Teen Film Club for ages 13-17

A book club approach, but centered on cinema. Teens ages 13 to 17 gather in the Teen Area every other week to dive into storytelling, explore themes, trade critiques, and even share a few affectionate roasts of unforgettable films from many eras. Expect conversations that range from noir-tinged classics to contemporary mind-benders, with spoilers held back until everyone has seen the selection. Please watch the movie in advance. No registration is required. Upcoming picks include Notorious (1946), Clueless (1995), Seven Men from Now (1956), Inception (2010), Touch of Evil (1958), Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), and The Remains of the Day (1993). Intro to Scent

Introduce your dog to the sport of NoseWork in a playful class where searching for scent, with food as the target, is taught through engaging games. This mental workout is a popular way to keep canine minds busy. It is well suited for active dogs, pups with physical limitations, and everything in between. Dogs that are reactive toward people or other dogs can take part as well. The class is led by Stephanie, a certified NoseWork instructor.

Open Mic Night

Hosted by My 4 Dads, this open mic night welcomes musicians, poets, and artists of all kinds to take the stage and share their talents. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be sign-ups for performers.

Intermediate Family Dog

Built for those who have completed Basics, this intermediate dog training class expands on foundational skills. Teams practice maintaining attention through noise and motion distractions, strengthening focus, engagement, and reliable responses. The program lasts six weeks and is required before the Canine Good Citizen prep course.

Adult Barre Fitness

Designed for ages 18 and up, this fitness class blends barre, Pilates, and cardio ballet for a full-body workout. It is offered in 10-week sessions priced at $130 per session, with a full year option available at $360 per session, and drop-in attendance is welcome at a $17 per class rate. Family Dog Basics

Designed for puppies six months and older as well as adult dogs, this program builds essential foundation skills through positive reinforcement and science-backed training. Participants learn to communicate clearly with their dogs and nurture problem solving while developing everyday manners. The curriculum includes sit, down, stay, recall, loose leash walking, leave it, polite greetings, and more.

Fiber Artists Group

Connect with other fiber art enthusiasts at an informal drop-in where crafters work side by side on their own textile projects. No advance registration is needed. EpiscoPints April Gathering

EpiscoPints is a monthly meetup for young adults and the young at heart who are curious, questioning, or simply seeking good conversation and meaningful connection. This edition takes place at Fattey Beer Co., with Rev. Bonnie Morris leading an open, relaxed conversation about what it means to be Episcopal. No advance preparation is needed and the atmosphere is low pressure, with room for thoughtful questions, shared stories, and time to wonder together. The series moves to different locations each month and a new priest or leader guides each discussion. Open to all.

Reactive Rehab 1

Kirtan with Megan & Nick

At Devi Performing Arts, Megan Callahan and Nick Stroczkowski, along with friends, lead a late afternoon kirtan rooted in Bhakti yoga. Kate's Krew Annual After Party Fundraiser

Following Walk MS at the Outer Harbor, the celebration continues with an after-party and fundraiser at the American Legion, Milton J. Brounshidle Post No. 205. Guests can enjoy food and drinks and take part in a massive raffle that includes a big-ticket drawing for a 65-inch Vizio TV donated by a team member, along with numerous basket raffles featuring a wide variety of themes. Intro to Agility

Learn the fundamentals of canine agility in a four week mini course for handlers and their dogs. Each session introduces new equipment, builds confidence, and strengthens body awareness, coordination, and engagement with the handler. Teams will work through movement challenges and short obstacle sequences. It is open to dogs from puppy through adulthood and serves as the prerequisite for Agility Foundations.

Agility Foundations

Beginner teams of handlers and their dogs practice the building blocks of agility, strengthening communication while learning together. The curriculum highlights body awareness, coordination, strength and attentive focus, all taught with a priority on safety. Participants are introduced to fundamental handling skills and the correct way to approach each obstacle so training stays clear, confident and fun. Completion of Intro to Agility or a Basic Obedience class is required before joining Foundations.

Drum Circle at Painted Love (Dancers are Welcome!)

A welcoming community drum circle at Painted Love - Art & Wellness Studio invites both drummers and dancers. Beginners are encouraged, and no prior musical background is required. Drums are available on site, or participants may bring their own. Creative Kids Night - May 2026

At Painted Love, Creative Kids Nights offer a welcoming arts experience for children ages 7 to 12. Each session begins with an instructor-led painting, and every participant takes home a finished piece the same day. Themes change regularly, with subjects such as fall leaves, penguins, and rainbow polar bears, so there is always something new to create. After the painting portion, kids dive into music, theatre, and creative movement that nurture self expression, confidence, and connection. Expect plenty of laughter, play, new friendships, and a supportive atmosphere where young artists can explore multiple art forms. The price is $30 per event.

Family Themed Bingo Nights

Family Themed Bingo Nights brings extra excitement to the Town of Tonawanda Senior Center with a different theme for each event. The evening features themed activities followed by an hour of bingo. Family registration is $5. Prizes for winners are donated by Ken-Ton Kiwanis, and pizza and snacks will be available for purchase.

MOTHER’S DAY CANDLE & WOOD FLOWER WORKSHOP @ A GUST OF SUN WINERY

Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with a hands-on evening of creativity at A Gust of Sun Winery. Craft a wood flower arrangement and pour a custom candle at the candle bar. The Minutes

Towne Players of Ken-Ton present The Minutes, written by Tracy Letts and directed by Jane Cudmore, at Sheridan Parkside Community Center Theater. This dark, biting comedy examines small town politics and the mechanics of power. From the writer of August: Osage County, it challenges comforting American myths and asks audiences to consider what they might do to avoid ending up on the losing side of history. Beauty and self-care offerings span estheticians, body care brands creating oils, scrubs, soaps, butters, and lotions, candle makers, permanent jewelry, waist beads, hair stylists, hair care products, nail and brow artists, and spa lines. Lavender 101 Class & U-Pick

Spend an evening at Kin Loch learning the essentials of growing, caring for, and enjoying lavender at home in a relaxed session designed for beginners. After the lesson, head into the fields to hand cut a fresh bouquet, with Folgate English lavender in bloom and ready to harvest. Each participant also receives a lavender plant to take home. Instruction lasts about 20 minutes, and the remaining time is set aside for harvesting at your own pace. In the event of extreme weather, the class may be postponed, with the option to transfer to the rain date or receive a refund. Otherwise, tickets are nonrefundable.

Bloom Scout Training 2026

Garden lovers who want to help keep Kenmore looking its best can volunteer as Bloom Scouts, a group that spotlights standout homes, businesses, and community spaces for Bloom Awards during the Kenmore in Bloom season. Volunteers are assigned areas within the Village to explore, then assess plantings and overall beautification to help identify award-worthy locations. A training session is required and covers how the program works, what features to look for in gardens, how zones are assigned, and how to complete final selections. 4th Annual Niagara Falls Ancient Earth Honoring & Summer Solstice Despacho Ceremony

This gathering at Niagara Falls State Park centers on deep connection with the living power of the Falls through contemplative walking, the opening of sacred space, community sharing, and joyful circle music. It culminates in a despacho, an offering bundle created to honor the waters with intentions of healing, purification, and gratitude. Guided imagery led by Andrea supports a felt connection with the earth and water elements. Drumming and ceremonial songs are offered by Chakuna Machi Asa, and participants are welcome to bring drums, rattles, bells, or other simple instruments to add to the music. Attendees are encouraged to carry a bundled Pachakuti Mesa or altar piece, a personal medicine item, or a favorite crystal or stone, and to keep it lightweight since it will be held for much of the program. Comfortable, sturdy footwear suits both paved paths and trails. Bring drinking water and sun protection, and consider packing a meal or snacks, as food is available on site and a break for lunch is planned. For the offering bundle, bring only biodegradable items from plant, mineral, earth, or animal sources, since it will be given to the water, and avoid plastics, synthetic dyes, or anything that could harm wildlife, the water, or the land. The gathering honors the water element, referred to here as Mama Killa, and offers collective energy medicine to this sacred place in communion with Pachamama, Mother Earth, and the spirit of the Falls. The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, rooted in Peruvian Curanderismo and Paqokuna and shared by Don Oscar Miro-Quesada, informs the ceremonies. A despacho is a traditional offering bundle created with care to acknowledge fire, water, earth, and spirit, helping individuals and groups align with the vital forces of nature. 6th Annual Little Bakery Summer Smoke

At The Little Bakery, this cigar-focused gathering provides each attendee with two premium cigars plus food and a beverage. Stomp Boxes will perform live, and raffles will be offered. Hosted at SUNY Niagara, this tournament begins with registration, followed by a judges meeting, an opening ceremony, and an exhibition before competition gets underway. Divisions include creative and extreme weapons with forms, traditional weapons with forms, flag sparring, stick fighting, point sparring, double elimination sparring, and open rank sparring. Grand Championships take place immediately after the relevant age and rank divisions conclude. The schedule is flexible, so competitors should be ready to compete up to 30 minutes before the posted start times.

Mythical Creatures Summer Camp - Kenmore

At Kenmore Community Center, young adventurers dive into a realm of folklore and fantastical beings from around the world. Each session highlights a different culture’s tales through stories, hands-on art, and imaginative play. Campers create creature sunset silhouettes, design protective shields and explore elemental themes, chart myths on a world map, and practice hero and creature movements. Along the way they craft plumed serpent collages and sea guardian masks, follow a footprint trail, make guardian creature puppets, and explore wind and wave pattern paths with postcards from island and mountain settings. Culinary moments add to the experience, from noodle bowls inspired by Greek legends to colorful dragon fruit wands. The camp wraps up with a lively showcase where each participant presents a favorite mythical being in a celebratory parade of global lore.

A Day in Niagara Falls

Hands-on science and math bring the past to life as participants investigate where dinosaurs lived, compare herbivores and carnivores, measure enormous strides, and construct 3D habitat scenes. The event supports two causes that were important to him, providing scholarships through Lackawanna High School and backing a Small Business Grant program for the Village of Kenmore. Wicked Summer Camp - Kenmore

In Kenmore, this Wicked-themed summer camp invites kids to explore the world of Elphaba and Glinda with guidance from Miss Jodi. Each day blends creativity, collaboration, and a dash of theatrical fun through art, music, dance, reading, writing, science, social studies, math, culinary projects, and team challenges. Campers craft a Fiyero-inspired scarecrow, design either an Elphaba hat or a Glinda crown, build their own wands, create miniature character game pieces, and finish the week with DIY broomsticks. Hands-on fun includes potion mixing, a water balloon challenge that plays with the idea of defying gravity, and simple magic tricks. In the kitchen, themed treats range from an Elphaba and Glinda punch bar to rice krispie creations and an edible gown inspired by Glinda. Literacy moments feature a read aloud of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked trivia, and a choose-your-own-adventure writing session.
