Ground Zero Blues Club BiloxiThe Mushroom Brotherhood
Led by Hammond B3 organist and pianist Wayne Sharp, The Mushroom Brotherhood offers a richly detailed celebration of The Allman Brothers Band. The production aims to place audiences inside a classic-era concert with era-true visuals, lighting, period gear, and seasoned players. Sharp’s connection to this music runs deep. He grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, spending long nights onstage with Jaimoe and Lamar Williams, who would go on to play with The Allman Brothers Band. Around that time, encouraged by songwriter Jackie Avery, Jaimoe met Duane Allman and the band’s story began. Sharp later lived in Macon, Georgia next door to the group, sharing music and forging lifelong bonds. After Berry Oakley’s passing, Lamar joined the band. When the group disbanded in 1980, Sharp invited Jaimoe and Lamar to California for his original project, The SharpShooter Band, which continued until Lamar’s death in 1983. In the years that followed, Sharp performed with Elvin Bishop and launched an early tribute, The Allmost Brothers, a concept suggested by Gregg Allman while Sharp was recording and producing him in Los Angeles. That group made a special appearance at GABBA Fest and was well received. Sharp then spent more than a decade with Alligator Records artist Michael Burks, appearing on four albums and earning two Blues Music Awards. After the losses of Burks, Butch Trucks, and Gregg Allman, he revived Gregg’s idea and created The Mushroom Brotherhood. Jaimoe has voiced strong support for the project and praised how closely Sharp carries the band’s spirit. This tribute honors the legacy, camaraderie, and joy at the heart of The Allman Brothers Band, reigniting the look, the sound, and the unmistakable atmosphere of their stage presence. The road goes on, and the brotherhood continues.

Hard Rock CafeHand Building Night Class
Shape clay by hand in an eight week night class that builds a strong foundation in ceramics. Learn core techniques like pinching, coiling, and working with slabs while creating both functional pieces and expressive sculptures. Instruction includes surface and finishing options such as cone 6 oxidation and cone 10 reduction glazes, along with stains and underglazes, to help bring each project to completion. Participants receive 25 pounds of clay, access to open studio time during operating hours, use of studio cone 6 and cone 10 glazes, and firing in one of the studio’s three kilns. Taught by Jean Benoit, this class is for adults ages 18 and up. Refunds minus credit card fees are available until seven days before the first session. After that window, fees are non-refundable, though tickets may be transferred to a friend.
Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art6 Week Adult Handbuilding Pottery Class
Learn the art of handbuilding in a six-week pottery course that balances solid technique with room for personal style. Each session builds on the last as you turn clay into both functional and decorative pieces. Instruction covers pinch pot forming, coil and slab construction, surface decoration and texturing methods, and the application of underglazes and glazes. Projects are designed to develop technical skills while encouraging exploration, and the course is welcoming to beginners as well as those with prior experience. The aim is to guide participants through multiple projects and help them gain the confidence to continue creating independently. Attendance is important since the curriculum progresses week to week and makeup classes are not offered. Depending on complexity and pace, some pieces may take longer than the six sessions. Work can be continued afterward during Open Studio hours for an additional fee, and those not planning to use Open Studio are encouraged to coordinate with the instructor so project timelines can be adjusted. Because clay is unpredictable during drying, firing, glazing, and handling, occasional cracking, warping, or breakage may occur. The Cozy Kiln is not responsible for pieces that are damaged in the process, and instructors will share best practices to help minimize risks. Early registration is $250 per person, and regular registration is $285 per person.

This six-week handbuilding pottery course develops strong fundamentals while encouraging personal style. Participants explore core techniques including pinch pots, coil and slab construction, surface decoration and texturing, and the application of underglazes and glazes. Each week builds on the last so students turn clay into both functional and decorative pieces, complete multiple projects, and gain the confidence to continue creating independently. The class is suitable for beginners and for those with prior experience. Because lessons progress from week to week, makeup classes are not offered and missing a session may affect the ability to finish projects on schedule. Some work may extend beyond the six-week timeline; unfinished pieces can be continued during Open Studio hours for the standard fee. Students who do not plan to use Open Studio should coordinate with their instructor so project plans can be adjusted. Completion of the course is required to use Open Studio hours. Early registration is $250 per person and regular registration is $285 per person. Pottery involves natural variability, and cracking, warping, or breakage may occur during drying, firing, glazing, or handling. The Cozy Kiln is not responsible for such outcomes, and guidance is provided to help minimize risks and achieve the best possible results.

Biloxi Bash 2026
Biloxi Bash 2026 brings ski riders together on Deer Island for three days of riding, each with a unique route and destination that can be adjusted based on weather. Neighboring Gulf Coast groups come together for a true rally atmosphere. The first day departs from the western tip of Deer Island in Biloxi and cruises through Fort Bayou, pauses for lunch at The Shed BBQ, then returns along the same path. The second day sets a course about 12 miles offshore to Ship Island to explore Fort Massachusetts, followed by a short hop to a stretch known as shell beach that is popular for finding shells. Food is limited to a small concession near the fort, so packing a lunch is recommended. The third day explores Back Bay Biloxi with the potential to stop at places like Grasshopper Island, Cricket Island, Bacchus restaurant and bar, Captain Al’s restaurant and bar, and Oranatang’s Prop Stop bar. Only some stops will be included, and a few locations have limited space. Bacchus is noted as a convenient lunch option. Participants choose their own launch ramp. Lodging is up to each attendee, with nearby choices that include vacation rentals, campgrounds, and hotels. Daily mileage is planned at 60 or less, so additional fuel is typically unnecessary unless a ski has higher consumption, and the offshore segment is especially sensitive to conditions, which may prompt rearranging the order of rides.

Date Night Wheel
Settle in for a creative date night on the pottery wheel, inspired by George Ohr, the Mad Potter of Biloxi. Held at the Biloxi Center for Ceramics, this relaxed session gives couples hands-on time at the wheel while instructors teach the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Together you will shape two ceramic pieces to keep. After class, staff will glaze and fire your work so it is ready for pickup in about two weeks, and shipping is available for those traveling from out of town for an additional fee. The experience is beginner friendly and open to ages 18 and up. Wear clothing you do not mind getting a little messy and focus on making something memorable. Capacity is limited to 10 students per session. The cost is $48 per person, with tickets sold individually rather than per couple. Refunds minus the credit card fee are available up to seven days before the class begins. After that period the fee is nonrefundable, though tickets may be transferred to a friend.
