SOMAYOGA- Level 2

This beginner friendly class approaches yoga through a somatic perspective. Participants explore gentle somatic movement and yoga therapy techniques to support and deepen a traditional asana practice. Small, mindful movements coordinated with breath help release stored tension and build awareness. Each session weaves in meditation, breathwork, seated and standing postures, and concludes with a restorative savasana to integrate the work. The focus is on listening inward and honoring what the mind and body need, creating a foundation that meets practitioners exactly where they are.

Monstera Leaf Bowl Class

Sculpt a monstera leaf bowl in a beginner-friendly pottery session that uses slab building. Instructors guide you through shaping and carving the leaf's characteristic openings and curves, then help form it into a sculptural dish suited for fruit, keys, or jewelry, or simply as a decorative accent. When the piece is complete, it is dipped in a lush green glaze that highlights the leafy details. The studio handles the kiln firing, and finished bowls will be ready for pickup in about two to three weeks. No prior clay experience is required. A love of plants is welcome, even if the real ones can be a challenge.

Shortcut to Summer Challenge '26

All Star Nutrition Fargo brings back a six-week transformation challenge designed to help participants lose fat, build muscle, and keep momentum as summer approaches. Entry is free, and the prize pool exceeds $15,000, with highlights such as a seven-night trip to Mexico, a year of supplements, a Theragun, a Ninja Creami, and additional rewards. Progress is tracked in men’s and women’s categories, and participants earn $5 in store credit for every pound of muscle gained and for each percent of body fat reduced. For every result achieved, $1 is donated to Ronald McDonald House. History Colloquium

Part of the History Colloquium, this presentation by Jacob Clauson, a PhD candidate in history, explores farmer-built tractors and hands-on engineering across the Northern Great Plains from 1950 to 1990. In the Red River Valley of the North, heavy clay soils demanded powerful equipment and four wheel drive machines came with steep price tags, so some producers crafted homemade solutions often nicknamed frankentractors. The talk traces how these grassroots experiments adapted technology to local conditions and tight budgets, complicating familiar top down stories of postwar mechanization. It follows the region’s role as a hub for innovation, including farmyard builds that grew into nationally known names such as Steiger. By placing these machines within broader histories of agricultural technology, the session highlights how smaller operators balanced scale, cost, and control to stay viable. Talent Tuesday at the Fargo Workforce Center offers a welcoming space to connect with local employers and community resources. Job seekers can speak directly with businesses to explore current openings, and can sign up for a practice interview when they arrive. Employers and community resource partners can showcase employment opportunities and meet community members face to face.

Warehouse Expansion Ribbon Cutting & Celebration

This celebration marks a milestone for FMRRV and the local families it serves, featuring a short program and a ribbon cutting. The warehouse has expanded from 13,000 to over 17,000 square feet within the same building, now offering a layout better suited to furniture, added loading access, and updated commercial racking provided by Border States Electric. Over six years, FMRRV has supported more than 3,800 local families by distributing upwards of 50,000 pieces of furniture free of charge. The gathering is open to all, and voluntary contributions are welcome.

Unglued Happy Crafty Hour: Faux Frosting Floral Key Fob!

Brewhalla’s Unglued Craftatorium offers a relaxed happy hour craft session featuring a faux frosting floral key fob project. Transform an old-school motel key fob into a keychain or bag charm using Decoden-style faux frosting and floral charms. The project costs $5, with materials provided and a craftender available to answer questions. It is a drop-in format, so you can create at your own pace. Attendees can also bring their own craft supplies and unfinished DIY kits to work on anywhere around Brewhalla. "Lone Dog Road" with Author Kent Nerburn

At Moorhead Public Library, award winning author Kent Nerburn shares an evening of stories and conversation centered on his latest book, "Lone Dog Road." Known for compassionate portrayals of Native American life and the American landscape, he presents a haunting and hopeful tale about a wanderer, a young boy, and a journey across the wind swept prairies of the Dakotas. The Minnesota Book Award winner (Neither Wolf nor Dog, The Wolf at Twilight) will discuss the inspirations behind his work, reflect on decades of writing at the crossroads of cultures, and explore themes of healing and heritage that shape his prose. Bluegrass Jam

An evening of bluegrass and Americana unfolds at the Troll Lounge, where musicians can bring their instruments to play and fans can simply listen. There is no charge for admission. The lounge offers drink specials, and the Troll Grill will be open.

Resilient Yard Series: Make Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop

Learn how to build your own rain barrel while supporting the health of the Red River and creating a more resilient yard. This hands-on workshop includes a brief talk about water quality and the effects of stormwater runoff. Each participant will leave with an empty barrel with a 55-gallon capacity in white or blue, and the fee covers the remaining materials. A drill is needed to complete installation at home. Bring one if you can, otherwise a limited number will be available to share during the session. Held at a park in Moorhead, the cost is $44 or $39 for Moorhead residents, and advance registration through Moorhead Community Education is required. Presented by River Keepers and the Clay Soil and Water Conservation District, with support from Cass County Soil Conservation District, Clay Soil and Water Conservation District, Moorhead Parks and Recreation, West Fargo Fairgrounds, Valley Maid Meats, and Coca-Cola.

Stitch & Sip Nights!

Settle in for a relaxed stitch and sip meet-up where crafters work on knitting, crochet, embroidery, or any other project to unwind and make progress on their stash or kits. Kits from Unglued are available to use. All skill levels are welcome, and it is free to hang out. A beverage from Brewhalla can add to the experience. The group typically gathers on the second-floor mezzanine at Brewhalla, marked by a small sign, with a friendly crew happy to help troubleshoot craft questions. It also overlaps with Happy Crafty Hours for anyone interested in doubling up on creativity.

University Symphony Orchestra and University Band Concert

The University Symphony Orchestra and the University Band present a joint performance at Festival Concert Hall. Admission is available at the door for $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and students. NDSU students with ID are admitted free. The concert will also be available to stream online.

Stars of the Grand Ole Opry

At Avalon Events Center, Ozark Jubilee from Branson presents a salute to Grand Ole Opry favorites, featuring music associated with Roy Acuff, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Ray Price, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride, Porter Waggoner, and others. Comedy is provided by Doofus Doolittle, a Branson comedian who has performed with many of these legends and shares stories from his experiences. The show also highlights champion fiddle and accomplished violin performances by Randy Newman. Dog Training Pack Walk

This structured pack walk offers dogs a relaxed, neutral social outing while moving together with clear guidance and ample space. It suits dogs working through reactivity or overstimulation, handlers looking to improve leash skills and engagement, and anyone who appreciates being around fellow dog owners. Participants walk as a group with consistent spacing between dogs, on-leash greetings are not allowed, and the focus stays on calm, steady movement in the same direction. For safety and consistency, dogs remain on leash at all times, retractable leashes are not permitted, there is a one-dog-per-handler limit, and dogs must be current on rabies, Bordetella, and distemper vaccinations. Please bring a standard 4 to 6 ft leash, the training tools you typically use, and water for both you and your dog. If challenges arise, the walk provides a supportive setting to work through them rather than avoid them. The walk takes place at Smart K9 Training in Fargo, ND. An RSVP is required.

The Make-A-Wish dozen is available for pre-order and pickup in 15+ towns, offering an easy way to enjoy a sweet treat while supporting more wishes.

Learn handbuilding basics while shaping a personal sipper or slurper from clay slabs. Customize your cup by brushing on underglazes in a range of colors, or carve patterns and choose a studio dip glaze for an earthy finish. Pieces will be fired in the kiln and available for pickup in about two to three weeks. This class is ideal for beginners and for anyone who enjoys making handmade items.

Portraits for Paws

Create a one-of-a-kind pet portrait at Yunker Farm and Dog Park in partnership with Homeward Animal Shelter. Participants can paint their own pet or choose an animal on site, with guidance from an instructor throughout. Registration is $17 and includes all supplies, and optional donations are encouraged to support the shelter. Space is limited, so advance reservations are recommended. If painting your own pet, send a photo at least one week ahead so the canvas can be prepared. Those who paint a shelter pet may choose to donate the finished portrait to the future family who adopts them, adding a meaningful touch to an adoption story.

Growing Together: A Parenting Series

Safe Kids Fargo-Moorhead, in partnership with the Family Resource Center and Moorhead Community Education’s Early Childhood Family Education program, offers a six week parenting series designed to support families. In Sweden, communities also gather for speeches and songs that honor renewal, a tradition that inspires the uplifting spirit of this occasion.

Bonsai Club!

Head to Baker Garden & Gift for North Dakota’s only bonsai club as it offers a hands-on workshop that combines learning and practice. Participants pot a bonsai to take home while exploring the tradition’s cultural background, time-tested methods, and how today’s growers adapt the craft. The club emphasizes tropical species that thrive indoors, keeping the hobby enjoyable year-round. Tickets include a 6 inch terracotta pot, one bonsai plant, wiring materials, and bonsai soil. Film Premiere: "Founding Moorhead"

Experience the premiere of Founding Moorhead, a new 25-minute documentary short that traces the community’s beginnings through the treaties that allowed settlement, the stories of early pioneers, and the Northern Pacific Railway’s selection of a bridge site in 1871. The film was created by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County (HCSCC) and Moorhead Community Access Media (MCAM), in collaboration with the Moorhead Arts and Culture Commission. Writer and presenter Markus Krueger adapted one of his local History on Tap talks into a script, and director Tony Tilton brought it to the screen with on-location filming at Probstfield Farm, Burbank Station, Buffalo River State Park, and downtown Moorhead. Following the screening, Krueger and Tilton will lead a question and answer session about making this historical documentary, which may grow into an ongoing series. This event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required.

Rainbow Recovery Thursday Step and Topic Meeting

An LGBTQIA-hosted Alcoholics Anonymous meeting that centers on a daily reading from the book Wisdom of the Rooms. Each month’s focus aligns with the corresponding Step. New participants can ask to return to Step 1 so no one feels left out or overwhelmed. Sharing is encouraged and can include anything meaningful to recovery, whether or not it ties directly to the Step or topic. The atmosphere is inclusive and open minded, with conversation focused on struggles, hope, and healing related to alcohol and addiction.

Advance Funeral Planning- a Senior Social Special Event

A Senior Social special event at the Moorhead Public Library in The Loop explores advance funeral planning and the reassurance that comes from clearly sharing end-of-life wishes. Tom Pence, Advance Planning Director with Korsmo Funeral Service, will lead a conversation about communicating plans, from simple arrangements to more detailed preferences, and how doing so can ease stress for loved ones. Attendees can ask questions and pick up planning guides to help start the process. The program is free, open to all ages, and requires no registration. Refreshments will be available.

Kids 'Que

A hands-on youth barbecue competition held as part of the ND BBQ Championship, presented by Alsager Meats, invites kids to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the excitement of barbecue in a supportive, family-friendly setting. Hosted at SCHEELS Home & Hardware, the event includes a mandatory cook’s meeting and uses charcoal grills. Two divisions are featured. Participants ages 6 to 11 prepare sliders with ground beef, and ages 12 to 17 cook sirloin steaks. Parents must be present for the entire cook, with an emphasis on letting the kids handle the process themselves. Ingredients are provided by Alsager Meats. For the slider division, only the beef is supplied, so families bring buns, garnishes, sauces, seasonings, and any additional items for presentation. Intro to Wheel Throwing

Explore the basics of wheel throwing in a focused two hour session that covers centering clay, pulling up walls, and trimming on the pottery wheel. Choose a glaze and receive one finished bowl or cup after firing in about two to three weeks. This class is intended for ages 13 and older. Participants under 16 must attend with an adult who also holds a ticket. All supplies are included, so simply bring your creativity. A reflective gathering invites participants to explore the full moon’s influence on mind and body, followed by a shared practice to affirm an intention or prayer for the time ahead. Guidance comes from Kim, a practitioner of Jyotisha, the Indian tradition of astrology and astronomy also known as Vedic or Sidereal Astrology. She studies within a respected lineage and carefully works with ancient techniques that trace how patterns of light affect life on Earth. This approach differs from Tropical or Western Astrology and is the source of those systems. All supplies and protective gear are provided, and you are welcome to bring your own work gloves so they fit the way you like. This program, with assistance from the West Fargo Police & Fire Departments, aims to prepare children aged 8-15 to stay home alone safely. It will cover safety expectations, accident prevention, and emergency planning. Participants will receive review questions and an emergency magnet. KIDSFEST 2026

Big/Little Aerial Silks

This class welcomes an adult and child team to discover the basics of aerial silks together, with plenty of time to twirl, explore, and build confidence. The cost is $35 for one adult and one child, with the option to add a third participant, adult or child, for $15. For additional family members, purchasing a second ticket is recommended. Easter Egg Scramble

This family-friendly event has been postponed. It offers an egg hunt, inflatable bounce fun, a hands-on petting zoo presented by Trowbridge Creek Zoo, and creative face painting by The Painted Turtle. Kids can ride the barrel train, enter a coloring contest, toast marshmallow Peeps, scale a climbing wall, and enjoy concessions. Give kids a fresh way to move and learn with a three-week aerial silks foundations series designed for ages 10 and up. Each one-hour class focuses on working primarily out of the knot with two fabric panels. Participants practice climbing, learn to place footlocks on the floor and in the air, and explore a range of wraps. Students who can classic climb twice on each side without touching down, set even double footlocks in the air, and invert without handwraps or a knot are invited to continue into the Progressive Class. The full series costs $90. All registrations are nonrefundable, and missed classes are not refunded or rescheduled.

Monday Night Gravel Race Series - Race 2

Race 2 of a multi-night gravel cycling series features a roughly 15 to 20 mile route with signage guiding riders along the course. Check-in is required before racing, and this round will begin and roll out from Rendezvous Park. The specific course will be announced in advance. Registration is required for this free series, and a single registration covers participation on any number of race nights. A helmet is mandatory. A rear light and headlight are recommended since the roads remain open to traffic, and wearing headphones is discouraged. Be prepared to handle your own mechanicals by carrying tube or tubes, tire levers, CO2 or a pump, a multitool, and a way to call for help if needed. Each participant will receive a numbered plate to attach to the front of the handlebars so it is easy to read. Strava segments will be used to confirm the route and provide supplemental timing. Aero bars are not permitted, and littering is not allowed. Riders select and register for the category that fits their eligibility and goals. Series points are awarded by finish position within each category, with a rider’s best three results counting toward the overall standings. Participants may change categories during the series, but points only apply to the category raced on that night. To be included in overall series standings, FlatLands Cycling membership is required, except for U23 racers who do not need to be members to be counted in U23 standings.

Soul Shop Fargo

Many congregations include a significant number of people who have been personally touched by suicide, sometimes as many as half of those present. This all-day Soul Shop workshop offers suicide prevention training through a faith lens, equipping participants with practical tools to nurture hope, extend care, and strengthen connections within their communities. The training welcomes pastors, priests, youth directors, educators, counselors, therapists, faith community nurses, ministry leaders, and lay leaders, as well as anyone who feels called to respond to suicidal desperation. Participants will leave with an empty 55-gallon barrel in white or blue. A drill is needed for installation at home. Bring one if you have it, and a few will be available to share. Pour Your Own Epoxy™ (May 6th at Unglued, Fargo, ND)

This hands on workshop at Unglued inside Brewhalla Market and Event Center in Fargo guides participants in crafting a custom epoxy river piece. Select from a charcuterie board, lazy susan, clock, key holder shelf, coasters, or a mini pair. Each project features black walnut and other select hardwoods, enhanced with epoxy in up to two colors chosen upon arrival. After the session, projects cure for about a week, then enter a careful finishing phase that typically takes eight to ten weeks, with timing influenced by class size and shipping. Growing Together: A Parenting Series

A six week parenting series presented in collaboration with the Family Resource Center, Moorhead Community Education’s Early Childhood Family Education, and Safe Kids Fargo-Moorhead is hosted at the Vista Center for Education. This installment highlights caregiver wellbeing as an essential part of family care. The session begins with refreshments and a shared caregiver and child activity, followed by a presentation, and on site child care is available. Participants may attend a single session or take part in the full series. Advance sign up is encouraged, though not required.

Pour Your Own Epoxy™ (May 7th at Swing Barrel Brewing Co., Moorhead, MN)

Create a custom epoxy river piece at a guided, hands-on workshop at Swing Barrel Brewing Co. Choose from several projects, including a charcuterie board, lazy susan, clock, key holder shelf, a set of coasters, or a mini pair. Work with premium black walnut and other select hardwoods, then personalize your design with up to two epoxy colors chosen when you arrive. After the session, your piece will cure for about a week before entering a careful finishing phase that typically takes 8 to 10 weeks, with timing influenced by class size and shipping. Once finished, your project will be shipped to you. All ticket sales are final. If you cannot attend, you may send someone in your place. Each attendee aged 12 and older must have a ticket, and a couples ticket allows two people to collaborate on a single project.

Floral Watercolor Monogram w/ Maker Nature

Create a custom floral monogram with local maker Ashley Dedin Carlson in a hands-on watercolor workshop at the Unglued Craftatorium at Brewhalla. Learn the basics of color mixing and brushwork to paint lush botanical details, then use a masking technique to reveal your chosen initial for a crisp, eye-catching finish. Everyone leaves with a completed piece that reflects personal style. This workshop is open to participants from middle school age through adult, and each person needs their own ticket. Noon Class Series: Therapeutic Yoga with Kim

Community Collage Pop Up

At the Fountain Court in West Acres, an interactive portrait studio comes to life as Community Collage brings a public art project with national recognition to Fargo. Guided by founder and photographer Josh Madson, known for bold black and white portraiture, this free pop-up welcomes community members to pose for the camera, receive two professional digital portraits delivered right away, and contribute to a shared mural that reflects the people and spirit of the Fargo-Moorhead area. Participants become part of a large-scale installation that celebrates identity, belonging, and community pride. The effort has grown into a nationwide movement, photographing thousands and turning their stories into powerful visual experiences displayed in prominent public settings. SOMAYOGA- Level 1

This Level 1 somayoga class emphasizes gentle somatic awareness and mindful breathwork, including pranayama. Participants explore hip and heart opening movements and are guided toward deeper rest and relaxation. Most of the practice occurs on the floor with props for support to encourage ease and comfort. The experience fosters connection to Soma by integrating mind, body, and spirit, helps calm the nervous system, and supports honoring personal needs to live more fully.

Glass Mosaic Garden Bricks w/ Jenny Sue (Mother's Day!)

Create a glass mosaic garden brick during a hands-on workshop with Jenny Sue. Learn to use a glass nipper to cut colorful stained glass into small pieces, then arrange and glue them into a unique design. Follow a sample pattern or map out your own idea. The session covers mosaic fundamentals, including choosing tools, adhesives, and grout, so you can continue making projects on your own. Hosted at the Unglued Craftatorium at Brewhalla, it is open to adults and older teens, and each participant must hold a ticket. Registration includes all supplies and step by step instruction to complete one mosaic brick. Refunds are available when requested at least 72 hours before the start, after that refunds are not issued unless a wait list can be used, and registrations may be transferred to another person. A minimum of five participants is required, and if that number is not reached participants will be notified and refunded.

How to Meditate 4 Week Series

A four week series offers clear, supportive instruction for starting or strengthening a home meditation routine. Guided by Andrea Krejci Paradis, the classes welcome newcomers to yoga-based meditation as well as anyone ready to commit to a consistent practice. Sessions explore what meditation is through the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, why it can reduce stress, support better sleep, and expand perspective, and how to sit comfortably for practice. Participants learn pranayama breathing techniques and map out a sustainable home sadhana with practical steps. Attend in person at Downtown Yoga Fargo or join virtually from home. The program is presented in partnership by HCSCC, the Moorhead Senior Center, and Moorhead Parks and Recreation.

The Great Western Regional FARE

Hosted by the Shire of Korsvag at North Dakota Horse Park, this regional gathering focuses on Fighting, Archery, Rapier, and Equestrian pursuits, offering a full slate of Society for Creative Anachronism activities along with ample room for classes indoors and outdoors. The facility features a full archery range, a thrown weapons area, an equestrian track and field, and camping space for up to 200 tents. A large fighting field supports rapier, armored, and siege combat. Equestrian programming is a primary emphasis, with authorizations and demonstrations planned. The field can support multiple tournaments at the same time or a mix of tournaments and melees, and the schedule includes melee practices, combat archery, and large cut and thrust scenarios. Merchant space will be available. Parking accommodates more than 200 vehicles and trailers, and there is a designated RV area that may involve an additional fee. Stalls are offered for horses, with riders responsible for their own feed and bedding. Site fees are $55 for adults and $45 for adult members, payable by check to SCA Inc Shire of Korsvag. FM Aerial Youth Summer Camps

A playful summer program in the aerial arts that nurtures movement, creativity, and exploration. Kids can try aerial silks, hoop and lollipop apparatus, juggling, hula hooping, acro yoga, and dramatic movement in a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and confidence. Designed for children ages 6 to 12 who have completed kindergarten, with participants grouped by age for the right level of challenge. Each camp spans five days, Monday through Friday. Four sessions are offered across the summer. Regular tuition is $300, with an early bird rate of $250 available.

Youth Camp: Superhero Studio

At Plains Art Museum, young artists can channel superhero inspiration through colorful, imaginative projects in a weeklong youth camp. Summer Day Camp: Mini Popstars

Young performers can sing and dance at a pop-themed day camp at Gasper's School of Dance South Studio. Designed for ages 3 to 9, the program combines creative movement with playful onstage activities. Each day features dancing, arts and crafts, coloring, story time, snack time, and plenty of imaginative fun to build confidence and stage presence. Over the course of the camp, participants rehearse a pop-inspired routine that is performed for parents and caregivers on the final day. No prior experience is required.

River Paddling Excursion: History on the Red River

Set out from Hjemkomst Landing for a relaxed group paddle that pairs basic paddling instruction with stories about downtown Moorhead’s past. A local expert from the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County leads the excursion, sharing insights into the Red River and the community that grew along its banks. Check in and equipment pickup take place before instruction begins, then the group heads onto the water at an easy pace. Pre-registration is required, and capacity is limited to 20 vessels per excursion. The fee is $10 per person when bringing your own vessel or $15 per person for a rental, and rentals are first come, first served. Refunds are available with notification two business days in advance. If weather disrupts paddling, backup dates are scheduled for the following week. When river conditions do not allow for boats, the experience becomes a hike instead. Additional River Paddling Excursions this year include a social paddle, wildlife and habitat themes with Red River Zoo, tree-focused outings with Fargo Park District, an exploration led by River Keepers, a gentle mind session with CJM Yoga, and birding with Audubon Great Plains.

Rock and roll icon David Lee Roth brings a high energy concert to Bluestem Amphitheater with special guest Eagles of Death Metal as part of Essentia Health’s Concert Series. Known as the voice of Van Halen, he helped define an era with hits like Jump, Panama, Hot for Teacher, and Runnin’ with the Devil, and his solo career continued that momentum with showmanship and unmistakable vocals. Summer Day Camp: Wiggles & Wags

At Gasper's School of Dance South Studio, campers spend three playful days exploring puppy-themed movement through dance classes, creative activities, and plenty of imaginative games. Each day includes creative movement, arts and crafts, coloring, story time, and a snack break, all building toward a sweet routine to share with family on the final day. Instruction is led by Ms. Laura, a Hawley Public School teacher and Gasper's dance instructor. Registration covers all three days of camp. A light snack such as fruit snacks, animal cookies, crackers, or a similar option is provided, and families of campers with dietary restrictions can send an appropriate snack and inform the staff. Campers receive a Gasper’s water bottle at their first camp while supplies last. Pricing is $120 for a single week, with each additional camp at $100. When two or more siblings enroll, the cost is $100 per child.

Dance Camp: Puppy Pals

Young dancers who love puppies can explore movement, creativity, and stories at Gasper’s South Fargo Studio. Designed for ages 3 to 9, this beginner-friendly camp starts with an energetic warmup followed by a simple dance class set to upbeat music. Participants will pause to make a puppy-themed craft to take home and enjoy a story about favorite four-legged friends. Toward the end, parents are welcome to come into the studio for a short showcase as the Puppy Pals share what they learned. Comfortable dancewear or athletic clothing is recommended, and puppy-themed shirts or colors are a fun choice. No prior dance experience is needed. Space is limited.

River Paddling Excursion: Animals and Habitats of the Red River

Explore the Red River’s wildlife and habitats on a relaxed group paddle led by Red River Zoo. Set out from Hjemkomst Landing and look for animals and the signs they leave behind while learning how the river provides food, water, and shelter. Check in and secure any needed equipment before a brief paddling basics overview, then head onto the water with guidance from an experienced leader. Pre-registration is required. Participation is limited to 20 vessels per excursion. The fee is $10 per person when bringing your own vessel or $15 per person with a rental, and rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Refunds are available with notice at least two business days before the excursion. If river conditions prevent paddling, the outing will shift to a hike and backup dates are planned for the following week. Updates will be posted on the event page. Fairways for Freedom - Folds of Honor Golf Tournament

Lesering Book Club - The Saga of Gösta Berling By Selma Lagerlöfr

The Lesering Book Club focuses on The Saga of Gösta Berling by Selma Lagerlöf, a landmark Swedish epic from the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Recently offered in the first new English translation in more than a century, the novel takes place in 1820s Sweden and follows a former minister whose drinking and past mistakes end his vocation. He finds refuge at Ekeby, the ironworks estate of Margareta Celsing, the Majoress, home to colorful veterans of the Napoleonic Wars. His rebellious, lyrical spirit captivates several women as intrigue unfolds at the estate against the wintry backdrop of rural Sweden. The story also inspired a 1924 silent film that helped launch Greta Garbo’s career.

Nerf Wars for Youth

Foam darts, quick teamwork, and friendly competition set the tone for a youth Nerf showdown at Metro Rec Center. Each date features three sessions tailored for players in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd through 6th grade. There is plenty of room to duck for cover, coordinate with teammates, and enjoy a well-earned victory. Each session is $19, and registration is handled individually for each date. Participants may bring one Nerf blaster that is not battery powered, or use the equipment available on site. Foam darts and protective eyewear are provided by Fargo Parks, and outside darts are not allowed. Space is limited.

History Thursdays - Shang Stanton's Revolver - The Gun that Made Moorhead

History Thursdays is a monthly series on the third Thursday that highlights different parts of Clay County history. The July edition features Collections Manager Lisa Vedaa sharing and discussing Shang Stanton's pistol, with context on the 1872 shootout that set in motion the creation of Moorhead and the establishment of Clay County's government. Admission is free to the public. Presented in collaboration with HCSCC, Moorhead Senior Center, and Moorhead Parks & Rec.

Casino Night

Enjoy casino favorites with games including blackjack, roulette, and casino war. Look for prizes along with giveaways, special-priced drinks, and complimentary parking. Guests 17 and younger receive free admission. Live music will feature Gina Powers.

The camp builds toward a playful jungle themed mini performance for families on the final day. Enrollment includes all three days. A light snack such as fruit snacks, animal cookies, or crackers is provided, and families with dietary needs may send an appropriate alternative and share those details with the camp. Each camper receives a Gasper's water bottle on the first day of their first camp while supplies last.

Beauty Bootcamp - Middle and High School

Explore makeup, hair, nails, and skincare during a three day, in person day camp at The Salon Professional Academy Fargo Beauty & Massage School. Designed for students in grades 7 through 12, the program combines demonstrations with plenty of hands-on practice led by experienced instructors. Participants learn beauty techniques, nail care fundamentals, skincare routines, and hairstyling tips while building confidence and creative skills. Lunch is provided each day, and attendees receive swag.

River Paddling Excursion: Discover the Red River

Set out on a relaxed group paddle of the Red River with River Keepers, guided by a knowledgeable local who shares insights into the river’s past, its natural characteristics, everyday uses, and the wildlife that depends on it. The outing begins at Hjemkomst Landing. Participants check in, receive any needed equipment, and start with a brief overview of paddling fundamentals before heading out together. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 20 vessels. The fee is $10 per person if you bring your own vessel or $15 per person with a rental, and rentals are available on a first come, first served basis. To receive a refund, notification is required two business days in advance. If weather postpones paddling, the backup is the following week. If the river is not an option, the plan shifts to a hike, with updates shared on the Facebook event page. This excursion is part of a season-long series with themes that include social paddles, local history, wildlife and habitats, trees along the river, mindful movement on the water, and birds, led by partners such as Midwest Outdoors, the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, Red River Zoo, Fargo Park District, CJM Yoga, and Audubon Great Plains.

Macarons | Strawberry Cardamom

Celebrate winter with a baking class focused on French macarons. You can expect to learn techniques for creating delicate, crisp shells with a tender interior. The macarons will be paired with a delicious strawberry cardamom filling. This class provides step-by-step instruction in mixing, piping, baking, and assembling macarons, along with tips for troubleshooting common challenges. Each participant will leave with beautifully crafted macarons. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and provides both technical skills and a break from the winter blues.
