June Love Bus Vaccination Clinic

This vaccination clinic at the Alliance Event Venue offers quick, easy, and affordable care for pets. Services include a 1-year rabies vaccine for $20 per pet, free DAPPV vaccines, free 1-HCP vaccines, microchips for $10 per pet available to all residents, and digital ID tags that are free, with a $5 fee for out-of-county residents. Payment is cash only and no appointments are required, as walk-ins are welcome. High interest is expected and wait times are possible, and patience is appreciated while everyone is assisted. There is a thank you to the veterinarians who make these clinics possible and to the Alliance Event Venue for providing the space. The focus is on helping pets stay protected, healthy, and safe.

Big Catfish Tournament

A four-day catfish tournament brings fresh stocking, tagged-fish rewards, and running leaderboards. Ahead of the start, the lake will briefly close so new fish can be added and given time to settle. Approximately 1,200 pounds of channel catfish plus 600 pounds each of flathead and blue catfish will be stocked, with all introduced flatheads and blues at 10 pounds or more. Flathead and blue catfish must be released after measuring and weighing. More than 100 fish will be tagged before stocking, and tag colors correspond to specific prizes that can include cash, time passes, tackle boxes, rod and reel combos, apparel, gift cards, and other items. Ten tagged fish pay $100 each and four pay $250 each. Additional tags award $20 for certain smallest and biggest fish, with many other prizes also in the mix. Two albino catfish will be tagged to add an extra $100 cash reward for anglers entered in the optional daily albino pot, and the daily albino jackpot continues at half the pot for those who participate. Hourly drawings throughout the weekend will hand out passes and merchandise. Daily entry options are available for 4 hours at $20.00, 8 hours at $32.00, or 12 hours at $40.00, with no catch limit per pass. Only catfish count for standings. Three running categories span the entire event: largest single fish, total weight, and total number of catfish caught. Overall awards are $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third. Tag prizes are paid out daily, and overall results are finalized when the tournament concludes. All fish must be alive at checkout for verification, and all tags must be validated. A two-person team component is planned for the final day with a two-pole limit per pass alongside individual fishing. Teams compete for most total weight and largest single fish, with cash payouts that night. Team weights are divided in half and added to each angler’s individual weekend totals, and the team’s longest fish is split in length and credited to each angler’s personal tally. On-site amenities include a bait shop with bait, tackle, snacks, and firewood. Canopies and lakeside campfires are welcome.

This hip hop dance camp is designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and focuses on creativity and self-expression through movement. No prior dance experience is needed, so beginners and seasoned dancers can take part together. Participants build confidence, learn hip hop fundamentals, and make new friends in a supportive setting. The cost is $50. Dance Elite studio is dedicated to nurturing young talent in the arts.

2026 Hills/Taco Bell Spring Bash Cruise Night

Round one of the 2026 season kicks off with a cruise night in the Rual King parking lot, featuring a live DJ and plenty of space for cars and bikes. This family-friendly gathering celebrates the classic Kokomo strip, tracing the route from Hills to Taco Bell for a dose of nostalgia. A pre-cruise is planned at DMW Graphics in Kokomo before moving on to Hills. Food truck and hot dog stand vendors interested in participating can reach out ahead of time to arrange setup. This orientation and training for the Kokomo Humane Society's canine playgroups prepares volunteers to support shelter dogs with safe socialization, exercise, and enrichment. It is intended for participants ages 16 and older. Volunteers should be comfortable handling and walking dogs of various sizes and be available to help on weekdays. Please wear clothing that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. The session focuses on practical skills that help create healthier, happier dogs through structured play and positive interaction.

Intro to: Marbles 101

Explore the art of marble making in a participatory class that introduces the essentials of glass torchwork. Students will craft a single marble and practice creating patterns by twisting ribbons of glass together. The class is open to ages 12 and up. Anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian, and an accompanying adult who helps but does not make a marble is not required to pay. Space is limited to four students. Day 1 of this princess and dragon themed clay camp invites young artists to build their own castle from clay, adding towers, textures, doors, and windows, then sculpt a guardian dragon to watch over it. Each participant will also spend time on the pottery wheel to create part of the castle, a friendly introduction to wheel throwing in a supportive setting. After building, campers will add colorful glazes and the pieces will be fired in the kiln. No prior experience is required and all supplies are included. Finished work will be ready for pickup in about three weeks. The camp is designed for ages 6 to 10. Cost is $49 per child. Costumes are welcome, whether a princess, knight, dragon rider, or other royal adventurer.

Designed for ages 11 to 17, this hands-on clay camp gives teens a genuine studio experience with time at the pottery wheel and at the worktable. Participants will build a custom plate by hand and throw a bowl on the wheel, then personalize each piece with textures, patterns, and glaze. Instruction covers essential clay-building methods along with glazing and decorative finishing, and no prior experience is required. All materials and kiln firing are provided. Howard County's 250th Celebration!

Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with a community celebration at Howard County 4 H Fairgrounds. Festivities at the Pioneer Village include a Village Market hosted by the Greentown Farmers & Artisans Market, featuring booths that span styles from the 1800s to modern day. Food trucks will have options available for purchase, along with music, historical reenactments, and other entertainment throughout the event. The evening concludes with a fireworks finale presented by the Greentown Lion's Club. Admission is free for the public, and freewill donations to the Greentown Lion's Club will be accepted at the entrances to the fairgrounds. Support comes from the Greentown Main Street Association, the Greentown Lion's Club, the Howard County Historical Society, the Greentown Historical Society, and many other local organizations and volunteers.

Celebrate July 4th

Baseball and fireworks set the tone for a festive night with the Kokomo Creek Chubs. A custom player jersey will be auctioned during the game, and the evening ends with a fireworks show.

A community ice cream social marks the nation’s 250th birthday with free treats, hands-on activities, local history, and live music. HCHS hosts a family-friendly lineup of make-and-take projects with the General James Cox Chapter of the DAR, Kokomo Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Revival’s Fiber Arts and Gatherings, the Kokomo Art Association, and the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. When signing up, select which event you want to attend or choose both, then indicate your priority. You will be confirmed for that pick and placed on a waitlist for the other if you opted into both. Entry is $30. Every player receives a build and battle kit that comes with a pre-built deck and four packs. Use those packs to build a new deck or modify the one provided, then play three rounds. Intro to Kinusaiga: Fish

Explore Kinusaiga, a Japanese craft that forms textured images by tucking fabric into a base with no sewing required. This beginner-friendly class, taught by Katelyn from The Copper Snail, covers the essentials while participants complete a 4x6 fish design to take home. All materials are provided, and attendees may bring their own thin fabric scraps to personalize their piece. Framing is not included and will need to be done afterward. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. The class is open to ages 16 and up, and minors must have adult supervision; if the supervising adult is not making a project, there is no fee for them. SHAK members pay $30 and non-members pay $35. Closed-toe shoes are required. Participants may bring a snack or non-alcoholic drink, or visit Lexis’ next door. For safety, everyone must be able to follow instructions throughout the session, and anyone who does not follow safety guidelines may be asked to leave SHAK without a refund. Hippies and Cowboys headline a free, all ages concert at the Kokomo Performing Arts Pavilion at Foster Park with Velvet Daydream and The Revelry. Local beer, additional adult beverages, food, and vendors will be available on site. The Nashville-based group delivers a gritty blend of Southern rock, soul, blues, and rock and roll with a modern spark, drawing on the spirit of artists like The Black Crowes, the Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, Marcus King, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Otis Redding, the Rolling Stones, and Tom Petty. Early recordings were cut at FAME Studios, Muscle Shoals Sound, and East Avalon, followed by a live album, an EP titled "Fork in the Road," and plans for a live double album and concert film. Their road-tested résumé includes a long-running role as the house band at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk on Broadway in Nashville, major festival appearances at Pilgrimage Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Revival, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, WEFest, and FloydFest, and support slots with Foreigner, Goo Goo Dolls, Tesla, Blackberry Smoke, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Bon Jovi at the opening of his Nashville venue. Their track "Rock All Nite" earned a national sync through Dana White’s Power Slap, and features in Rolling Stone, People Magazine, and Paste Magazine have helped propel their growing reach.

Take part in the second annual ride to end Alzheimer’s with a route that visits nursing homes in Kokomo, continues to Logansport with additional stops at assisted living and nursing facilities, then returns to Paradigm Health. Motorcycles, cars, and trucks are all welcome. The cost is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger. After returning, a free lunch will be provided at Paradigm Health along with raffle items. The Rusty Market & Barn Tour

Explore a mapped route through the Kokomo and Howard County countryside that highlights three distinctive barns filled with antiques, primitives, repurposed pieces, handcrafted items and more. The Rusty Windmill showcases scrap metal yard décor that ranges from flowers and planters to plasma-cut art, with an especially extensive selection of flowers at this stop. Local makers are featured, including Manda Steele Creations with wire-wrapped jewelry, Rabbit Run Crafts with crochet critters and candles, and Franklin ClayWorks with functional ceramic art such as cups and mugs. As time allows, on site reimagining of family heirloom pieces is available at a rate of $2.00 per minute plus $10 per item for power washing and a clear coat. The tour also includes 450 Mercantile, which focuses on high quality primitives, furniture, smalls and vintage home décor, and Found Vintage, known for vintage finds, antiques, repurposed furniture, garden décor, old prints and houseplants. Together these stops offer a varied look at rustic style, vintage treasures and creative craftsmanship along one countryside route.

An open show featuring Halter, Showmanship, English, Western, and Ranch classes, with opportunities for participants to combine disciplines. Forest Narratives Reception and Artist talk

Associate Professor Minda Douglas presents a guest talk that explores the science informing her Forest Narratives project at Kresge Auditorium on the IU Kokomo campus.
