Paint Your Pet Workshop

Create a personalized portrait of your animal companion in a guided painting session led by artist and instructor Finn Erickson. Before class, email a clear photo of your pet to SMAC at info@smac-art.org at least 24 hours in advance. Finn will enlarge your image and transfer the outline onto an 8 by 10 inch canvas so you can focus on painting right away. Limit one animal per canvas, and bringing a printed reference photo is encouraged. With the outline prepared, beginners can paint with confidence, and those with more experience will find plenty of room to refine technique and express their own style, resulting in a unique finished piece. The fee is 40 dollars and includes all instruction and supplies. SMAC members receive a 5 dollar discount on ticketed classes. Thanks to support from the Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister residents are eligible for 50 percent off ticketed classes. To claim the resident discount, provide a full residential address at checkout and enter a Hollister zip code in the coupon field. SMAC may revoke the discount if residency cannot be verified, and the offer is not transferable. Registration is available online. Finn Erickson’s work explores connections between people and the natural world, identity, and lived experience, informed by mythology, psychology, and everyday moments. Their current focus is acrylic painting, and they also enjoy traditional and digital illustration while exploring a range of other techniques.
