Original Ghost Tour of Old Town Albuquerque

Explore the eerie side of historic Old Town Albuquerque on a lantern-lit walking tour that has been guiding visitors since 2001. Professional storytellers lead a 105-minute stroll through plazas, alleys, and pathways that have seen more than three centuries of life in the city’s birthplace. Legends and local lore blend with real history, touching on lost loves, Civil War echoes, murders, hangings, and hidden burial grounds. The tour shares reported encounters from residents, workers, and travelers, including sightings of full-bodied apparitions, unexplained voices, and objects that seem to move on their own. Old Town is described as one of the most actively haunted places in North America. This is a family-friendly experience with a PG rating for historical details that may be intense for younger or sensitive guests. It is not a haunted house and there are no staged jump scares. The focus is classic ghost storytelling and history, with opportunities to review evidence gathered by investigators over the past 25 years. Skeptics are welcome. Guests are encouraged to bring a digital camera, and ghost-hunting equipment rentals are available. The route stays outdoors, with most stops viewed from exterior walkways, and there are places to sit along the way. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes, as tours continue in all conditions. Adult admission is listed as $35 before tax and fees, with gratuity optional. Locally woman owned and operated, this long-running experience has been featured on national programs and popular series, and it has earned sustained praise from travelers, including recent TripAdvisor awards.

Dracup, inducted into the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame in 2024, has performed for more than four decades as a solo artist and as guitarist and vocalist with New Mexico groups including The Muttz, The Rattlecats, and Soul Kitchen. His playing spans bottleneck slide rooted in southern delta traditions and electric blues shaped by classic Texas and Chicago sounds, and his recent project, Chris Dracup: Funk of the West, blends American funk and blues with Afro pop percussion crafted for the dance floor.
