Mosaic Rock Class with Dione

Learn how to create a decorative mosaic on a river rock in this hands-on class. Bring a clean, dry river rock with a relatively flat side suited for a design about 6 by 6 inches, and please avoid sandstone. Choose from a variety of patterns, add ball chain accents, and use a mosaic cutter to nip glass pieces to complete your design. Grouting will be demonstrated so you can finish that step at home. All glass, glue, grout, and pattern designs are provided, and tools are available for use during class. Please bring safety glasses and wear clothing that can handle a bit of glue. If you have any fun broken china, it may be possible to add that too. Cost is $50 per person, with 10 spots available.

Quill Magic: Creative Writing Dice Workshop

Draft a complete short story in a single hour with the help of story dice, gentle structure, and a warm, cozy setting. This workshop is designed for writers at every level, including those who do not write often, and it aims to send you off with a full draft to revise later along with the momentum that comes from writing alongside others. The group will roll dice to establish a shared world by setting the time, place, theme, conflict, and point of view. Each participant then rolls four character-dimension dice, ensuring every story takes a unique path. The session features two guided writing sprints, followed by an optional, low-pressure share of a final line or a favorite paragraph. Each piece will also include a small signature detail revealed during the session so every story carries a common Quill thread. Writers who wish to pursue publication can choose to submit their piece afterward for consideration in a future Quill anthology. The festival coincides with battlefield focused activities that same weekend. Its aim is to uplift Native pride and promote accurate cultural and historical education about this crucial moment in shared history and the ongoing resilience of the Allied Tribes. Dress the part with saloon finery or cowboy gear, leave the spurs at home, and enjoy dinner and drinks while you hunt for clues, trade suspicions, and work to solve the crime. Spirit of Freedom Field of 1000 American Flags

The Par 3 Golf Course driving range in Billings becomes the Spirit of Freedom Field of 1,000 American Flags, presented by the Breakfast Exchange Club of Billings in partnership with the National Exchange Club as part of a nationwide initiative marking 250 years of American independence. Visitors can walk among a vast display of American flags, reflect on the nation’s story, and honor the people who safeguard its ideals, including veterans, active-duty personnel, first responders, community leaders, and everyday heroes. Admission is free, and voluntary donations support the Breakfast Exchange Club’s grants to local nonprofits and its work in Americanism, youth programs, community service, and the National Exchange Club’s project focused on preventing child abuse. Flags may be sponsored in honor or in memory of someone who has served the country or community, with each tribute recognized by a personalized laminated tag displayed throughout the event. At the conclusion, sponsors may take their dedicated flag home as a keepsake. Plans include a patriotic ceremony with local officials, community gatherings, and recognition of veterans, reflecting the America 250 values of freedom, family, service, and pride. The driving range remains open during the display, with flags positioned near the clubhouse and tee boxes moved forward. The Wall That Heals

The Wall That Heals, a traveling three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial accompanied by a mobile Education Center, will be on display at Will James Middle School in Billings. This free, public exhibit brings the memorial’s healing legacy to the community as part of a nationwide tour that visits roughly three dozen cities each year. The visit is presented with support from American Legion Post 119, Hoodies for Heroes, Veterans Navigation Network, and Will James Middle School. Plans include an escorted arrival led by American Legion Riders Post 119, volunteer-led assembly and takedown, scheduled group tours, an opening ceremony, and a candlelight vigil honoring those affected by Agent Orange.

It launches the summer season in the heart of the city’s urban core, where more than 120 merchants line the streets with a broad mix of arts and crafts, the aromas and flavors of food trucks serving everything from French crepes and noodle bowls to barbecue, and lively street entertainment. At Moss Mansion, the museum and grounds transform into Camp Half-Blood for a week of adventures inspired by Percy Jackson. Young heroes spend the session training for quests and exploring Greek mythology. Agility challenges, brain-teasing puzzles, creative crafts, scavenger hunts, and games help build skills for the journey ahead. This program is designed for kids ages 10 to 14. Three bracelet tournaments lead the action, featuring the Big O State Championship, the Montana Monster Stack, and the M.S.O.P. Main Event, along with a Series Saver plaque event to cap the series. The Big O State Championship is an 8 max No Limit five card Omaha eight or better event with a 375 dollar buy in, a 40,000 chip starting stack, 30 minute levels, and re entry plus late entry available through nine levels and the dinner break. Players may enter up to five times. North Fork Crossing

North Fork Crossing brings a modern bluegrass sound to the Pub Station Taproom, weaving timeless fiddle tunes and ballads with jamgrass-style improvisation and bursts of energy. Founded in 2021 after a renewed friendship at Montana Fiddle Camp, the Bozeman-based five piece has been making its mark around the West. The band features Cade Slayden on guitar, Ryan Kelly on mandolin, Rabi Phelan on upright bass, Silas Rea on fiddle, and Matt Hickey on banjo. Their self-titled debut, released in 2024, showcases material from their early days, including original fiddle tunes, fast exploratory bluegrass, and carefully crafted ballads.
