Participants will explore how thoughts and feelings influence one another, then practice accessible tools such as guided imagery, thought reframing, and meditation to shift from stress and overload toward clarity, equilibrium, and a stronger sense of empowerment. The emphasis is on practical application, encouraging a new relationship with feelings so that understanding them becomes a doorway to healing. Gigi’s background spans conventional and holistic care. She was born in Bogotá, Colombia and earned a dentistry degree from Universidad El Bosque in 1992. An early interest in complementary and Eastern approaches led her to study Shiatsu to ease anxiety for patients, friends, and family. After relocating to the United States in 1999, she experienced periods of anxiety and depression and pursued a more integrative path when traditional methods alone did not bring lasting relief. Beginning in 2019 she deepened her practice through Reiki and meditation, work that helped her move beyond panic attacks and reconnect with balance and inner peace. She became an Angelic Reiki Practitioner in 2021, trained in Cognitive Coaching, and earned a Life Coach certification from the Synchrony Center in Fort Lauderdale the same year. Her studies now include Crystal Therapy and Akashic Records to uncover patterns that can shape physical health, emotions, and relationships, and she also offers energetic clearing for homes and workplaces. In 2022 she founded EnCompass, integrating multiple modalities to personalize support, with a focus on teaching others to build awareness, practical tools, and inner guidance for their own transformational path.

ISU Extension and Outreach - Woodbury CountyHERd Sense - An Equine Assisted Therapy Group for High School Girls
Prairie River Counseling and STARS Inc present a four-session equine assisted psychotherapy group designed for high school girls preparing for a new school year. The series focuses on building confidence, strengthening self-worth, improving communication, and fostering genuine connection with self and others. Across the four weeks, participants explore forming healthy relationships, cultivating positive body image and self-esteem, navigating challenges with effective communication and problem solving, and weaving these skills into everyday life. Sessions use an experiential, ground-based approach with no riding. A STARS equine specialist and a therapist are present when working with the horses. Activities vary by group goals and may include grooming and observing the herd, storytelling, creative exercises, or structured tasks alongside the horses. This modality brings horses into the therapeutic process, offering an option for teens who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy, prefer to move and work hands-on, or simply appreciate time with equine partners that can reflect emotions and responses like co-therapists. The group meets outdoors when weather allows, so dressing for conditions is encouraged. Water is available, and many participants bring their own water, bug spray, and sunscreen if needed.
