Fantastic Cat with Michaela Anne

Fantastic Cat takes the stage with a set that draws on a fast-rising story, from a debut album that sparked national television exposure, sold-out headlining runs across the United States and Europe, a Sundance appearance, and a song placement in the series Tulsa King, to a follow-up that featured Adam Duritz and led to dates with Dawes and Lucius. Praised by major outlets, including Rolling Stone calling them a supergroup to watch and WFUV celebrating their place among recent New York Americana and rock standouts, the quartet pairs sharp songwriting with a spirited, anything-can-happen energy. Their third release, Cat Out Of Hell, was produced by the band and mixed by D. James Goodwin, whose credits include Goose, Kevin Morby, and The Hold Steady. The new material heightens their mix of craft and unpredictability, channeling the charge of their live show into tunes that feel like a loose house party filled with seekers, romantics, and big thinkers. Each member brings a notable track record, with appearances ranging from the New York Times and Tiny Desk to Bonnaroo and Cayamo. Accolades span NPR’s nod to Anthony D’Amato’s Springsteen and Josh Ritter lineage, Pitchfork’s praise for the urgency and poetry in Brian Dunne’s work, Paste’s high marks for Don DiLego, and Rolling Stone’s salute to Mike Montali’s band Hollis Brown as perfect for late-night drives. Together they write and sing with rich harmonies and playful charm, echoing the spirit of CSNY and the Traveling Wilburys, along with the combustible chemistry associated with the Eagles. Michaela Anne opens with songs shaped by a childhood of frequent moves as part of a military family, blending singer-songwriter, Americana, and folk elements with clear-eyed storytelling and a powerful voice. Her work leans into a more reflective kind of freedom that comes from acceptance, gratitude, and self-respect. The venue will not operate during regular business hours for this show. Ticket holders may check in and doors will open at the time listed for the event. A full bar will be available along with a focused menu featuring pizza, salads, charcuterie, and desserts before and during the performance.

Community Dog Walking

Volunteers help give shelter dogs a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy one-on-one attention at the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center. This public, outdoor volunteer opportunity welcomes newcomers and drop-ins, and no pre-registration is required. Shelter staff match participants with appropriate dogs and provide supplies such as waste bags, treats, and harness leads, so personal leashes and collars should be left at home. Upon arrival, head to the large fenced walking yard behind the building, enter through the gate, and check in at the registration table. Because activities take place outside, plans depend on the weather. Updates will be shared on the event page, and RSVP is available for reminders. Comfortable, sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. Photos of adoptable dogs are encouraged, and social posts can include the hashtag #FCDSAdoptables. The shelter typically cares for between 200 and 300 dogs, and each benefits from fresh air and time out of the kennel. This is a family-friendly experience, though the primary handler must be 18 or older. Personal pets should stay home unless there is a scheduled meet and greet with a dog being considered for adoption. Staff can answer questions about fostering or adoption, and donations of dog treats are especially appreciated.

2026 Annual Krieger Ford Car & Truck Extravaganza

Krieger Ford hosts a showcase for Blue Oval enthusiasts with judged classes for Mustangs along with other Ford cars and trucks. A total of 25 classes are available, and owners of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles are welcome to participate. An appearance by Ford Performance is planned, adding to the excitement on the show field. The Speed Zone Ford Merchandise Trailer returns with an extensive selection of Ford gear, the same kind of merchandise seen at major gatherings like the Barrett Jackson auctions, the Carlisle Show, Ponies in the Smokies, the Woodward Dream Cruise in and MCA shows. Multiple food trucks are expected, with options that include Schmidt’s and Tortilla Street Food Truck, and seating will be available under tents so guests can take a break from the sun while they eat. A robust Youth Program invites young enthusiasts to get involved. The Model Car and Truck Contest is open to participants 15 and under who bring a Mustang, Ford car or Ford truck model they have purchased and assembled. Models must be plastic, metal or LEGO, measure no more than 9 inches in length and come from kits that cost no more than $30. Entries are judged with awards presented, and age groups include 5 and under, 6 to 8, 9 to 11 and 12 to 15. The Halderman Designer Class engages youth ages 12 to 18 to create automotive design concepts using guidelines provided after registration. Pre registration is required for all youth classes and there is no day of show registration. A special Class 18 allows youth ages 12 to 15 to show a full sized Ford product for judging. A fee of $25 applies to this class. A parent must be involved with the participant, even when a mentor provides the vehicle. The youth and parent are required to attend the annual judging seminar held prior to the show. Judging focuses on cleanliness and condition of the exterior, glass, engine compartment, trunk and interior. The underside, the inside of wheels and tires and truck beds are not judged, and vehicles do not need to be jacked up or have wheels removed. A regular show judge will review results with the youth to explain any deductions and help improve future preparations. Additional Youth Program activities include a balloon artist, a face painter, voting for favorite pedal cars, Tow Mater themed giveaways, a Mustang story coloring book with crayons, a Mustang cookie and a Mustang experience for ages 10 to 18. Pre registration is available at a discounted fee, with an option that bundles show entry and a club membership at a further value. Registration on or after the close of the pre registration period, including day of show, is offered at a higher rate. Day of show registration has a firm cutoff. Vehicles that arrive after registration closes will be placed in display only and will not be judged, even if pre registered. An awards ceremony will present 100 class awards along with specialty honors, and recipients must be present to receive them. For safety, vehicles may not leave during the ceremony. Please note that tents, alcohol and firearms are not permitted. The Mustang Club of Ohio and Krieger Ford are not responsible for accidents or property damage.

Soulful Sounds in Columbus

Step into a candlelit setting where the spirit of the Harlem Renaissance meets a modern groove with the music and comedy of Acute Inflections, an NYC-based jazzy R&B duo seen on HBO and Amazon. Their sound blends classic soul with contemporary flair and will appeal to admirers of Erykah Badu or Billie Holiday. The night leans into a Roaring Twenties revival with a stripped-down feel, whether attendees opt for Gatsby-inspired looks or their own stylish flair. Look forward to lively duets, witty humor, and spontaneous freestyles, all delivered with a playful Lucy and Ricky style rapport. Complimentary snacks will be available during the performance. More than 50,000 people have attended their sold-out shows across the United States and abroad, and they have earned over a thousand five-star reviews. Set at The Gallery at Champions on the Northeast side of Columbus near the Alum Creek corridors, the venue’s elegant look and spacious ambiance complement an evening of soulful music, playful storytelling, and vintage glamour. Purchases help support the Renaissance Youth Center, a South Bronx charity that empowers inner-city youth through music education, after-school programs, and tutoring.

The Moment w/ Todd Clemmer at Woodlands Tavern

The Moment brings a blend of alt funk, pop, and rock. Founders Chris DeBoard, a singer and drummer, and guitarist Rob Maupin met while playing in a cover band in 2015, then spent the following years co-writing and building a growing songbook. They recorded with Eric Jones at Steezo Sound, who serves as a senior engineer at Woodland's Tavern, and brought in additional session players during the process. Through their musician community, they connected with rhythm guitarist Bryan Bair, who officially joined, and with Shawn Short, introduced by musician Todd Clemmer after playing together at Woodland's. Their story reflects long standing collaborations and roots in the Columbus scene. Tickets are $15 and all ages are welcome.
