car show at The Lima Auto Mall welcomes cars, trucks, and motorcycles of every make and model. The gathering honors member Judy Reichenbach and is presented by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America Western Buckeye Region together with Lima Auto Mall. Awards will recognize the top twenty five vehicles along with additional special honors, and the first 200 registrants receive dash plaques. Registration is $10 on the day of the show. Expect a DJ, food trucks, kids activities, and a 50/50 drawing.

Pride Potluck with The Ex-Bombers and More!!

Gears & Cheers 2026

Gears & Cheers is a kid-focused cycling event that encourages children of every ability to ride with purpose. From little ones in strollers to new riders and experienced neighborhood cyclists, participants follow a safe, age-appropriate course and aim to complete as many laps as possible. Families gather per-lap pledges or flat donations, and 100 percent of funds raised support Pelotonia Kids and pediatric cancer research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Children register, ride laps on a designated track, and see their effort translate into funding for research. Hosted by Gears & Beers, a local peloton that rides in Pelotonia to raise money for cancer research, this event returns for a second year.

The Lima Astronomical Society hosts its monthly members meeting, followed by a program and public stargazing when weather allows. The meeting usually lasts about an hour or less before transitioning to the program. Visitors are asked to sign the guest log upon arrival. Both the meeting and program are open to the public, welcoming anyone curious about astronomy or interested in the Society. If skies are clear, public observing at Schoonover Observatory includes views through the dome telescope and time on the upper deck to learn constellations, look for planets, and watch for satellites. No experience is required, and observers of all levels are welcome. Attendees may bring their own telescope for assistance, and the gathering offers an opportunity to learn more about the organization.

Now in its ninth year, the Dakota Mathias Basketball Camp centers on fun and fundamentals while helping players build all-around skills. The coaching team features Dakota Mathias alongside current professional athletes and current and former college players, bringing experience that spans the NBA, high-level international competition, and Division I programs.
