Harbor Days Plant Share

The inaugural Harbor Days Plant Share gathers plant enthusiasts for a friendly exchange of garden goods. Attendees are encouraged to bring clearly labeled seeds, potted plants or cuttings, fruits, herbs, vegetables, flowers, cut garden blooms, pots, soil, compost, eggs, and snacks such as donuts, cookies, chips, or candy. Small monetary contributions can support supplies for future gatherings, including buckets, seeds, tables, and signage, and anything garden related is welcome. Before the event begins, there is time to drop off items. Once the host opens the share, participants respectfully help themselves while connecting with fellow plant lovers, and when everything wraps up, any remaining items will be gathered and delivered to free stores around the island. To keep things fair and tidy, take only one type of each plant at the outset, then return for more after the initial round. Label all plants. Keep boxes larger than a shoe box or white food tray away from the tables by leaving them in your car or setting them aside on the sidewalk, and clearly mark personal containers if their contents are not part of the share. Raffles may be held if zoopoo or other donated giveaways become available. The organizer is seeking volunteers, extra tables, and help transporting leftovers to free stores. There is an effort to keep the closest loading zone open for drop offs. Parking is available inside for $3, and street parking is another option.

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitarist Raul Midón brings a distinctive blend of soul, jazz, Latin groove, and virtuosic acoustic playing. The aim is for participants to leave with a fuller understanding of Hawaiʻi, its accomplishments, and its challenges, and to carry those stories home to share. Water and granola bars are available on site, though bringing a personal water bottle is encouraged. Comfortable shoes, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a portable fan, a camera, and note taking supplies are recommended. The Rock and Roll Playhouse: Music of The Beatles for Kids

Celebrate the songs of The Beatles in a kid-focused concert featuring Maui Pranksters, presented by The Rock and Roll Playhouse. Designed for families with children ten and under, this interactive program blends timeless rock favorites with games, movement, and storytelling that encourage creativity and make live music accessible to young listeners. Sound levels are kept lower for small ears, and some families may prefer using hearing-protection earmuffs such as Baby Banz. Every child must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. The performance honors the music of the artists named, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. The Rock and Roll Playhouse is a national family concert series presented at notable music venues, inviting children to sing, dance, and play along while discovering classics from rock history. For many kids, it offers an early introduction to the excitement of live performance. Photography and video may be taken during the event. Attendance grants the venue, The Rock and Roll Playhouse, and their licensees permission to use such images and recordings in any media. Seating is communal and first come, first served. A $20 food or beverage minimum applies per person, with a full bar and complete dinner menu available. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges, so please verify ticket details before purchasing.

Kapi'olani Park Walking Tour

Explore the rich past of Kapiʻolani Park on a historical walking tour that begins at Kaimana Beach and concludes in front of the Honolulu Zoo. The experience spans about three hours with an easy pace and less than a mile of total walking. Expect four to five unhurried stops, each lasting roughly 20 to 30 minutes in shaded areas with grass or picnic tables for comfortable seating, and feel free to carry a small folding chair if that helps. Stories trace Hawaiʻi’s journey from traditional times through the rise of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the unlawful overthrow, and later chapters, highlighting perspectives that are not often covered in classrooms. Images and other media bring past and present into focus, helping everyone visualize the changes over time. Water and granola bars are provided, and bringing a personal water bottle is encouraged. For comfort, consider sturdy shoes, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a compact chair, a portable fan, a camera, and something for taking notes. Participants are welcome to share their experience on social media and tag @nowandthentours with #nowandthentours. Both free and paid parking can be found around Kapiʻolani Park, and the Honolulu Zoo offers a large public paid lot. Restrooms are available along the route. A brief survey will be collected at the end to support feedback for Now & Then Tours Hawaiʻi. A 50% kamaʻāina discount is available.

Kapi'olani Park Walking Tour

Explore the stories of Kapiʻolani Park on a guided history walk that highlights one of Hawaiʻi’s earliest public parks. The route begins at Kaimana Beach and concludes in front of the Honolulu Zoo. Although scheduled for about three hours, the pace is relaxed, with a total distance of under a mile. The group stops at four to five shaded locations for 20 to 30 minutes each, with places to sit on picnic tables or grass, and foldable chairs are welcome. Along the way, participants hear accounts spanning from early Hawaiʻi and King Kamehameha I to the rise of the Hawaiian Kingdom, its overthrow considered illegal, and the years that followed. Images and media help compare past and present, creating moments to step into the area’s history. The aim is for guests to leave with a deeper understanding of Hawaiʻi’s past, its achievements and its challenges, and to feel prepared to share these stories with others. Water and granola bars are available on site, and bringing a personal water bottle is recommended. Comfortable shoes and sun protection such as sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are suggested, and optional items like a folding chair, a small fan, a camera, and something for notes can add comfort. Those who share their experience online can tag @nowandthentours and use #nowandthentours. Parking options include both free and paid spaces around Kapiʻolani Park, and the Honolulu Zoo offers a large paid lot. Public restrooms are accessible along the route.
