FNB To Go Meals Prep & Distribution

At Trinity Church in Potsdam, the Northern New York FNB Collective prepares simple takeaway meals for distribution on campus and in nearby neighborhoods. Meals will also be available for pickup, takeout only. Volunteers who assist with meal prep receive a meal as well. All are welcome.

Lego Club

A monthly building club for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Meetings typically occur on the last Monday of the month, with an occasional shift to the third Monday when the fourth falls near a holiday. Each session features a new theme or challenge, and finished creations are showcased in the Children’s Room until the next meeting. Legos are provided, so please do not bring pieces from home. Space is limited, and registration is required by the preceding Friday, as spots tend to fill quickly.

LGBTQ Youth Meetup

A space for socializing and activities tailored to LGBTQ youth and allies. The April project invites participants to craft beaded keychains with guidance from Lacy Shatraw. This program is presented in collaboration with Potsdam Pride, The Q Center at ACR Health, and Planned Parenthood of the North Country NY.

SLCCHC Book Club - April 27, 2026

The SLCCHC Book Club launches with a first meeting centered on A Midwife’s Tale by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. In recognition of the U.S. Semiquincentennial, this 2026 series invites readers to explore 250 years of history through many perspectives, and new participants can start at any time. The featured book draws on the diaries of 18th-century midwife Martha Ballard, who recorded 816 births over 27 years, written between 1785 and 1812 in Hallowell, Maine. Attendance is available in person or on Zoom. Advance registration is recommended since space is limited. Physical copies can be preordered through the Museum Gift Shop and may be added to the registration ticket or purchased separately. New copies are $15. Readers may also purchase the book elsewhere or borrow it through the North Country Library System or another library network. Audiobooks are readily available, while physical copies and eBooks are limited. If a copy cannot be found through the library system or Libby, assistance is available with requesting a library card from another library. An MTG Standard tournament welcomes players for competitive play. Entry costs $5 per participant, and registration opens half an hour before the tournament begins.

Evening Knit and Crochet Circle

Settle in for a relaxed evening with PPL’s knit and crochet circle, a welcoming space for crafters at any level. Occasional supplies and complimentary seasonal patterns may be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own works in progress. Friendly guidance is provided for beginners.

Sirat / Sirât

Ages 0-5 Music & Movement

Toddler Storytime

A welcoming storytime crafted for toddlers ages 18 to 35 months who attend with a caregiver. Little ones will listen to stories, make music, enjoy flannel board storytelling, try fingerplay rhymes, and get moving with simple activities. Registration is not required during the school year.

Chair Yoga for Everyone

This chair-based yoga session at Madrid Hepburn Library offers gentle movements to build muscle tone and ease tension. The session follows a YouTube video presentation. Please consult with your doctor beforehand.

Massena JV Softball @ St. Lawrence Central

St. Lawrence Central of Brasher Falls, NY hosts Massena, NY for a junior varsity softball matchup outside of conference play. The game takes place on St. Lawrence Central's home field.

General Brown Varsity Softball @ Carthage

Varsity softball takes the field as Carthage of New York hosts General Brown from Dexter for a non-conference matchup on the home field. The meeting adds another entry to the programs’ matchup history.

Dungeons & Dragons​

Join the Adventurers’ Guild for a Dungeons & Dragons session. This event is for ages sixteen and up. Whether you are experienced or brand new to the game, all players are welcome. Each session presents a quest that is perfect for newcomers. Together, participants will solve puzzles and battle goblins and dragons, shaping the story with every roll. Come prepared with a level 3 character, or get help from the Dungeon Master by arriving on time and ready to learn.

Geri-Fit For Seniors

This program at Massena Public Library offers sessions for seniors. Multiple session options are available. Registration is required, and donations are appreciated.

Lowville Lions Club April Wellness Matters Seminar

A wellness-focused seminar centered on healthy living. April's guest speaker, Daniel Myers, founder and executive director of Double Play Community Center, will outline the programs, services, and community outreach at Double Play that foster wellness for individuals and families throughout Lewis County. Taking place at Double Play Community Center, this event is open to all.

Chess Open Play

These weekly gatherings welcome all ages and experience levels for casual chess in the Main Reading Room at Canton Free Library. Participants can settle in at any available table for friendly games, with boards provided on site. A selection of other board games is also available, and personal favorites are welcome. Youth Drop In Center

Hosted by Youth of Lewis County (YOLC) at The Raven’s Quill Bookstore, this weekly Youth Drop-In Center creates a welcoming after-school space to relax, be creative, and connect with friends and neighbors. Participants can play video games, enjoy music, work on art projects, or grab a snack and hang out. Parents are asked to complete a waiver.

Teen Book Club

A welcoming book club for teens offers a relaxed space to talk about whatever you are reading. Expect easygoing conversation, simple crafts, and a chance to connect over shared interests. April features a Nature theme, keeping the discussion focused on books and ideas inspired by the natural world. No pressure, just friendly conversation.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format

This Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format tournament features a $5 entry fee per person. Registration begins 30 minutes before the tournament starts.

Game Night

Guided by Grace Metzler, this casual game night offers a chance to learn a new board game or gather a few friends to play one you bring. Participants may bring their own games or pick from the library’s collection, with the option to check one out to take home afterward. Open to adults and teens. Featured games for the month are shared on social media.

Beginner Beekeeper Course

Build a strong foundation in beekeeping or refresh existing skills through an in-depth series of eight sessions focused on apiary management in the North Country. Instruction covers honey bee biology, essential equipment and upkeep, understanding colony behavior and health, how to obtain bees, and seasonal hive care, with guidance from Scott Edmonds. MTG Commander Challenge

Lewis County 4-H Tractor Safety

Hands-on tractor safety training for youth ages 14 and up helps prepare young workers for the farm season. The program runs as a four-class series followed by a test day. To earn a certificate, participants must attend all classes and complete the test. The cost is $25 and it is open to all youth, with the option to enroll in 4-H during registration. Federal regulations require youth under 16 to hold this certification if they will operate tractors off property owned or leased by their parents.

Canton Breast Cancer Screenings

Upstate's mobile mammography team will be on-site at SUNY Canton in Lot 6 near French Hall, offering breast cancer screenings. Women 40 and older who have not had a mammogram in the past year are eligible for screening on the van. Services are available for those with or without health insurance. Patients 45 and older can also get a home colorectal screening kit from We Matter. Appointments are strongly recommended to help ensure you are seen, and limited walk-in availability may be offered as time allows.

Baby Storytime

Designed for babies 0 to 17 months with a caregiver, this gentle storytime features shared books, bouncy rhymes, songs, and simple finger plays, followed by relaxed social and play time. No registration is required.

Playgroup

Toddler Music

This is a mixed-age music and movement class intended for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers. It includes activities to promote musical learning for various age groups. Expect singing, chanting, dancing, finger plays, and playing children’s instruments, or in other words, making noise and jumping around. The class is led by Heather Wheeler, a Crane professor and experienced early childhood music educator. Pre-registration is required, and you can contact the museum about the waitlist if the class is full.

Screening of Gone Guys with Panel Discussion to Follow

Grand Isle Community Mentoring presents a free community event. A 45-minute documentary, based on Richard V. Reeves’ “Of Boys and Men,” uses data and personal stories to highlight challenges currently faced by boys and young men. The film brings national data to life with animation and stories of young men, educators, and mentors in Vermont. It also showcases programs designed to re-engage boys and young men in their communities.

Winter Book Club: American Eden

At the book club meeting, the group will discuss Victoria Johnsons American Eden and enjoy tea and conversation as part of the discussion. This event brings the botanical winter book club to a close and moves into a summer celebration of America 250 and the revolutionary period. The book explores the life of Dr. David Hosack, a friend of both Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, and a brilliant surgeon and world-class botanist.

Brockville Music Fest

In 1951, the Brockville Lions Club created a Music Festival, offering participants the chance to perform and be professionally judged. For over 70 years, the festival has promoted musical achievement. Individuals, community groups, and schools are welcome to participate. This event is a highlight of the weeks greatest performances. Award winners, selected by adjudicators during the Brockville Music Festival, will be honored at the Stars of the Festival Awards Night.

Geri-Fit Strength Training for Seniors

Stay active with Geri-Fit, a strength training program for seniors at Massena Public Library. Multiple sessions are available to fit different schedules. Registration is required, and donations are appreciated.

Culinary Arts Series: Bangladesh Chicken & Tumeric Rice with Shimul Zaman

Part of a Culinary Arts workshop series, this hands-on class highlights Bangladeshi cooking with mango chicken kebabs paired with turmeric rice, led by instructor Shimul Zaman. She shares the culinary heritage of Bangladesh through vibrant spices and time-honored methods, focusing on food that nourishes and celebrates culture. Participants will follow the recipe step by step, hear stories that connect the cuisine to family traditions, and sample the finished dish. The fee is $30 per person, capacity is limited to 15, and all cooking takes place in a certified kitchen that upholds strong quality and safety standards.

Wings and Pizza Night

A wings and pizza night at the Ogdensburg VFW welcomes everyone. The menu includes pizza, wings served boneless or traditional with your choice of sauce, and a range of extras. Expect pizza logs and steak and cheese logs, along with fries, poutine, fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, onion petals, and more.

Lipgloss for Love: Parenting through trauma

This free community presentation highlights the work of Lipgloss for Love and explains available programs, ways to get involved, and how to access support. Topics include social safety, resources for teen dads, youth community services, teen dating, interactive activities that promote healthy relationships, and programs focused on anger management and decision making. Attendees can meet David K., MSW intern, in the herb room.

Weekly Yoga Class

Weekly yoga classes led by Cherice Granger, an RYT 200 instructor, are held in Fellowship Hall. Each session lasts one hour. The cost is $10, payable by cash or Paypal. Participants should bring a yoga mat and a water bottle.

Dandelion Magic & Wishing Lanterns!

At The Silver Cauldron, this hands-on evening centers on the humble dandelion and its long history in folk medicine, healing practices, wish magic, and the themes of resilience and renewal. Participants create a glowing Dandelion Wish Lantern by decoupaging a 16 oz hanging mason jar with tissue paper dandelions, adding fairy lights, and finishing it with natural elements. The finished lantern serves as a vessel for wishes, a place where intention, light, and energy can gather before being released. All materials are provided, and personal items may be brought to customize the craft. Registration is completed with payment via Venmo at @Colleen-Maynebutler or CashApp at $colleenMaynebutler.

Science Play for Preschoolers: Dinosaurs & Fossils (Ages 3-5 years old and their caregivers)

Explore the world of dinosaurs. Designed for young learners, this event allows children to step back in time and discover how big dinosaurs were, what they looked like, and what sounds they may have made. Through hands-on play, stories, and simple experiments, children will find answers to their big questions about dinosaurs. Participants should prepare for a prehistoric adventure.

French Club

At Madrid Hepburn Library, this language club focuses on learning new words in other languages. Participants play bingo and practice conversation in those languages.

Business Resources Mixer

You are invited to the annual St. Lawrence County Spring Business Resources Mixer, where a comprehensive portfolio of resources is available to strengthen businesses. Solutions have been developed to address hurdles identified by local business leaders. This is an opportunity for networking, a program featuring local business leaders sharing their insights into available resources, and conversations with the partners who provide them to promote business success. Advance registration is required, refreshments are provided, and a cash bar is available.

Story time with Mrs Paige

Stories and a simple craft with Mrs Paige are available at Madrid Hepburn Library or virtually. This weekly program provides both in-person and online options. A recording of the story and the craft remains available for 30 days.

Clay n’ Play!

Young artists are invited to discover the possibilities of working with clay. Students will learn techniques such as hand-building, carving, and glazing as they create their own ceramic pieces. The finished pieces will be kiln-fired and returned for participants to take home. No experience is needed, just curiosity and creativity. Bus service from Potsdam Public School is available by parent request, and pre-registration is required.

Visiting Poet: Lindsey Warren

SLC Arts hosts a Poetry Celebration Month event with visiting poet Lindsey Warren at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Warren was born in Elsmere, Delaware and recently received an M.F.A. from Cornell University.

AC Gaming Space hosts a free gathering that complements homeschool studies through learning and play with games. It is designed as a weekly social opportunity where homeschoolers can connect with peers in a friendly setting. Donations are appreciated but not required. Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase in the store.

Baby-N-Me Expo

At Champlain Centre, this expo brings together community agencies that support families with young children. There is no cost to attend and it is open to the public. The expo supports Child Abuse Prevention Month.

100 Women Who Care ~ Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of 100 Women Who Care at Massena Elks Lodge #1702 will focus on group updates, next steps toward nonprofit organization, nominations, and time for questions. Food can be ordered directly from the Elks. Please indicate on the RSVP form if you plan to dine and place your order at the venue before the program begins. Menu information is available on the group’s Facebook page, and a quick poll is being used to estimate the number of food orders. Attendees are also asked to let the organizers know if they plan to attend.

🌸 Flower Moon Full Moon Circle

At The Melting Pot Community Center, this full moon circle honors the Flower Moon, a time linked with growth, renewal, and the blossoming of what has been nurtured. The gathering offers a calm, intentional space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and welcome a new chapter of personal growth. The evening includes a guided meditation, tarot and oracle card readings, and a releasing ritual, along with other reflective moments to help you let go and recharge under the light of the full moon. Poetry @ DAC features poet Lindsey Warren, with an open mic for local voices to follow. Warren was born in Elsmere, Delaware and recently earned her MFA from Cornell University. She received a DDOA Individual Artist Fellowship and was a finalist for the Joy Harjo Prize. Her work has appeared in Rabid Oak, Josephine Quarterly, American Literary Review, and Hobart, among others, and her long poem Incantation was featured in an exhibit at the Biggs Museum of American Art. She divides her time between Ithaca, New York and Newark, Delaware. This ongoing literary series is hosted by poet jim bourey and offers a welcoming space for connection, creativity, and a shared love of the written word. The series is supported by Always Franklin and presented in collaboration with SLC Arts. Admission is free, with donations welcome, suggested $10.

Step into an evening of Victorian indulgence at The Diablo Manor, home to Scott McClelland, a renowned Sideshow owner and collector. For the first time, McClelland opens his home for an evening of Victorian hedonism and bizarre supernatural performances. The night features a tour of the Manors strange artifacts, a sumptuous meal, an intimate Victorian production of mystifying wonders, and concludes with a Seance. This event is for ages 18 and up.

A children’s consignment sale with free entry will take place at Exhibition Hall - fairgrounds over multiple days with differing hours. Shoppers can browse and buy items for kids without an admission fee.

64th Canton Canoe Weekend

Paddling enthusiasts can look forward to a full weekend on the water centered around Taylor Park and the Grasse and Little Rivers. The festivities open with the Rushton Tour, which offers two ways to get moving. One route follows the Grasse River downstream from the Pyrites access to Taylor Park, tracing much of the original course first set in 1962. The other begins at Taylor Park, heads upstream, then returns to the same launch point. The schedule continues with recreational races of 1, 4, and 8 miles for participants in canoes, kayaks, and standup paddleboards, followed by Pro and Amateur C-1 and K-1 events, and capped with a fast 2 mile team relay. The final day features Pro and Amateur tandem competitions in C-2 and K-2. Across the program, international competitions in solo and tandem racing canoes and kayaks take place on courses that are known to be especially challenging, with starts and finishes at Taylor Park.

MTG Pioneer

This tournament has no entry fee. Registration opens half an hour before the start.

Sit and Spin

Enjoy a relaxed hand-spinning meetup at Flower Memorial Library in Watertown, with space in the 1812 Room on the second floor. All experience levels are welcome. Participants can bring a spinning wheel or drop spindle along with any projects to share. Extra drop spindles and fiber will be available for anyone who wants to give spinning a try. Non-guild members are welcome.

Full Moon Yoga Classes

Yoga instructor Cherice Granger leads a recurring full moon practice that follows the lunar calendar, held at First Presbyterian Church. The fee is $10. Bring your own mat and a water bottle. When the full moon falls on a Wednesday, this session takes the place of her regular class. Enter through the Marion Street door.

MUG CLUB @ OLD SOUL

Settle in for a cozy night of music, friendly faces, and conversation at American Legion Post 20. After a long winter, it is a chance to shake off the chill and enjoy time together.

Completely Stranded

Completely Stranded returns to the Strand Center Theatre with a high-energy improv comedy show that turns audience suggestions into on-the-spot characters, scenes, and surprises. Drawing on the quick-hit style made popular by Whose Line Is It Anyway?, cast members Merritt Billiter, Jason Borrie, Andrew Ducharme, and Tiana Saroj dive into favorite short-form games such as Party Quirks, Film, Theatre, TV Styles, and Sound Effects. Expect wacky twists, playful hijinks, and a gleeful sense of chaos from a troupe that has spent 20 years performing across New York and Vermont. The newest installment is titled Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! A cash bar will be available. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of some content, this show is not recommended for children.

Annie in the Water @ The Strand

Annie in the Water brings a lively blend of funk, rock, and soul to The Strand in Watertown, showcasing crisp interplay and rhythms made for dancing. The band is known for crowd-moving sets that keep the energy high from the first note to the last. Tickets are available for $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the show.

Hands-on Basic Gardening * Seeding & Transplanting!

Beginner gardeners can dig into seed starting and transplanting at a friendly, hands-on workshop led by longtime organic farmer Dulli Tengeler at Birdsfoot Farm near Canton, NY. Learn how to choose the right containers for different plants, fill them properly, sow crops like kale, broccoli, chard, lettuce, and flowers, and transplant tomatoes, peppers, and basil. Get practical guidance on timing, varieties, and planting seedlings out. Everyone prepares and takes home several seedlings or seeded six-packs, so please bring a container and leave space in your vehicle to transport them safely. Most of the session takes place in the greenhouse, with an optional garden tour, tool tips, and a Q and A, weather permitting. Tea and cookies will be shared afterward, and bringing homemade cookies to share is welcome but not required. Space is limited and advance registration is required, with a possible wait list. A donation is requested to support Local Living Venture workshops, with suggested amounts of $22 for the general public, $40 for two people, and $10 for students. Donations are collected on site by cash or check, and scholarships, less material costs, are available. The workshop is presented by Birdsfoot Organic Farm and CSA in collaboration with the Local Living Venture. Instructor Dulli Tengeler brings more than three decades of certified organic farming experience and welcomes questions throughout.

The Fire Within: A Beltane Intention Triangle

A creative Beltane workshop at the Silver Cauldron's Beltane event centers on the fire festival’s spirit of rising energy and desire. Through gentle breathwork and a reflective creative process, participants explore Desire, Feeling, and Becoming while crafting a folded intention star. Old Time Jamming 101

At Potsdam Public Library, fiddler Gretchen Koehler leads a free, hands-on old-time jam workshop designed for all ages who have basic skills on an acoustic instrument. Participants may play by ear or use the sheet music and chord charts provided on site. Kentucky Derby Golf Tournament

Derby spirit meets friendly competition at Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course at St. Lawrence University with a four-person team tournament. The round begins with a simultaneous start from multiple holes, and each cart is paired with a Kentucky Derby horse to keep the racing theme alive. After golf, head to the Clubhouse to watch the Kentucky Derby, and if the horse matched to your cart wins, there is a prize. Spectators are welcome to take in the race and the atmosphere even if they are not playing. Team registration is available. Participation is free for members, and non-members pay $45 per person.

Madfest

Madstop's annual music festival marks its 10th year at the Marshall Park Bandstand. Madfest 26' showcases folk and Americana artists from the North Country and across New York State, highlighting local talent on a shared stage. The event features live music and complimentary snacks. Annual Riverside Drive Roadside Cleanup

This roadside cleanup focuses on the Adopt-a-Highway section of Riverside Drive in Canton. Participants meet at the church, then carpool to the starting point. Stories of explosions, abductions, and large scale shootings, along with nightly reports of cruelty and political killings, provide the backdrop.

Work on your own, team up with another zinester, or add pages to the collaborative project Potsdam Salvage. 2026 Annual Tug Hill Bird Quest

This online, region-spanning bird-watching initiative invites classrooms, homeschools, families, and individuals to observe and record the birds that visit nearby spaces. Choose one day each week to watch at a feeder, look out a window, or spend time at a favorite outdoor location, then note every species and number spotted. Collected sightings contribute to a multi-year record tracking which birds arrive in the Tug Hill region each spring. Participants receive engaging bird information, practical tips, learning resources, and daily Bird of the Day emails to support their efforts. Participation is free.

Open Stage Night

Performing artists gather for an open stage evening designed to maximize opportunities to perform. Admission is $2 at the door. Instead of preset time slots, there are 30 general spots. If a name is on the list and the artist is present, the organizers will do their best to give everyone time on stage, with set lengths adjusted according to the number of signups. If all 30 spots are taken, performances are limited to under five minutes or one song so the full lineup can be accommodated. Posh Purse Palooza returns to Garland City Beer Works for its 11th year with a silent auction of new and gently used handbags, each packed with items. A select group of purses will be available for advance online bidding, with most revealed during the in-person auction. Past offerings have included gift certificates, jewelry, bottles of wine, scarves, cosmetics and more, and styles have featured designers such as Coach, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Dooney & Bourke, Vera Bradley and Calvin Klein. Each purse is assigned a value that reflects both the bag and its contents, and guests place bids while enjoying food and drinks. A signature cocktail created for the occasion will direct proceeds to the Volunteer Transportation Center Foundation, and customers can choose to round their purchase totals up to further support the cause. Admission is free. Those wishing to bid in person are asked to RSVP ahead of time to help manage capacity, and donations will be welcomed at the door. Proceeds benefit the Volunteer Transportation Center’s programs that provide rides to medical, dental and other essential health-related appointments throughout Northern New York. Last year the event raised $12,000. Launched in 2015, it paused in 2020 and returned with a hybrid format that continues, with winners announced after bidding closes.

Open Sky Wellness Sound Bath Immersion

Experience a soothing Sound Bath Immersion at OPEN SKY Wellness, LLC with Andrea Lisette Villiere, a Certified Sound Healing Practitioner. The session features the resonant tones of gongs, Himalayan and quartz crystal bowls, alchemy bowls, the steady drone of the Shruti, chimes, drum and more, creating a wave of sound intended to calm the mind and support deep rest. Many people attend for relaxation, better sleep, less stress and anxiety, a quieter mental state, renewed energy and creativity, and an overall sense of peace and wellbeing. During the experience, participants may notice colors or visuals, temperature shifts, tingling sensations, energy moving through the body, emotional release, feelings of lightness, or personal insights. World Migratory Bird Day

At Anchorspace Potsdam, Annabelle Petrichor, an experienced Game Master, leads a drop-in tabletop roleplaying program built so newcomers can step in at any point and returning players can miss sessions without losing track. Participants must be 16 or older. The current system in play is Mothership RPG from Tuesday Knight Games, exploring science fiction, horror, survival, and encounters with aliens. This Potsdam Pride roleplaying night showcases a rotating selection of indie tabletop games that vary in setting and tone and are easy to learn. Clinton Community College 2026 Graduation

2026 Adirondack Quilters Guild Quilt Show

More than 150 quilts created by members of the Adirondack Quilters Guild will be showcased throughout the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church of Malone, a historic setting known for its architecture. Visitors can browse quilts available for purchase, explore a marketplace of vendors, watch quilting demonstrations, and take part in raffles and other offerings. A light lunch will be available for purchase from the Ladies of the Church. Parking is free on the street and in lots. Proceeds will be shared with Helpful Haven respite. Pokemon Bi-Weekly Trade & Play Event

At Crossover Games, collectors and players come together for a recurring Pokémon Trading Card Game trade and play meetup. There is no admission fee. Attendees can trade cards or play the TCG. Both free and paid raffles are available, and the first 20 people to arrive receive a complimentary Rebel Clash Mini Pack. This series has drawn a steady mix of new and returning participants since February.

Musical Story Time

At the Potsdam Public Library, this musical storytime brings children’s books to life with live musical accompaniment that encourages movement, reading, and singing. Guided by Crane School of Music professor Timothy Yip, the program fosters a lively, social path to literacy and welcomes families, kids, and anyone cheering on young readers. Expect interactive storytelling paired with favorites like The Wheels on the Bus, She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain, and BINGO. Admission is free, with optional donations supporting additional arts and literacy programming in the North Country. This project is supported by the Statewide Community Regrants Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with help from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and is administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.

Adults Sourdough Baking Class

Better Living Through Birding: Notes from a Black Man in the Natural World by Christian Cooper blends memoir and travel, tracing the perspective of a self-described Black nerd, comics fan, and expert birder from New York City’s Central Park to journeys across Africa, Australia, the Americas, and the Himalayas, reflecting on claiming and protecting space for himself and others through transformative birding experiences. Tag-Less Yard Sale!

Enjoy a tag-less community yard sale at VFW Post 125 where shoppers can make an offer on every item. All goods are donated by the community, and proceeds benefit the Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh. There is no rain date, and if the weather is poor the sale will be held indoors. Early entry is not permitted. Donations are needed and must be clean and in working condition. Items not accepted include beds and bed components, computers, clothing except shoes, coats, and hats, exercise equipment, children’s car seats, and refrigerators or freezers. Beaver Camp Fundraiser Auction Weekend

A family-friendly fundraising weekend at Lewis County Fair features activities, food, and a live auction. The festivities begin with food, field games, and a trivia night. Auction day starts the next morning with an all you can eat pancake and sausage breakfast, followed by a live auction with heirloom and handmade quilts, experience packages, and other high quality items. A barbecue lunch will be served. SYFC Walk for Youth/Family Fun Day

Take part in a family friendly fundraiser along the Maple City Trail, where participants can walk, run, bike, or rollerblade to support Seaway YFC and its work with teens in St. Lawrence County. The 2K route begins at the YFC Youth Impact Center and includes beverages along the path, with refreshments and prizes at the finish. Entry is $25 for individuals or $100 for a team or family. Individuals who raise at least $25 in sponsorships may register at no cost, and walk participants who meet this sponsorship level receive a free event T-shirt and tickets for door prizes. OVH North Country Challenge

Hosted by Operation Valor Horizon, the OVH North Country Challenge is a community focused ruck at Veterans Memorial Park on the U.S. Oval. It is not a race. The emphasis is on personal effort, honoring service, and supporting the veteran community. Participants choose a 1, 3, or 5 mile goal and may ruck, walk, or run. The course circles the Veterans Memorial, follows the Purple Heart Trail, and passes additional monuments throughout Plattsburgh, offering meaningful reminders of the purpose behind the miles. Those who complete their chosen distance receive a special OVH Challenge Coin as a symbol of commitment, strength, and support. The day features on site registration followed by a group step off. Afterward, Caracciola's Authentic Italian provides food for refueling. Proceeds benefit Operation Valor Horizon and its work for veterans and their families across the North Country.

A biweekly Pokémon Trading Card Game meetup at Crossover Games brings collectors and players together to trade cards and play matches. Admission is free. Guns and Roses Tribute "Use Your Illusion "

Use Your Illusion delivers a high-energy tribute to Guns N' Roses, built around the band's signature anthems. Expect gritty attitude, roaring guitars, and big, unforgettable hooks. It is rock and roll made for belting out every chorus, performed with an unapologetic, full-tilt spirit.

Evening Knit and Crochet Circle

PPL welcomes both newcomers and experienced yarn crafters to a relaxed knit and crochet circle. Occasional supplies and free seasonal pattern handouts may be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own works in progress. Friendly guidance is offered for beginners who would like help getting started.

All Ages & Abilities Farmers’ Market Story Time

Celebrate summer with a weekly lawn gathering led by Ms. Jamie, featuring stories, songs, dancing, and playful activities. Sessions take place every Wednesday throughout June, July, and August. If the weather does not cooperate, the program moves to the library’s Children’s Room. This program welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. RePlay at The American Legion Post 20, Plattsburgh, NY

RePlay returns to American Legion Post 20 with an evening of feel-good music in a welcoming, neighborly setting. Excitement is in the air as familiar tunes set the tone for a relaxed night among friendly faces.

🌿 Soundly Infused: Cello, Singing Bowls & Tea

Settle into a restorative late afternoon at Trillium Teachers and Practitioners featuring live cello, singing bowls, and thoughtfully prepared tea, all intended to encourage deep relaxation and calm the nervous system. The experience begins with a gentle tea-themed guided meditation. Interwoven cello tones and resonant bowls then fill the space, creating a spacious soundscape for mindful, body-centered listening. Attendees can choose from three caffeine-free loose-leaf blends from One Steep At A Time in Canton, NY. During the immersion, guests may place their tea near the instruments so it can be subtly infused by the live vibrations. The gathering concludes with shared tea and unhurried conversation. Afterward, participants can browse and purchase offerings from One Steep At A Time. Registration is $25 and includes tea.

SoulSync Drum Circle

A community-focused drum circle led by Sandy Machuga, a dedicated facilitator and music educator, invites participants to reconnect, recharge, and share joy through rhythm. No experience is required, just an open heart and a willingness to play. Attendees who can bring a hand drum are encouraged to do so, which helps increase the number of available spots. Only hand drums are used for this gathering, other drum types are not accepted.

Ages 0-5 Music & Movement with Guest Sarah Wolfe

This lively, hands-on music and movement session features guest Sarah Wolfe. Children are encouraged to move and sing, and there will be a sing-along with Sarah accompanying on the ukulele. Fourth of July Celebration in the City!

Downtown Plattsburgh honors Independence Day with community festivities that include a parade, a no-cost concert at the MacDonough Monument Bandshell, food trucks set up in Trinity Park, and a fireworks show. Appreciation is extended to the event sponsors.

NCCM Summer Camps

North Country Children's Museum hosts STEAM-focused summer camps for children entering grades 1 through 5. Each week features a new theme, including K-Pop Demon Hunters Theater Camp, Zombie Survival Science Camp, YouTuber Camp, Rockets, Explosions, and Drones, Art & Technology Camp, Grossology Science Camp, NCCM’s Got Talent, and Animal Planet. The cost is $225 per camper for each week, with a 10% discount available for members.

Phoenix Bass Fishing League - Northeast Division

The Phoenix Bass Fishing League’s Northeast Division holds a tournament at Massena Intake Dam. Boats take off from the Massena Intake Boat Launch, and the weigh-in takes place at the same location. The Town of Massena is the host, and the Massena Intake Boat Launch serves as the marina for event operations.

Ages 3-12 Beat the Heat Kits

Keep little ones cool and sun smart with take-home wellness kits created for ages 3 to 12. Each kit includes sunscreen, materials to make a paper fan, SPF lip balm, a cooling towel, a reusable water bottle, and information about the Summer Reading Program. Pick up at the Circulation Desk. 2026 Malone Sports Cards and Collectibles Show Benefit for JCEO

The Malone Middle School Gymnasium hosts a full day of buying, selling, and trading for collectors of all kinds, from serious investors and set builders to families exploring the hobby together. This show is a 100 percent benefit for Franklin County, with all proceeds from admissions and raffles supporting local JCEO programs, including food pantries, Head Start, and energy and housing assistance. A special guest appearance by Jimmy Mann adds to the excitement. Recognized as the first draft pick in Winnipeg Jets franchise history in 1979, he served as an NHL enforcer and spent time with the Winnipeg Jets, Quebec Nordiques, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Paid admission includes one autograph and one photo, and additional autographs are available for $5 each. Guests are welcome to bring jerseys, cards, and other memorabilia. Explore a broad vendor floor featuring vintage and modern sports cards, TCG such as Pokémon and Magic, high-end memorabilia, and unique collectibles. On-site supplies like top-loaders, sleeves, and storage options make it easy to protect new finds. Raffles and prizes run throughout the event, and winners must be present to claim prizes. Food and drinks are available from The Food Dudes food trucks on site. Admission options include VIP early access for $10 and general admission for $5. Free parking is available in the main school lot. Vendors can reserve standard 6-foot tables for $50, with limited availability confirmed upon payment, and reservations can be made by direct message or email.
