Intro to Ayurveda

Discover the foundations of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, in an introductory session focused on understanding your unique dosha and what it signifies. Learn simple ways to support your mind and body through spring, summer, fall, and winter. The session explains Ayurveda as a 5,000-year holistic system that considers the whole person and the root of imbalance rather than only the symptoms. Often translated as the study of life, this approach helps reconnect to innate wisdom and the rhythms of nature through the five senses, the six tastes, everyday routines, thoughtful timing of movement, and the elemental makeup of earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Reflect on which habits help and which hinder, whether you feel nourished, and how to return to a sattvic state of balance by listening to the body instead of searching outward for every answer. Expect a dosha quiz, group discussion, a yoga and pranayama practice designed to balance the heat of summer pitta, and guidance on daily routines and recommended foods for the summertime season.
