Thursdays are for Riding

The weekly bike ride known as Thursdays are for Riding is back with routes around Elgin and possibly nearby areas. It leans a bit more toward adults, since a stop at a local watering hole or beer garden may be part of the outing. This is a community ride where everyone is welcome, but expect a quicker pace than other social rides, including the full moon ride. Please complete the waiver, which only needs to be submitted once per year, and ride safely.

Art Clash 2026!

The 2026 edition of Art Clash returns with the Fox Valley’s biggest live painting showdown, where the crowd decides who advances. In each clash, audience members select two favorites to move forward, leading to a City Final that brings together eight standout artists. A refreshed format debuts this year. After each preliminary round, a portion of the field is trimmed based on vote totals, with the number of eliminations tied to how many artists are competing. Second round cuts are based on combined votes from both preliminary rounds. When the final round begins, previous points reset, and anyone still painting can take the win. Cash prizes are awarded. All painting essentials, including paint, canvases, cleaning supplies, and easels, are supplied by Side Street Studio Arts and must be used. Additional mark making tools such as markers may be allowed if they are provided by Side Street Studio Arts, and requests can be made in advance, though specific items cannot be guaranteed since painting is the focus. Artists may bring their own brushes, but no other equipment, tools, or supplies are permitted. Earlier clashes featured themes like Love and Hate, Timelapse, Illusion, and Verdant, and the City Final will feature themes chosen by a spin of the wheel that evening. This program follows a pay what you can model. An $18 contribution reflects the true cost, though giving more or less is welcome and helps keep the experience accessible for everyone. Artists do not pay to compete. Tickets and registration to paint are available through the event listing.

First and second place receive cash prizes, with many additional awards such as gift cards, memberships, and passes for other finishers. Spectators are welcome at no cost, and only the turtles will be in the water. Turtles may be adopted online in advance or on site, and prize recipients do not need to be present to win. The performance spans hits and deep tracks from the first six albums and weaves in skits and quips inspired by live bootlegs from 1978 to 1984. After filling venues across multiple states and being tapped for international tours in Canada and Australia, the band is recognized as an emerging Van Halen tribute, delivering a show driven by youth, nostalgia, and rock and roll.

ZEBRA: IN CELEBRATION OF 50 YEARS with SPECIAL GUESTS DONNIE VIE (FROM ENUFF Z’NUFF)

Zebra brings together Randy Jackson, Felix Hanemann, and Guy Gelso, a trio that took its name from a 1926 Vogue magazine cover and went on to build a loyal following across the South and East Coast. Their self-titled 1982 debut went gold and became the fastest selling debut in Atlantic Records history, fueled by radio and MTV airplay for Tell Me What You Want and Who’s Behind the Door. On stage they are known for shows that run over two hours, featuring signature songs like Who’s Behind the Door, Tell Me What You Want, Wait Until the Summer’s Gone, Bears, and One More Chance, with the occasional Led Zeppelin cover. Donnie Vie of Enuff Z’Nuff adds his melodic power pop and rock sensibility, continuing to perform under his own name with a catalog of critically praised releases and a Grammy nomination.

FREE Home Buyer Seminar | Buy Like A Pro

Learn the steps to purchase a home at a free seminar hosted at Stoll Real Estate. Every attendee receives up to $2,000 in guaranteed home buyer incentives that can reduce inspection, attorney, and lender costs, plus a commission rebate to help with closing expenses. Light snacks and beverages will be available. Expect a Q&A that explores how to qualify for a mortgage, ways to secure a competitive interest rate, how to determine what you can afford, and available assistance programs, including eligibility for the $12,500 down payment program in Illinois. The discussion also clarifies what points are, how down payments differ from closing costs, how to strengthen your credit, what to consider if partners have different credit profiles, the difference between pre-qualification and pre-approval, and why pre-approval matters. The seminar walks through the buying process, including when to start touring homes, strategies for getting the best price, typical fees, what to expect at closing, and the role of a home inspection. Market insights are covered as well, touching on inventory, how long it may take to find a property, price trends, and how the NAR lawsuit settlement could impact buyers. The session is led by Andrew Stoll, Designated Managing Broker and owner of Stoll Real Estate, a top-producing agent recognized by Chicago Agent Magazine, Top Agent Magazine, and the Real Estate Moguls podcast, with more than 11 years of experience helping first-time buyers and over 200 five-star reviews. QUIET RIOT // VIXEN

A powerhouse concert spotlights Quiet Riot alongside Vixen for a celebration of hard rock history and hits. Quiet Riot, the Los Angeles quartet that became the first heavy metal act to reach number one on Billboard’s pop chart, roared into the mainstream with Metal Health. Arriving when labels considered their hard driving pop metal out of step, the album surged on the strength of their take on Slade’s “Cum on Feel the Noize” and the original anthem “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)”, climbed to the top of the U.S. charts, and earned five times platinum status. The band went on to notch more hits and release over a dozen albums and continues to perform with Rudy Sarzo, Alex Grossi, Jizzy Pearl, and Johnny Kelly. “Cum On Feel The Noize” also became the first heavy metal single to reach Billboard’s top five, and their live show leans into the songs fans know best. Vixen stands as the only all female hard rock band from the 80s to sell more than two million albums worldwide, rack up six number one videos on MTV, and place four songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Founded in St. Paul by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, the band moved to Hollywood and solidified around vocalist Janet Gardner, drummer Roxy Petrucci, and bassist Share Ross. After Kuehnemund’s passing, Gardner, Petrucci, and Ross carried the legacy forward, with guitarist Britt Lightning joining to round out the lineup. The band released the live set Live Fire, captured at the Arcada Theatre, along with the studio track “You Ought To Know By Now”, the final recording with Gardner. Share Ross later took a sabbatical to focus on a growing real estate career, and Brazilian rocker Julia Lage stepped in, bringing arena experience across South America and collaborations with members of The Cars, Extreme, and Sugar Ray. Vixen has since introduced new vocalist Rosa Laricchuita and continues to deliver high energy, top tier performances.

AIR SUPPLY: A MATTER OF TIME TOUR

Air Supply arrives in a milestone moment, packing venues across North America, Australia, South America, Europe and Asia while unveiling A Matter of Time, the duo's first studio album in 15 years. They are also celebrating 50 years together. The new 11 track release showcases Graham Russell's heartfelt writing and the pair's distinctive vocals, and it is set for digital release alongside a special edition 80s style vinyl. Their catalog includes a rare streak of five consecutive Top Five hits, including Lost in Love, All Out of Love, Every Woman in the World, The One That You Love and Here I Am. Early 80s releases such as Lost in Love, The One That You Love, Now & Forever, along with a 1983 Greatest Hits set, sold a combined 20 million copies, and songs like Sweet Dreams and Making Love Out of Nothing At All have earned millions of radio spins. Recent highlights include a sold out night at Carnegie Hall on the exact day they first met as chorus members of the Australian touring company of Jesus Christ Superstar, a biopic now in development, and an impending Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. For the new album, Graham worked with Grammy nominated Canadian producer Brian Howes, known for work with Skillet, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Hedley and Simple Plan, as well as tracks for Daughtry and David Cook. The project came together over two years, shaped by a 130 date annual touring schedule and by recording all vocals at Howes' studio in Courtenay, Canada, on an island off the coast of British Columbia, which required several trips.
