ReActivate Scuba Refresher Program-Pool

Refresh scuba skills in a pool setting with the PADI ReActivate program at Lake Norman Scuba. Review key concepts on a phone, tablet, or computer at your own pace, then head into the water with a PADI Professional to practice essential techniques. This streamlined update helps certified divers get back up to speed, prepare for a forthcoming PADI course, or get ready for a dive trip. Completing both the knowledge review and the in-water session results in a replacement certification card showing a ReActivated date. Group Biofield Sound Healing with Michelle Love

Experience a group Biofield Tuning and sound immersion guided by Master Biofield Tuning Practitioner Michelle Love. This vibrational approach is intended to relax and help reset the nervous system. Using tuning forks within the body’s electromagnetic field, the session focuses on locating areas of stagnant energy and guiding them toward the central channel for integration. The work is based on the idea that thoughts, perceptions, and adaptations shape the electrical terrain of the body, leaving discernible imprints that can be felt and addressed. These energetic pockets may relate to repressed emotions from trauma or other significant life events, including patterns that echo through the ancestral line. Many physical, mental, and emotional challenges can be perceived as noise in the energy field, and the session aims to shift that noise into a calmer, more coherent state. Participants often report a noticeable boost in vitality and a deeper sense of alignment. Participants may sit or lie down during the session. Comfortable clothing is recommended, and arriving well hydrated is encouraged. Please bring a bottle of water, a mat or blanket, and any additional props that support comfort. Cost is $33.

Held in Rhythm; A Somatic Sound Experience with Heidi Kemler

Settle into a somatic sound experience with Heidi Kemler that prioritizes nervous system balance, deep rest, and gentle release. A steady, low-frequency pulse from the hand drum creates a foundation of stability while crystal singing bowls add long, resonant tones that invite the body to soften. Nothing needs to be figured out or achieved. The consistent sound offers a dependable anchor, allowing the system to unwind as the background effort of the day eases and tension naturally loosens. This is not about intensity or performance, but about creating conditions where the body can reorganize on its own. Many notice a distinct drop into deeper calm, as if something finally had permission to let go. People often leave with a grounded, clear sense of ease that feels steady and supported from within.

Actually

When every story has more than one side, questions of trust and truth rise to the surface. This two-actor drama by Anna Ziegler examines the charged terrain of sexual consent, race, and gender through the intertwined accounts of Amber and Tom, Princeton freshmen whose lives are upended after a night that may not have been consensual. Told in a clear, confrontational style that places both perspectives in sharp relief, it invites reflection and conversation. Recognized as a Critic’s Pick by New York Magazine and Time Out New York, the production is directed by Amy Wada and features Dionte Darko and Luna Mackie. Recommended for ages 17 and up due to adult content and candid discussion of sexual assault. Run time is 90 minutes with no intermission.

Dark Romance/Fantasy Author Popup: Rebecca Kenney

A dark romance and fantasy author popup at Fred & June's Books spotlights Rebecca Kenney and Cruel Angel, the finale of her Gilded Monsters series. This reimagining of The Phantom of the Opera blends obsessive devotion, a charged connection between Christine Daaé, Raoul, and the enigmatic Phantom, and a looming supernatural threat. As Christine wrestles with crippling stage fright and is guided into the spotlight by a secretive mentor, her renewed bond with a long-time friend complicates a dangerous bargain that weaves together light and shadow, gentleness and fierce desire. The event centers on a New Adult, spice-forward retelling with a touch of magic. Kenney writes spicy fantasy and paranormal romance as well as retellings, including earlier Gilded Monsters installments inspired by The Great Gatsby and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Children's Author Popup

This children’s author popup spotlights Jenna Martin, creator of The Milo Way, an approach that blends storytelling with simple emotional tools to help kids name their feelings, build resilience, and better understand their inner world. Central to her work is the story of Milo, a cartwheeling sea star whose encounter with a bully and a powerful storm leaves him injured and far from home, leading him to realize that what sets him apart can be his strength. Drawing on early training in child and family psychology and her experience as a meditation teacher, Jenna turns behavioral science and personal practice into kid friendly resources through books, workshops, and a Power Cards deck. CHAOS Charlotte Guaranteed Payout 5 Year Anniversary

Hosted at Christ the King Catholic High School, this fifth anniversary tournament continues a tradition of guaranteed prize money made possible by a family that supports the program and helps attract strong competition. Men’s, Women’s, and RevCo divisions award first place guarantees when a division has at least four teams, with Open at $1,200, AA at $800, A at $500, and BB at $300. Larger fields can increase the payouts. Play features Men’s and Women’s doubles and RevCo competition. Registration is $35 per player for Open and $25 per player for AA, A, and BB, and payment is cash only with no Venmo accepted. Late check-in results in a $5 fee, and missing the first match leads to a forfeit. Pools will not be adjusted for late arrivals. A short grace period applies between matches, then forfeits take effect. Players must remain to officiate when assigned, with a $10 fee at the next event if they leave early. No-shows or last minute withdrawals also incur a $10 fee at a future event. There are no refunds if someone is asked to leave. Please help keep the venue clean, with trash bags available. Divisions may be combined based on turnout. To uphold division integrity, directors may move or disqualify teams for sandbagging without refund. Teams may be allowed to complete pool play but be held out of playoffs. These decisions are subjective and at the directors’ discretion, considering factors such as team skill, the strength of the field, consistent results, injuries, playing with juniors or new partners, and the level and quality of other tournaments entered. Rulings are final. The BB bracket is for true beginners, with no hand setting or jump serving permitted. Players with club, indoor, or beach experience should choose a higher division. Competition uses the Wilson OPTX ball. Teams on the waitlist must be cleared in advance to participate, with acceptance dependent on space, available nets, and overall event flow.
