Trivioke (Fundraising Event)

Trivioke brings a lively blend of trivia and karaoke to Pollyanna Brewing Company in St Charles, all in support of Rising Lights Project. Hosted by the Rising Lights Project Associate Board, this fundraising evening mixes team brainteasers with sing-along moments for a spirited night out. Each ticket includes participation in trivia and karaoke, complimentary appetizers, and one complimentary beverage, alcoholic or nonalcoholic. Prizes will be awarded to the top trivia teams. Families are welcome, so kids can enjoy the fun as well. Come ready with sharp trivia skills and favorite songs to celebrate and support a meaningful cause.

In-Person: Joyous Japan

This live, one-hour in-person program at Bartlett Public Library District features Brian Michalski as he revisits a five-week journey across Japan. The presentation follows the path of cherry blossoms by way of the country’s high-speed trains and explores its cuisine, history, and culture. Interactions with local residents and Michalski’s own photographs bring the adventure to life.

Monday Night Trivia @ Midway Sports Bar!

Test your knowledge at a trivia night at Midway Sports Bar. The game features six challenging rounds for teams of up to six players. It is free to enter, with prizes for first and second place plus a bonus awarded midway through the game. Categories include pop culture, sports, entertainment, name that tune, and geography and history. Bring a group of friends and enjoy a drink while you work through each round.

Gua Sha Assisted Massage: 4-hour CE

This four-hour continuing education workshop is designed for licensed massage therapists as well as anyone interested in learning Gua Sha for personal use. It explores how traditional Gua Sha can be integrated with modern massage to boost effectiveness while reducing strain on the practitioner. The session explains the roots of the method, noting that gua refers to gentle scraping and sha describes the temporary redness that can appear as circulation increases. In a massage context the application is typically light, aiming for visible results with little to no bruising, and it is presented as a quick way to ease adhesions and movement restrictions. Participants learn to hold and use tools with efficient body mechanics, practice massage techniques that complement the approach, and discover safe ways to incorporate it into client work and self-care. The format blends lecture, discussion, demonstration, and extensive hands-on practice, with time for observation and questions to build confidence in using the skills right away. Please bring a set of sheets, a bolster, a massage table with a face cradle, a preferred massage medium, and a pen or pencil. Bringing personal Gua Sha tools is optional, as a variety of tools in different materials, sizes, and shapes will be available to borrow. A buffalo horn tool can be purchased for $10 in cash on a first come, first served basis, with no obligation to buy.

Weekly Yoga in South Elgin

A Monte Carlo inspired gala brings together the St. Charles business community for an evening of recognition and celebration. Additional honors will spotlight outstanding businesses and community leaders across multiple categories. Full moon ride - May 2026 -- Rolling out at 9pm 🚲🚲🚲

Pedal under the full moon on a social night ride that meets at Elgin Community Bikes and explores the core neighborhoods of Elgin at a moderate pace. The route covers about 7 to 9 miles and typically takes 60 to 70 minutes. If you need air or small adjustments, arrive a bit early, as equipment for quick fixes will be available beforehand. For night riding, Illinois law requires a white front light and a red rear reflector or red light, so make sure you are easy to see. Riders who have not completed the 2026 annual ride waiver are asked to do so in advance.

Primrose Playgroups

This relaxed playgroup offers a chance for parents to socialize while their little farmer plays. Fliptastic Family Pokémon Pinball Party

A family-focused pinball tournament at Global Brew Tap House in St. Charles celebrates the release of Pokémon by Stern Pinball. Youth and their families can take part, with parents, siblings, grandparents, and other relatives welcome to play. Participation is limited to families of Fliptastic youth only and it is not an open tournament. The format is group matchplay, with as many rounds as possible completed within a two-hour window. Finals are split by age group, with the top four youth and the top four adults competing for their respective titles. Special trophies, raffle prizes, and surprises are planned. Entry is free, with a $1 fee per game. PRPA points will be awarded based on standings prior to the finals, and the emphasis is on giving kids a relaxed chance to play alongside adults with support when needed.

Pressed Floral Art Frames with Tcreativ Designs

Explore pressed flower artistry in an interactive workshop led by Tcreativ Designs at Side Street Studio Arts. Select blooms for their symbolism, arrange them into a meaningful composition, and complete your piece in a 5x7 or 8x10 frame. All floral materials are provided and no experience is required, so you only need to bring your creativity. Instruction is guided by an artist with experience in floral preservation and more than ten years of jewelry making, who incorporates preserved flowers into jewelry, home decor, and accessories. Suitable for ages 14 and up. Multiple sessions are available, each priced at $98 with all materials included. Please note that the theater space is up a flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.

FREE Break Dancing Workshop with Self Xplanatory Crew

Side Street Studio Arts hosts a free breakdancing workshop led by the Self Xplanatory Crew. Designed for ages 8 and older, the session focuses on fundamentals of breaking, including footwork, freezes, rhythm, and style, in a welcoming, high energy setting. Whether new to the dance or looking to refine existing moves, participants can build confidence, learn new skills, and connect with the community. Yarn Art Social Circle

Naturalist Erica hosts a monthly conversation circle for yarn enthusiasts at Creek Bend Nature Center. Bring a knit, crochet, or other yarn project to work on alongside fellow crafters, share patterns and tips, and gather fresh ideas from new and longtime friends. All skill levels are welcome. The Legends Stage at Rock 'N Ravioli, set inside the Arcada Theatre lobby, hosts a piano bar night with Jess Piano. The set is interactive and spans pop, rock, Motown, country, R&B, yacht rock, and standards. Food and drinks are available for purchase, including a $25 buffet featuring Honey Fried Chicken, Pulled Pork, Pizz-O, Baked Beans, Mini Burgers, Garden Salad, and Potato Salad, plus the regular dinner menu and handcrafted cocktails. Pop up sale at the Spring Artisan Marketplace & Craft Show

At the Spring Artisan Marketplace & Craft Show at Arts in Bartlett, Astrid's Kitchen will be one of the outdoor vendors offering sourdough loaves, bread flights, and focaccia. Pre-orders for that day will be available for pickup at the booth, and website pre-orders can be collected at the event. Visitors can also explore work from many other artists, cottage food purveyors, crafters, and specialty vendors.

7th Annual Plant Sale

Returning for its seventh year, this plant sale features more than 150 varieties of locally grown plant starts, including vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Pre ordering is available through the farm's website, with reserved plants ready for pickup at the farmstand. Popular and unique varieties can sell out quickly. Beyond plants, the farmstand carries baked and canned goods, handcrafted art, produce, raw honey, and other favorites.

Spring Artisan Marketplace & Craft Show

Now in its fifth year, this spring marketplace and craft show showcases more than 40 area artists, cottage food makers, crafters, and specialty vendors. The event spans indoor and outdoor spaces at Bartlett Town Center and offers free admission.

Activities include a bounce house, a face painter, a balloon artist, and a special performance for the little ones. Community partners are returning, and the new, more accessible location is designed to help everyone participate and have fun. The focus is on community, inclusion, and active play.

FREE - Let's Ride! Safe & Smart Bicycling

This free bicycling session focuses on safe, confident riding for all ages, with activities suitable for children 3 and up. Participants will learn practical safety tips, review traffic rules and group riding etiquette, and pick up educational materials to take home. A relaxed group ride will follow along the park loop and finish at the playground. Please bring a water bottle. Helmets are required, and participants 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. There will be chances to win prizes. Meet in the parking lot at River Bend Community Park. Instruction is provided by the nonprofit Ride Illinois.

Elgin-area LGBTQIA+ community members and allies gather for a laid-back coffee meetup at Eastside Café - Coffee & Wine Bar. This recurring get-together is usually held on the first Saturday of the month, with occasional shifts to the schedule.

Kane County Flea Market - May

Browse a lively flea market with sellers set up both indoors and outside, featuring antiques, collectibles, vintage finds, home and holiday decor, furniture, crafts, clothing, and more. Food and beverages from local businesses are available on site, and parking is complimentary. Admission is $7 per person, with free entry for children 12 and under. Payment is collected at the gate and is cash only. Single admissions are not offered in advance online or by phone, and ATMs are available on the grounds. Verified 2026 season pass holders are the exception to paying at the gate. For booth rentals, reserve a space only by calling 630-377-2252 or by arranging it in person at a market. Be cautious of impersonators and scams on social media.

The Kane County Flea Market features a honey and beeswax vendor whose regular location is booth 4 inside the South Trades Building, with any changes to that spot shared on Facebook. Visitors can find liquid honey, comb honey, honey candy, honey straws, beeswax bars, soap, lotion, lip balm, and more. Admission is $7, and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. The vendor is not an event organizer, and any discussion posts claiming to accept booth registrations are scams.

Healing Paws Evaluation

Discover whether your pet is a fit for the Healing Paws Comfort Animal Program with a scheduled evaluation at PetSuites St. Charles. Anderson Humane’s volunteer teams visit senior centers, schools, and other locations where the calming presence of animals helps people, and participants commit at least two hours each month. Evaluations are by appointment, last 20 minutes, and include a $50 fee. Dogs evaluated at PetSuites must be current on rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and canine influenza (H3N2/H3N8). If a dog is not yet vaccinated for canine influenza, a single 30-day waiver is available per client. Rallye School

Learn how to Rallye or refresh your skills for the upcoming season at Euroquipe. The school features a classroom session to cover fundamentals and best practices, with light snacks and beverages provided. Registration and check in take place before the classroom session, which begins promptly. Following class, a short practice Rallye gives attendees an opportunity to apply what they learned on the road. The route concludes at Old Towne Pub & Eatery, where results are announced, questions are addressed, and experiences are shared. Rallye teams consist of a licensed driver over 18 and a navigator over 16. Both participants must pre-register, though only the driver pays the registration fee. Individuals may register as drivers and attend the school, but the practice Rallye requires a two-person team. There may be opportunities to partner with another registered participant at the school, although this cannot be guaranteed. PCA Chicago uses the Richta Competitor app, which provides real-time tracking and instant checkpoint feedback for teams. Paint the Street!!

Riverside Avenue becomes a canvas as a mapped street mural comes to life through an annual community art effort organized by the St. Charles Arts Council. The council prepares the layout, and community members with any level of experience fill in numbered sections to complete the image. This year’s artwork was created by St. Charles East High School student Corinna Dietz with mentorship from council board member Howard Russo, and the finished image will be revealed at the event. Painting happens along Riverside Avenue near where Flagship and the Arcada meet, and the roadway will be closed to traffic to keep participants safe. The completed piece is designed to stay vivid through summer and fall, then naturally fade in winter ahead of a repaint the following year. The presenting sponsor is Ron Onesti and the Arcada Theatre.

Tim-bitious Ambitious Ride - May 2026

Crank up the pace with a quicker, longer daytime outing inspired by the group’s full moon ride. This ride is geared toward experienced cyclists, covers about 15 to 20 miles, and follows a set route to a nearby destination, possibly toward Pingree Grove, Algonquin, or St. Charles. Expect extra sunshine, more mileage, and maybe even an ice cream stop. If you are curious about the name, ask ride coordinator Tim King when you see him. An ECB waiver for 2026 is required and is completed once for the year.

LITTLE FEAT: THE LAST FAREWELL TOUR

Little Feat marks a career spanning more than five decades with a farewell tour that highlights a deep songbook, including “Dixie Chicken,” “Oh, Atlanta,” “Willin’,” and “Fat Man in the Bathtub.” The group’s blend of rock, New Orleans swamp boogie, jazz, and blues anchors the set, reflecting a history that began when Frank Zappa encouraged Lowell George to start a band. George teamed with Bill Payne and Richie Hayward, later joined by Kenny Gradney, Sam Clayton, Paul Barrere, and Fred Tackett, and the era produced the acclaimed live album Waiting for Columbus. The journey has included the losses of Lowell George in 1979, Richie Hayward in 2010, and Paul Barrere in 2019. Scott Sharrard and Tony Leone are now part of the lineup, and the band recently released a new album of original songs titled Strike Up the Band. This run honors a long legacy while easing the pace for a road-tested outfit whose name was inspired by George’s small shoe size.

Double Treble Dueling Pianos returns to Rock 'N Ravioli inside the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles with a mix of familiar songs and on the spot requests. Treblemakers are welcomed to the mic to sing their favorite picks with the performers, creating an evening that combines dining and interactive entertainment.

ROCK ‘N RAVIOLI: Double Treble - Dueling Pianos

The Legends Stage at Rock 'N Ravioli, located in the lobby of the Arcada Theatre, sets the scene for a dueling pianos showcase with Double Treble. Two pianists go head to head, blending music with both highbrow and lowbrow comedy and bringing the crowd into the act with sing-along and clap-along moments. Food and drinks are available for purchase, including a $25 buffet featuring honey fried chicken, pulled pork, Pizz-O, baked beans, mini burgers, garden salad, and potato salad, along with the dinner menu and hand-crafted cocktails. The series welcomes new improv teams each month. Entry is pay what you can, with a suggested $10 contribution at the door that reflects the program’s cost, and guests are welcome to give more or less based on their circumstances.

5th Annual STC Baseball Strike Out Cancer Tournament ⚾️🎗

STC Baseball presents its fifth annual tournament dedicated to striking out pediatric cancer, bringing multiple days of youth baseball to East Side Sports Complex. Divisions include 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, and 14u. Registration is open to Single A and Double A teams. Cyanotypes - Sun Sensitive Photography WORKSHOP

Explore sun-made imagery in an interactive cyanotype workshop with Abby Franke. Learn this early photographic process as you design a unique composition by arranging natural items, found objects, or small keepsakes on photosensitive paper. After a brief exposure to sunlight followed by a simple water rinse, vivid blue and white prints appear. Participants take home finished cyanotypes along with the skills to continue experimenting independently. Open to ages 14 and up. All supplies are provided. The workshop fee is $45.

North Shore Sprinter

At the Fox River Trolley Museum, this staged photography experience recreates the CTA’s mid 1980s Spirit of Chicago era. Retro Creations Photography and Dave Zeman set the scene with authentic 50 series CTA cars in the Spirit of Chicago scheme, period props, costumed actors, and a lineup of classic cars from the 1970s and 1980s. The Blues Brothers Bluesmobile will be on site for photo opportunities. After nightfall, Dave Zeman leads a cinematic night shoot with professional lighting that transforms the museum into a vivid 1980s time capsule. Admission is $100 per person and is all inclusive.

Glorious Taiwan

Glorious Taiwan is a free program of music and dance for everyone. Presented at Bartlett High School, it celebrates Bartlett’s sister-city connection with Miaoli City, Taiwan, through a lively cultural showcase. Support from the Formosa Melody Music Center, Arts in Bartlett, and the Village of Bartlett makes this performance possible. The Formosa Melody Music Center is a well known Taiwanese performing arts group that has twice been selected by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) to tour the Americas on behalf of Taiwan.

ART CLASH 2026!

Art Clash returns in 2026 with the Fox Valley’s biggest live painting competition. This edition embraces the theme Verdant, featuring multiple rounds where the crowd selects two favorite paintings from each clash and eight artists ultimately move on to the City Final. A refreshed format changes how painters advance. After each preliminary round, a portion of the field is eliminated based on audience votes, with the number tied to how many artists are competing. The second round cuts rely on combined votes from both preliminary rounds. In the final, earlier points are cleared and any remaining painter can take the win. Cash prizes are on the line. Side Street Studio Arts provides and requires the use of paint, canvases, cleaning supplies, and easels. Additional mark-making tools such as markers are permitted only if supplied by Side Street and may be requested in advance, though availability is not guaranteed since the focus remains on painting. Artists may bring their own brushes, but no other special equipment, tools, or supplies. The program follows a Pay What You Can model. An $18 contribution reflects the true cost, yet contributions above or below that amount are welcome based on individual circumstances, and every gift helps sustain the space and the work happening there. Artists do not pay to compete.

The night blends three house styles, including a quick and punchy format packed with bold choices, a conversational long-form that invites your suggestion to spark connected scenes, and a new Jukebox approach where a chosen number, song, or genre kicks off each piece before the music fades and the comedy takes center stage. Surprises, playful turns, and audience-driven inspiration keep the energy high throughout.

The Greatest Piano Men

A fast-paced salute to piano-powered music honors trailblazing showmen including Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Billy Joel. Storytelling, vivid video, skilled backing singers, and a driving band power a set of 25 hit songs, with highlights like Good Golly Miss Molly, Superstition, Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, and New York State of Mind. Launched by the St. John’s Athletic Booster Club, this outing raises funds for the booster club, helps supplement the church’s general treasury, and contributes toward a new school building. A social night ride under the full moon explores the core neighborhoods of Elgin at a moderate pace. The route covers about 7 to 9 miles. The meeting location is Elgin Community Bikes, and basic support for air and minor adjustments will be available beforehand. For night riding, Illinois law requires a clear white light on the front and a red reflector or red light on the back. Riders who have not completed the 2026 annual ride waiver are asked to do so in advance.
