Advance Care Planning

Conversations about end-of-life planning can be difficult, so this informative workshop offers guidance and support for anyone interested in advance care planning. Participants will explore how to make choices known, why clear documentation matters, and ways to ensure wishes are communicated during emergencies when someone may be unable to speak for themselves. The session features Tessa Stewart, who has five years of experience in senior care, including roles in a continuing care retirement community and non-medical home care, and who now supports seniors and adults through hospice services at St. Croix Hospice. She is dedicated to educating about levels of senior care and also serves the community through Alzheimer's caregiver support groups. The program is offered in a hybrid format, with options to attend in person or virtually via Zoom, and registration is required. Dinner is provided for all in-person registrants by St. Croix. Spring Series of Home Horticulture - Week 3

Illinois Extension offers a spring home horticulture series focused on timely topics in gardening, landscaping, and personal wellness, presented by experienced educators. Week 3 at the Hauberg Carriage House features light appetizers and two presentations. Food and nutrition educator Kristin Bogdonas explores ways to nourish the gut for better health, and Illinois Extension master gardener and retired dietitian Carol Longley covers how to grow, dry, and use fresh herbs. Admission is 15 dollars per session.

Wet Basement Solutions: Top to Bottom

Learn practical ways to keep basements dry in a workshop focused on prevention and management. Topics include channeling water away from the house, improving drainage, and identifying problem spots from the roof down to the foundation. Participants will also learn how to determine when it is time to call a professional. Seating is limited. Cost is $20 for Moline residents and $25 for non-Moline residents.

Rock Island Library Citizens' Academy

Modeled after civic citizens' academies, the Rock Island Public Library presents a behind-the-scenes RIPL Citizens' Academy held over four Mondays in April and May. Each one-hour session offers an inside look at how the library runs, from budgeting to the way librarians choose books and other materials from the millions available. Participants who complete all four sessions receive a keepsake, a sign to show support for the library at home, and an honorary librarian certificate.

2018 General Movie Trivia

Test your film knowledge with a general movie trivia night spotlighting 2018 at The Last Picture House. This event is part of a Movie Trivia Series where each edition focuses on a single year, and the next theme is chosen by drawing a year from a bowl during the event. Think & Drink Trivia brings a live, interactive team game to Barrel House on Utica Ridge in Davenport. Teams tackle four rounds that get tougher as they go, with points increasing each round. Questions span a wide mix of topics, including current events, history, geography, science, sports, and more. Participation is free, all ages are welcome, and groups can have up to eight players. Winners can take home house cash, and prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place. For each question, a song plays and teams have that track’s duration to turn in an answer. Tales for Tots

This is an enriching activity for children ages birth through three, along with an adult caregiver. During the session, attendees will hear stories, move to music, recite action poems, and learn fingerplays. There is also interactive playtime.

Homeschool Book Club

This book club is designed for children ages 9-12 and meets every other month. Grab a copy of My Own World by Mike Holmes from the youth desk. Kids will participate in a librarian-led discussion about the book, as well as enjoy a craft and snacks.

SAL Community Services Drop-in Hours

SAL Community Services offers free drop-in hours at East Moline Public Library, and no health insurance is needed. Support is available for accessing childcare for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years.

NAMI Connection Peer Recovery Support Group – Moline

This is a support group for adults who are living with a mental health condition. There is no cost to attend. By sharing experiences, attendees can gain hope and develop relationships in a safe and confidential environment. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion, and a sense of community. This group may help individuals see the person first, recognize mental illnesses as medical illnesses, understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events, aim for better coping skills, find strength in sharing, reject stigma and discrimination, not judge anyone’s pain, forgive themselves and reject guilt, embrace humor, and accept that we cannot solve every problem. The support groups follow a structured model to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be heard, and are led by trained facilitators who also have a mental health condition.

Creative Rhythm Reset Experience

Slow the pace and reconnect in a relaxed setting at Revive Cafe, where adults of any age can explore gentle movement, rhythm, creativity, and calming sound. Guided activities include light coordination work with simple props like tennis balls, peaceful sound bowl moments to settle the mind, and easygoing art time with coloring and doodling. Move at whatever tempo feels right, focusing on the experience rather than outcomes, with plenty of room to discover your natural rhythm without pressure. Short segments repeat, so you can drop in for one or continue through several at your own pace. Held in the yoga studio with pay-what-you-can access. Bringing a yoga mat is optional and chairs are provided.

Memory Circle

The Memory Circle provides a relaxing environment for adults living with dementia, along with their caregivers, to enjoy stimulating activities, socialization, and reminiscence. Activities and topics will vary each month, bringing new discussion points and memories to share. Offered on the last Tuesday of every month, registration is not required. This program is offered in collaboration with the Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimers Association and is sponsored by The Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.

Staff lead visitors through rooms on multiple levels, sharing stories that connect the homes to the community’s past. The experience begins at the Deere-Wiman House and continues to the Butterworth Center nearby. Reservations are required through Eventbrite. There is no admission charge, and donations are welcomed.

Davenport Junior Theatre Workshop: Acting 6-9

Davenport Junior Theatre presents a creative workshop for children ages 6 to 9 that introduces theatre through a focus on acting, with ties to musical theatre and puppetry. Young performers explore the actor’s essential tools… voice, body, and imagination… through playful activities and games that show how each element supports clear storytelling and confident stage presence. 2026 Denim Day Paint Night Fundraiser

Celebrate Denim Day with a creative paint night fundraiser at RIBCO, Rock Island Brewing Company. Participants can design meaningful art on denim to show support for survivors, with all ages welcome. Bring your own denim for $16 or choose a 10-inch denim patch for $20. Each option includes paint, all supplies, and a beverage of your choice. Food is available for purchase from the full kitchen. Tickets are non-refundable. Proceeds benefit free and confidential sexual abuse program services for survivors in the community. Star Wars Unlimited Weekly Free Play

Each Wednesday, Star Wars Unlimited players gather to build and tune decks, test matchups, and trade strategy tips in a relaxed, no-cost setting. RNBW for Youth

RNBW is a welcoming, affirming counseling group for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12 to 17 who are experiencing mental health symptoms. In a supportive setting centered on discovery, strength, and hope, participants explore different pathways to recovery. Conversations may include mindfulness, harm reduction, sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, trauma, and practical coping strategies. Dinner is provided at each session. Campfire Glow | $29 | Cozy Paint Night (Quad Cities – Moline, IL)

River Action marks its 24th year with a fundraising dinner at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf. A Jump Between Steps: Adaptation Anthology Release Party

This book release at the Galvin Fine Arts Center at St. Ambrose University spotlights A Jump Between Steps, an anthology focused on adaptation, with live readings from the writers featured in the collection. Readers include Eleanor Ambler, Sophia Best, Ann Boaden, Vivian Bornhoeft, Lynn Carlsten, Melissa Conway, Claire Dodson, Daniel J. Flosi, Nancy Hayes, June Heller, Lyn Kress, Ron Lackey, Farah Marklevits, Molly McGuire, Sam Miller, Daniel E. Salazar, Anna Terry, Emily Tobin, Elena Vallejo, Morgan Webb, Tysia Webb-Bey, Esther Windt, and David Wright. The first 100 attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology. Additional copies will be available to purchase during the event and later through MWC Press’s online bookstore. MWC Press reviewed submissions blind and selected 23 works for inclusion, and the imprint is publishing the collection in conjunction with this event. The program is part of a collaboration between MWC and Galvin Fine Arts at St. Ambrose University that explores adaptation through events, activities, and publications, with support from the MWC Legacy Society and the Illinois Arts Council.

Line Dance Lessons

Line dance lessons now take place at the Columbus Club in Davenport. There is a weekly beginner class, followed by a high beginner to intermediate session. Each session is $5, or both can be attended for $8. A monthly option is available for $20 and covers attendance at both lessons. Beginner instruction runs in two month cycles and restarts after each cycle. All drinks must be purchased from the Columbus Club, and frozen pizza and snack items are available.

Toy Story Night

QCBC Spring Tailwind Ride

QCBC Spring Tailwind Ride features a 100-mile course planned to take advantage of seasonal winds so riders can enjoy a tailwind for most of the journey. Participants meet at the parking lot at the east end of Ben Butterworth Parkway, where bikes are loaded onto a truck and riders are transported by bus to the starting point. Lunch is provided about halfway through the route. There are no other supported stops and no support vehicles, so riders should be prepared to ride self-supported between lunch and the finish. A community chess tournament at Western Illinois University–Quad Cities honors the memories of Roger Kromphardt and Tony Britton. Organized by the Western Illinois Chess Club, it welcomes players of all ages, and US Chess Federation membership is required for every section. The Open section also serves as a Mini-Qualifier for Iowa State Chess Association Grand Prix points. Players choose from three sections. The Open features a four-round Swiss with G/65, 5-second delay. The Reserve section, for players rated under 1400, uses a four-round Swiss with G/60, 5-second delay. The Beginner/Youth section, for players rated under 800, plays a four-round Swiss at G/20 with no delay. Open and Reserve include a lunch break, and rounds may begin early when a prior round finishes and all players agree. Beginner/Youth games proceed as soon as possible with a break roughly between the third and fourth rounds. Registration includes coffee, snacks, and lunch. Fees are as follows: Open is $35 in advance online or $40 cash-only in person the same day, Reserve is $25 in advance online or $30 cash-only in person the same day, and Beginner/Youth is $20 in advance online or $25 cash-only in person the same day. On-site registration is available, and adults, young adults, and students can receive a $3 discount when registering through the club’s affiliation. Prizes are awarded in every section. The Open offers $150 for first, $100 for second, $75 for third, and $50 for fourth. The Reserve awards $100 for first, $75 for second, and $50 for third. The Beginner/Youth section presents trophies for places one through five, with participation medals for places six through twenty. Equipment and notation requirements vary by section. Boards and clocks are supplied for Beginner/Youth games. Players in the Open and Reserve must bring a regulation board and clock, and must keep score in algebraic notation using provided scoresheets. Electronic scoresheets are not allowed. Standard tournament procedures and etiquette apply. Use one hand to move and press the clock, follow touch-move, announce j’adoube before adjusting a piece, and promote immediately upon reaching the promotion square. After moving, press the clock to complete the turn. If an illegal move occurs, stop the clock and call the Tournament Director, and a time penalty will be applied in accordance with event policy. Outside assistance, books, and phones are prohibited during play, and conversations should be limited to the opponent or the Tournament Director, with quiet maintained in the playing area. Disputes are handled through the Tournament Director. Parents and guardians are responsible for young players and must remain on site. Light snacks and coffee are available in the waiting area. Green Valley Sports Complex hosts the eighteenth annual youth soccer tournament that pays tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces. Cinco De Mayo Bash

The Cinco de Mayo celebration returns to the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds with free admission and a full day of food and entertainment. K&K Community Garage Sale 2026

K&K is hosting a community garage sale in its parking lot, offering reserved selling spaces for a $10 fee. Spots are limited, and the fee secures a place and helps prevent no-shows. Reservations and payment are handled through the main office. Each seller will receive a space labeled with their name and should keep all displays within that area. K&K supplies tables, while sellers manage their own setup and takedown, set prices, handle transactions, and watch over their belongings. Bringing bags or boxes for purchases is encouraged. At the end of the sale, sellers must clean their areas and take all unsold items with them. The event takes place rain or shine. The store will be closed and restrooms will not be available. Girls Walk

Girls and women gather at River's Edge Sports Complex for a supportive walking and running group that blends movement, conversation, and community. VO2 Max testing

Trained Augustana kinesiology students will administer VO2 max assessments that gauge cardiovascular fitness and maximal endurance in a brief 10 to 15 minute session on a treadmill or stationary bike. All testing takes place at the Peter J. Lindberg, M.D., Center for Health and Human Performance. This opportunity is open to everyone, with pre-registration required, and all participants will sign a waiver on the day of testing. Prices are $20 for Augustana students, $50 for faculty, staff, and alumni, and $60 for the general public. Hosted by the Kinesiology Lab.

Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation is hosting Curious By Nature, a STEAM-based, nature-focused childrens program. This program is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. A poetry reading at The Atlas Collective features three poets from Iowa City, with time to hear their work, talk with the writers, and pick up signed copies. Admission is free and no RSVP is required. Margaret Yapp is the author of Green for Luck (EastOver Press, 2024) and the founding editor of Rampage Party Press. She holds an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and an MFA in Book Arts from the University of Iowa Center for the Book, and she lives and works in Iowa City. Tia Fishler received an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She lives in Iowa City, where she writes, teaches, and bartends. Her work appears in Seneca Review, Bullshit Lit, Prompt Press, Broken Stone Review, and Feminine Collective. Samantha Tuttle is a poet from Salinas, California. She lives in Iowa City and works as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault. Her poems have appeared in Rampage Party Press, Dunce Codex, and Broken Stone Review.

Lorcana Wilds Unknown Pre-Release Tournament

At Bass Street Landing, runners and walkers can choose between a 5K and a half marathon on a flat riverfront course. The 5K covers 3.1 miles on a single loop that follows riverfront roads and the bike path, with split times at each mile and one water stop. Cash prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers, with additional recognition for the first masters man and woman. Age group awards go up to three deep in divisions ranging from 19 and under through 80 and over in five-year increments, and overall or masters winners are not eligible for age group awards. The half marathon spans 13.1 miles across four continuous loops along the same corridor and includes four water stations. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal. Cash awards of $100 are presented to the male and female overall winners, and $100 to the masters winners age 40 and up. Age group awards mirror the 5K divisions, and overall winners and overall masters winners are not eligible for those categories. Walkers are encouraged to choose the 5K. After the races, the celebration continues at the venue for participants and volunteers, featuring complimentary post-race massages and trophy presentations. Every finisher receives flowers. Free half marathon training runs are available ahead of race day, open to all, with distances that gradually increase under coach John Parker.

Highland Springs Golf Course hosts the 16th annual golf outing fundraiser in support of Transitions Mental Health Services. SAL Community Services hosts a free Touch a Truck experience for children and families from the Quad Cities and nearby communities. Kids can get an up close look at real vehicles, including construction equipment, city service trucks, and a trolley. It is a hands on opportunity to see, touch, and learn about the machines that help the community every day. Teen Vehicle Maintenance 101

Bettendorf Parks & Recreation is partnering with ACE Auto Doctor and Repair to offer a vehicle maintenance class for ages 15-19. Participants will learn how to check tire pressure, change tires, check and replace fluids, replace engine oil and the oil filter, and connect to the onboard computer to read codes and live data. Admission is $29 plus tax and fees. With step by step guidance from an ArtFlow Studios artist, participants paint a soft, abstract sunset with a blended sky, reflective water, and simple foreground elements using large brushes only. The emphasis is on movement, color, and enjoying the process without fine detail work. All materials are provided, including paints, tools, and an apron. Spring Senior Golf Cart Tour 10:00 am - Bettendorf, IA 2026

The Friends of the Bettendorf Park Foundation are organizing a golf cart tour of Bettendorf’s Recreation Trail. The tour will go along Bettendorf’s Duck Creek Recreational Trail from Palmer Hills Golf Course to Duck Creek Park in Davenport and then back to Palmer Hills. Golf carts will be provided, and participants can operate them or have operators provided for them. Drivers must be at least 18 years old. There will be stops at different places along the route. The tour lasts around 2 hours. Parking is at Palmer Hills Golf Course. The participation fee supports the Friends of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation. Registration is needed for each driver and rider, and tours are capped at 70 people. This event is mainly for seniors, but anyone 18 or older is welcome. If the weather is bad, the tour will be cancelled, and you will get a refund.

Kustom culture takes center stage at the 5th Annual Sandra Lee Memorial Car & Bike Show at Rock Island County Fairgrounds. The day features appearances by Von Hot Rod, the "Master of the Fine Line" and an internationally known pinstriper, Ryan "Ryno" Templeton, a custom painter and television personality noted for bold automotive work, Jim "Hetz" Hetzler, a veteran artist and designer with decades of impact on the scene, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell, a former WCW wrestling star, and Lash Leroux, a wrestling figure and caricature artist. Voodoo Larry and Ruby will also appear with the Voodoo Sahara, a highly radical 1954 custom Kaiser presented as a rolling work of art. A new highlight titled "One Line At A Time" introduces a live panel jam and charity auction, where top artists and pinstripers create original pieces in real time to support a charitable effort. In its fifth year, the show raises funds for the Autism Society of the Quad Cities. Handmade trophies will be awarded for Best of Show, Best Car, Best Truck, Best Bike, and Top 40. Sandra’s HotRods and Honeys Pinup Contest brings vintage flair to the Rock Island County Fairgrounds as ten contestants vie for the title of Miss Sandra’s HotRod Honey. Looks inspired by the 40s, 50s, and 60s take center stage while judges consider overall vintage styling, stage presence, and audience interaction. The event is family friendly. Applicants of all ages are welcome to compete. Applications request your name, stage name, hometown, why you are drawn to pinup, and your favorite vintage car. Include a photo that does not need to be professional, plus a nonrefundable $30 registration fee, which can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. The first ten complete submissions with photo and fee will be selected to compete. A modest dress code applies. Very short dresses and shorts are not permitted, and swimsuits are not allowed, even in retro styles. If an outfit is deemed not appropriate for the stage, a change may be required or disqualification may occur. Bringing a backup outfit is recommended. Top honors include the title of Miss Sandra’s HotRod Honey for first place, along with a crown and sash, $100 in cash, and a $50 gift certificate from Abernathy’s in Davenport. Second place receives the title of Miss Va-Va Vroom, a sash, $50 in cash, and a $40 gift certificate from Abernathy’s. Third place receives the title of Miss Hepcat Honey, a sash, $25 in cash, and a $30 gift certificate from Abernathy’s. All participants receive a gift bag.

Hey B's 3rd Saturday Pool Tournament

Great River Region SCCA - 2026 Autocross #3

The third autocross of the 2026 season from the Great River Region SCCA takes place at Rock Island County Fairgrounds. The day progresses from course and event setup to driver check in and tech inspections, followed by time to walk the course, a rookie walkthrough, a drivers meeting, and then cars on course. Competition runs in a split heat format. Heat 1 takes four runs, then Heat 2 takes four runs. A lunch break may be skipped depending on the schedule, so bringing food is a good idea. After the break, Heat 1 completes as many additional runs as time allows, usually three or four, and Heat 2 follows the same plan. First-time participants have support from a dedicated rookie coordinator who provides a course walk and ride along guidance.

At Coffee House, makers gather for a relaxed, adults-only creative session. Attendees bring a portable project to work on, keeping supplies tidy for the space. All are welcome at any skill level, and any art or craft is encouraged as long as it is easy to carry and does not create a mess. Conversation avoids religion and politics so the focus stays on making.

The Vermont-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist, a cofounder of Twiddle, has released music on Ineffable Records that blends reggae spirit with expansive production. Effection features collaborations with artists from the reggae and roots rock world, while his third studio album, Before The Dream, spans 14 tracks with guests including Little Stranger, Tropidelic, Lily Fangz, G. Love, Brett Dennen, Andy Frasco, Seven Suns, Satsang, and Moon Taxi, with production by Spencer Thomson and additional contributions from DENM and Nathan Feinstein of Aurorawave. Outlet Programme & Ragged Records Present: DERYA YILDRIM & GRUP ŞIMŞEK at Rozz-Tox

Outlet Programme and Ragged Records present an evening at Rozz-Tox with Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek, with an opening act to be announced. Led by multi-instrumentalist Derya Yıldırım, the ensemble blends Anatolian folk traditions with a contemporary psychedelic edge, centering the sound of the bağlama while keeping time-honored melodies at the core. The band formed after Yıldırım connected with French collaborators Graham Mushnik and Antonin Voyant, and later added drummer Helen Wells in 2021. They describe their cross-border aesthetic as outernational, honoring classic lyrics and tunes while giving them new energy. After several self-produced releases, the group signed with New York’s Big Crown Records in 2024 and partnered with producer Leon Michels on Yarın Yoksa, an album that pairs original compositions with reinterpreted folk songs, its title meaning If There Is No Tomorrow. Crawford Brew Works presents Ryan Bizarri, Country Music For Yor Country Soul

Nashville singer-songwriter Ryan Bizarri brings an acoustic country set to Crawford Brew Works, weaving heartfelt storytelling with both originals and familiar favorites. Expect nods to legends such as Garth Brooks, Zac Brown, Toby Keith, and Brad Paisley, along with behind-the-music moments that include his co-write for Rodney Atkins, "Eat Sleep Love You Repeat." This free, public show pairs live music with a full taproom and kitchen experience. The bar features more than fifteen beers on draft, including Get Off My Lawn IPA, Road Rash Raspberry Fruit Beer, and Butcher's Blood Lager, plus Bettendorf Mules, grown up root beer floats, wine, and hard ciders, with non-alcoholic options like Athletic N-A beer and sodas. The kitchen menu offers Asada Street Tacos and Valentina's Brisket Tacos, The Burger or a Mushroom Burger with truffle aioli, Brisket or Margherita flatbreads, and the playful 5pm Pancakes topped with hand breaded chicken and a hot honey glaze. Quad Cities Summer Throwdown

Presented by CrossFit Millstone, the Quad Cities Summer Throwdown offers team-based competition with co-ed options for both RX and Scaled athletes. Pairs consist of one male and one female, and teams of four combine a male pair and a female pair, with both formats available in RX and Scaled. Early bird entry for pairs is $190 plus tax and then $225, while teams of four are $380 plus tax before increasing to $415. Early bird pricing is limited to the first 30 teams. All participants receive a shirt. Top RX teams take home cash prizes, with payouts determined by the number of teams registered. Registration is open.

Sunday Funday Concert Series: Jeni Grouws & The Big 6

Part of the Sunday Funday Concert Series, Jeni Grouws & The Big 6 deliver a roots-driven set filled with groove, heart and surging horn energy. American roots artist Jeni Grouws brings soul-deep vocals and potent songwriting, drawing on experience co-founding and touring with the two-time Billboard charting Avey Grouws Band. She is beginning a new solo chapter with a debut album slated for summer 2026, recorded at Purple House in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Casey Wasner and featuring Brian Allen, Mike Hicks and Johnny Duke, along with guests Drew Smithers of the Marcus King Band, Anne Harris and Emmanuel Echem. The performance highlights powerful vocals, evocative songs and a generous onstage presence. FORCSide Thrill Ride -Save the Date 6/14/26

The Quad City Steamwheelers face the Orlando Pirates at Vibrant Arena. Children age 2 and under may attend at no cost when seated on a lap. Doors open roughly 55 minutes before the game begins.
