Live music from Makenzie Phipps, a season 28 participant on The Voice, takes the Coca-Cola Stage before a grand fireworks finale as the 250th Anniversary is celebrated. A massive fireworks show produced by Pyrotecnico will launch from the top of Jackson Hill, featuring more than 1,500 effects in a variety of types, colors, and sizes, making it among the largest displays in Georgia. Rome Radio Partners will air a patriotic music simulcast to accompany the show. Parking is $5 and card only, with parking available in the main park and on the shoals side. Lee Edwards appears in The Screen Door Room, bringing three decades of music-making to a new chapter marked by two companion releases, Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. I and Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. II. Produced by Alan Lee Edwards and mixed by John Wood, known for his work with Nick Drake, Fairport Convention, John Cale, Squeeze, and Richard and Linda Thompson, the albums were recorded at Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville, North Carolina, engineered by Kenny Harrington, then mixed and mastered by the team at Well Made Music in Bristol, Tennessee, and pressed at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville. Vol. 1 offers a full band approach, while Vol. 2 strips the arrangements back and adds strings, and Vol. 1 also includes a guest appearance by Richard Thompson on John on the Run. The songs range from the down-home feel of Caroline and the momentum of Ride On to reflective pieces like John on the Run, Mom (Always Liked You), and How Blue.
