John Waite and John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band

John Waite takes the stage with a career-spanning set from his solo work and his years with The Babys and Bad English. The night draws on radio favorites from the 80s and 90s, including “Missing You,” “Isn’t It Time,” and “When I See You Smile,” along with “Tears,” “Change,” and “These Times Are Hard for Lovers.” Film credits include “Every Step of the Way” and “If Anybody Had a Heart” from About Last Night, and “Deal for Life” from Days of Thunder. His sound blends soaring ballads with driving arena rock, with occasional flashes of power pop that helped define rock radio across the late 70s and 80s. Sharing the bill, John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band bring a multi-platinum legacy that began in 1973 and broke wide with the Eddie & the Cruisers soundtrack. “On the Dark Side” topped the Billboard Rock and MTV video charts for five weeks, and the album earned triple Platinum status. Success continued with the title track of Tough All Over hitting number one on the Rock chart and “C-I-T-Y” reaching the Billboard Top 20. John Cafferty’s solo track “Hearts on Fire” was featured in Rocky IV, leading to a second double Platinum soundtrack award, and he has placed 35 songs in major films. The band remains active on the road, entered the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2012, issued a Greatest Hits collection in 2022 on Iconoclassic Records, and celebrated 50 years together with a new album in 2024. The pre-release single “Day in the Sun” appears in Peter Farrelly’s film Ricky Stanicky starring Zac Efron and John Cena.

Liberty & Legacy: An All-American Dinner Series

At Trilith Guesthouse, an evening of gathering, storytelling, and a carefully planned meal pays tribute to 250 years of American service through food, wine, and shared tradition. In partnership with Sub-Zero Group, the dinner supports Hire Heroes USA, a national nonprofit that helps veterans and military spouses transition into meaningful civilian careers. Executive Chef Jay Swift teams up with Sub-Zero corporate chefs to curate a multi-course tasting inspired by defining moments from the American table. Courses are prepared just a few steps from guests’ seats and unfold throughout the night, moving from coastal traditions and ballpark favorites to polished classics and desserts that tap into nostalgia. The 1776 sets the tone with Horse Soldier Bourbon, fresh citrus, Southern iced tea, and sparkling wine. The menu highlights include a chilled East Coast oyster with champagne mignonette, pickled shallot, and lemon, followed by a buttermilk cornbread bite with whipped sorghum butter, country ham dust, and pickled ramp. A mini Snake River Farms Wagyu dog with pickled green tomato relish, sweet Vidalia onion jam, whole grain mustard, and garden chives salutes the American ballpark and is paired with Rombauer Merlot from California. A pan-seared diver scallop arrives with smoked sweet corn purée, tomato gastrique, and young pea tendrils, matched with Orin Swift Mannequin Chardonnay from California. The great cookout theme continues with seared American Wagyu coulotte steak, preserved leek, Calabrian chili chimichurri, and charred spring vegetables, paired with Orin Swift Palermo Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Carolina Lowcountry flavors follow with roasted duck breast, creamed Carolina gold rice, herb-roasted chanterelles, and blackberry sauce, poured with Orin Swift Slander Pinot Noir from California. Dessert reimagines apple pie with compressed cinnamon apples, brown butter crumble, vanilla bean ice cream, and salted caramel, complemented by Orin Swift Abstract Red Blend from California. Each guest takes home a Kai Personal Folding Steak Knife. Its compact folding design and leather sheath make it easy to carry, and the 16° razor-sharp edge is crafted to slice cleanly while helping preserve juices and flavor, creating a keepsake that reflects the evening’s craftsmanship. Liberty & Legacy is a four-city culinary collaboration from Mainsail Lodging & Development and Sub-Zero Group that honors 250 years of American service. Everclear and Fastball at the Fred Amphitheater

Everclear and Fastball share the stage for a concert that highlights two enduring bands still creating with purpose. Everclear, formed in 1992 by founder, vocalist and guitarist Art Alexakis, brings a career spanning 11 studio releases, more than 6 million records sold, and 12 Top 40 singles across rock and alternative radio, including Santa Monica, Father of Mine, I Will Buy You A New Life, Wonderful, and Everything To Everyone. The band marked its 30th anniversary with a remastered deluxe edition of World of Noise, a commemorative retrospective hosted by Matt Pinfield, and a North American tour that produced the live album Live at The Whisky a Go Go featuring hits, deep cuts, and two new studio tracks. Alexakis, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2019, has continued to perform and has donated one dollar from every ticket purchased for his performances to charities such as Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society. He also launched the annual Summerland Tour and released the solo album Sun Songs. Fastball brings the chemistry and craft that guitarist Miles Zuniga, singer-guitarist Tony Scalzo, and drummer Joey Shuffield have refined over years of collaboration. Early, chart-topping success with The Way set the stage for a creative path centered on trust and inspiration, leading to a productive run that includes Step Into The Light, The Help Machine produced with Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, and 2022’s The Deep End. Their new self-titled album, recorded at Sonic Ranch Studio with producer David Garza, showcases an open-hearted approach that ranges from intimate solo-written songs to fresh textures like the groove-driven America. The trio emphasizes communication, shared vision, and a commitment to presenting new material alongside longtime favorites.
