Summer Track Non-Competition Team K-3rd GRADES
Explore track in a relaxed setting with no competition and no prior experience required. This welcoming program helps kids learn the core skills of jumping, throwing, and running in a low-pressure environment. Participants build confidence as they practice the basics and discover what they enjoy most about the sport.
PLANT SWAP! - Summer Reading
Swap your plants for new green companions at the Lisbon Library. Bring plants to place on the swap table, and use the provided labels so each plant is clearly marked. A small selection will be available to kick things off, including the ones that have been filling up the circulation desk. The swap also launches the Adults and Teens Summer Reading Program, and attendees can register at the circulation desk to receive a raffle ticket. All plants should find new homes by the end of the event.
Lisbon Public LibraryThis Summer – Make Art with ArtVan
The Lewiston Public Library partners with ArtVan for creative sessions in Callahan Hall designed for children ages 5 to 14. Young artists can explore a range of materials through hands-on projects that spark self-expression, personal growth, and plenty of fun. ArtVan is a mobile art program that began in 2004 and offers therapeutic, strengths-based experiences in under-resourced neighborhoods, helping youth connect with others, cut down on screen time, ease stress, and express difficult emotions. Children ages 5 to 8 must attend with an adult. The program is free and open to the public, no registration is needed, and all supplies are provided.
Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public LibraryNorthern Stars Planetarium: Exploring the Solar System
Northern Stars Planetarium presents an immersive astronomy program in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library for children ages 6 to 12, with siblings welcome. Inside an inflatable planetarium dome, participants will explore the solar system, seeing planets and dwarf planets as they appear in the night sky and as captured by space probes. Constellations will be identified throughout the show. Registration is required and space is limited to 45 participants. If the program fills, a waiting list is available through the Children’s Department. Participation also counts toward the library’s Summer Reading program, so remember to record it on your bookmark.
