Dark Biosphere

Dark Biosphere invites audiences to consider what defines life, including reproduction, metabolism, growth, and adaptation. From some of the harshest places on Earth, it showcases extremophiles that flourish under intense conditions and explores what their resilience can tell us about the prospects for life beyond our planet, whether within our solar system or on exoplanets orbiting distant stars. It also examines the idea of panspermia, the possibility that organisms could spread from one world to another. Narration is by Viggo Mortensen, with direction by Javier Bollain and production by Render Area.

2026 Season Opener

The racing season kicks off with the O'Reilly Auto Parts Season Opener, presented by YMC Mechanical, featuring a packed lineup on the track. The program showcases Speed Tour Modifieds, NASCAR Trucks, Pepsi Sprint Cars, McDonald's Street Stocks, Thunder Dogs, and Fastlane Automotive Hornets. NAMIWalks Twin Falls is a community walk centered on mental health. Starting at Twin Falls Visitor Center, the 5k out and back follows the Canyon Rim Trail and channels support to NAMI Idaho’s life saving services, programs, guidance, and awareness efforts. The finish line is never crossed in isolation, and the shared effort builds resilience like the beams of a house, helping everyone feel safe, supported, and ready for joy.

Black Holes: Unknown Horizons

At the Herrett Center for Arts & Science, explore the extremes of gravity with Black Holes: Unknown Horizons, a 32-minute film from Double Dome Films created for the la Caixa Foundation and the Madrid Planetarium. Discover how these remarkable objects emerge from the cataclysmic deaths of massive stars, bend space and time, consume nearby stars, and send out waves that can be measured on Earth. Learn about the giants that anchor the centers of galaxies and outweigh billions of suns, as well as the smallest theoretical versions that could be tinier than an atom and vanish in a flash of gamma rays. After the screening, a live presenter guides a tour of black holes across the cosmos, including a look at which, if any, might pose a risk to Earth. Open captioning is available.

With more than 9,000 BASE jumps to his name, Chuma guides participants through judgment, risk management, and foundational skills aimed at building safe, steady progress. The curriculum includes an advanced segment for those ready to move beyond entry-level fundamentals, and additional training days can be added. Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival

They encounter dinosaurs large and small, including feathered varieties, while exploring what became of these animals and whether any trace remains today. After the main presentation, a live presenter leads a tour of the current night sky with guidance on spotting planets, tips for identifying constellations, and stories about the stars from long ago. CSI Theater presents Helen Edmundson's stage adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, following the intertwined journeys of Anna and Levin as they grapple with love, duty, longing, and the search for meaning within a restrictive society. Anna, bound to an unhappy marriage, is transformed by her meeting with the officer Vronsky, a choice that sparks passion and far-reaching consequences. In parallel, the story explores her brother's troubled marriage and the growing connection between Kitty and Levin, creating a broad portrait of relationships in many forms. As Anna moves toward tragedy and Levin toward self-understanding, the production reflects on devotion, loss, and the price of seeking fulfillment. Kids' Gardening Workshop

Young gardeners ages 5 to 12 can take part in a hands-on workshop at the Herrett Center for Arts & Science. Each participant selects a plant or flower to pot during the session and take home afterward. Orton Botanical Gardens will be on site to share information with families and highlight examples of what visitors can look forward to seeing in the Gardens this season. Early Elementary Book Club

Beginner Pottery Wheel Class

1st Annual Mama Celebration

At Clyde Thomsen Park, this community celebration centers on moms with a relaxed morning of movement, connection, and fun. The once-a-year Lady Bluebeard Ball returns for a single night, long whispered about by those who favor the forbidden. Guests can look forward to upscale hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, and narratives drawn from the legend of Idaho’s notorious widow. As the night deepens, live performances build, including Mama Shoshone and her haunting songs, while daring dancers step into Lady Bluebeard's lore. Each waltz hints at a cost, and hidden truths weave through devotion and deceit as a chilling mystery takes hold. Prohibition-era evening attire is encouraged to match the mood of romance and intrigue with an otherworldly touch. Attendees must be 21 or older.
