Spacious: A Breath & Sound Journey

Settle into an evening of guided breathing, soothing sound, and unhurried rest in Kaka’ako. This gentle experience invites you to release the need to do or achieve, creating room in your body and mind so you can simply arrive as you are. The session begins with simple, accessible breath guidance to help you land, followed by an immersive sound journey that may feel calming, opening, or quietly expansive. There is nothing to force and no goal to reach, just space to soften, notice, and be. It can be especially supportive if you have been moving from one thing to the next without pause, feeling overstimulated or touched out, craving rest without shutting down, or wanting spaciousness without pressure. No prior experience with breathwork or meditation is needed, and you are encouraged to move at your own pace and follow your body’s cues. Expect an enveloping soundscape that may include intuitive vocals, gentle drumming, and chimes, along with unstructured time to rest and integrate. The facilitators are Jenna Schneider Mercado, a holistic trauma therapist, intuitive guide, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose work centers nervous system awareness, intuitive insight, and emotional integration, and Anela Bird, an acupuncturist, breathwork facilitator, and integration guide who weaves body based healing, ceremony, and intuitive practice for grounded, embodied transformation. Together they hold a thoughtful, supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself and feel met exactly where you are. The gathering takes place in a private studio near HiClimb, with exact location details shared after ticket purchase. Parking options include a paid public lot near HiClimb, nearby street parking, the Whole Foods Market lot a short walk away, and a garage near UFC Gym. Bring a yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on, a blanket and pillow for warmth and support, cozy layers since the studio tends to be cool, water, and anything else that helps you feel at ease. Plan to arrive a bit early, at least ten minutes, so you have time to park and settle in comfortably. Attendance is limited to keep the atmosphere intimate.

Alohana Latin Dance Festival

Alohana is a new Latin dance festival from Salsa In Hawaii and Luxe Hawaii that blends the spirit of aloha with the sense of ohana to create a welcoming experience for people who love to dance. The celebration begins at The District Nightclub, home to Salsamor by Luxe Hawaii, and wraps up at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, a venue known for hosting the Hawaii Salsa & Bachata Congress by Salsa In Hawaii. Plans include beach events that highlight the islands’ setting, including a party at Kaimana, also known as Sans Souci Beach, and a strong dose of local culture throughout the weekend. Expect three of Waikiki’s largest ballrooms measuring approximately 7,000, 6,500, and 5,200 square feet, workshops led by accomplished instructors, two nights at Salsamor in The District Nightclub, a roster of DJs, professional photo and video teams, and a vendor area, with the possibility of additional programming. Featured artists and teams include Misaki, Monika and Victor, Hide and Peko who are six-time Japan national salsa champions, Lion and Sue who organize the Jeju Latin Culture Festival in Korea, Umi from Japan, Yukiko and David from California, Irakli and Maria from Texas, Frida from California, Saori who has worldwide experience and is based in Thailand, Takaten from Japan, and Julia and Rizca who help drive Maui’s bachata scene. Music will be powered by Nelly the DJ from New York and DJ Ajad from Thailand. Local talent adds even more flavor, with appearances from Stefan and Andrea, Cherry Saimon, Kaya and Shaun, Tsotso, Tere Suki, Jarryd Julian and Kimberly, along with the Ritmo808 crew of Rod, NiccoSuave, and Da Lion of Judah. Alohana sets itself apart from the Hawaii Salsa & Bachata Congress and other local events by weaving more Hawaiian and local cultural elements into the Latin dance experience. Led by Grant, noted as the only large-scale salsa and bachata event organizer of Hawaiian descent, the festival features both salsa and bachata while also welcoming ballroom and additional dance styles. With three full-size ballrooms, the schedule can accommodate more classes and bootcamps.

Kapi'olani Park Walking Tour

Explore one of Hawaiʻi’s earliest public parks on a guided historical walk that begins at Kaimana Beach and concludes in front of the Honolulu Zoo. The experience lasts about three hours, yet the total distance is under a mile. Expect four to five stops of roughly 20 to 30 minutes each, with shaded areas and places to sit on picnic tables or grass. Bringing a lightweight folding chair is welcome for added comfort. Stories span from the era often called ancient Hawaiʻi, with King Kamehameha I as a key historical marker, through the rise of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the illegal overthrow, and the decades that followed. Photos and other media help contrast past and present so participants can visualize how the landscape and community have changed. The aim is for everyone to leave with a stronger understanding of Hawaiʻi, its accomplishments and its challenges, and to feel prepared to share these perspectives with friends and family. Water and granola bars are available on-site, and bringing a personal water bottle is recommended. Comfortable shoes, sun protection like hats and sunscreen, sunglasses, a portable fan, a camera, and something for taking notes can make the outing even better. Guests are welcome to post about their experience on social media and tag @nowandthentours with #nowandthentours. Both free and paid parking can be found around Kapiʻolani Park, and the Honolulu Zoo operates a large paid lot open to the public. Public restrooms are accessible along the route. Brief surveys are collected at the end to support ongoing improvements for Now & Then Tours Hawaiʻi. A 50% kamaʻāina discount is available.

An Evening with Fleetwood Mask

At Blue Note Hawaii, Fleetwood Mask delivers a meticulously crafted tribute to Fleetwood Mac, uniquely endorsed by founding member Mick Fleetwood, who has publicly praised the group for honoring the band’s legacy with care and precision. Formed over a decade ago and touring the United States every year since, the ensemble recreates the look, sound, and feel of the originals through character-true performances, detailed staging, and faithful sound. Authenticity is at the core of the production. Musicians perform with period-correct instruments, gear, and wardrobe, and at many performances the band incorporates original touring equipment and instruments once used onstage by Fleetwood Mac. The group’s penguin emblem was created by Larry Vigon, the designer behind landmark Fleetwood Mac album artwork and solo projects by Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham. The concert spans signature hits, beloved favorites, and deep cuts. The production may also spotlight distinct eras of the band’s history, with dedicated nods to the 1980 Tusk tour, the 1982 Mirage tour, and the 1997 The Dance reunion.

For safety, birds should be clipped, in a carrier, or on a harness so everyone returns home with their bird. For questions or help finding the group, call (808) 294-7382.
