Enjoy a day of golf, networking, and fun at River Pointe Golf Club. Teams compete in a four person scramble with a shotgun start, and registration with lunch takes place before play begins. The team entry is $400 and includes lunch. Cash awards are presented to the top three teams in each flight. Optional add ons include mulligans for $10 each, limited to one per nine holes, and a Red Bomb for $10, limited to one per player.

Welcome the season with live music by Stephen Harrell and the Dusty Boots Band, set alongside a beer and wine sampling bar. Attendees can choose to purchase tastings of craft beers and wines.

Friday Night Magic Commander

FNM Commander (EDH) at The Cool Place - Albany is a sanctioned event with a $5 entry, where $4 goes to the prize pool and $1 supports the shop. Every participant receives at least one promo, with additional prize support awarded to top finishers, and payouts are provided as store credit and or promos. Participation promos are drawn from Wizards of the Coast official Promo Packs that are shuffled and then randomly redistributed. Players are seated in pods of up to four or split as evenly as possible, and the event uses single elimination. Winners of each pod advance until a final winners pod plays out, and places one through four are determined. Gold Border cards are allowed. Proxies are not permitted, with no exceptions. A grace period of about 5 to 10 minutes is available for those who notify event staff of a late arrival or as a casual game is finishing. Arrivals after the start or beyond the grace window can still enter but will incur relevant round losses. Each game is timed at 1.5 hours. When time is called, the active player completes the current turn, then each other player takes one additional turn, after which the highest life total wins. When needed, remaining life totals are used to rank placements from highest to lowest. On occasion the event may be skipped if another program takes priority, such as a prerelease.

Cubs Program

Designed for children ages 3 and 4, this program at the Zoo invites little learners to explore through play and discovery. Each session features an interactive animal encounter, a craft activity, and a story focused on animals, all tailored to suit the interests and attention spans of this age group. Participation is covered by Zoo admission and is complimentary for members.

Food Truck Frenzy: Lunch Box Edition | May 2026

A celebration of street food and local creativity is coming to Downtown Albany. Sample a range of bites from local food trucks, then explore craft vendors showcasing handmade goods, art, and unique treasures. Vendors with licensed food trucks, as well as makers of handmade items and crafts, are welcome to inquire about participating. Food vendors must be properly licensed and permitted. Blakgraz brings a multi-genre showcase to Pretoria Fields Brewery in Albany, Georgia, delivering more than three hours of continuous music filled with singalongs, danceable grooves, surprise giveaways, and plenty of interactive moments. The set draws on a catalog of over 114 original songs and features six distinctive guitars, affectionately known as Tiff, Rosa, Betty, Stella, Chosette, and Sandy. Expect a wide stylistic range that sweeps from rock and blues to country, folk, jazz, pop, rap, and more, along with covers that audiences love. The project is led by Tom, whose creative approach has earned number one placements on MP3.com, national airplay, and performances alongside major touring acts. Since 2010, Blakgraz has released multiple albums including Lust and Soveran, with the 2025 project Rufus continuing that momentum. The single What If I Told You has surpassed 1.8 million online plays, and recent recognition includes eight nominations at the 2025 International Music Awards. Registration Open for the 26th Annual Juried Art Show

The Albany Area Arts Council invites artists 18 and older to submit work to the 26th Annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibition and Sale, a juried showcase regarded as the largest of its kind in the region. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces are eligible. Each artist may enter up to two works for a nonrefundable fee of $35. Entries are submitted through the online registration form, and all submissions must be received by the deadline.

Student Sculpture Workshop: Albany Turtles with Jack Hopkins

Designed for students in grades 3 to 8, this hands-on series is led by AMA Teen Art Board member Jack Hopkins, who has twice won the annual Southwest Georgia Student Art Exhibition. Working with homemade clay, participants learn core techniques for shaping and constructing as they create their own miniature Albany turtle sculptures inspired by the well-known turtle figures around the city. The series also introduces local turtle species and Albany’s natural environment, helping students connect their artwork to the world nearby. By the end, each participant will have a finished turtle sculpture ready to paint and take home. The $15 registration fee covers all three sessions, which take place over three consecutive weeks at the Albany Museum of Art.

Art Ball 2026: The Surreal

Art Ball 2026: The Surreal unfolds inside the former Belk department store in downtown Albany as the site prepares to become the future home of the Albany Museum of Art. Chaired by Meg Gentile and Jason Langer, the evening features an elegant meal with cocktails, live music from Mind Plays for dancing, and both live and silent auctions offering singular artworks, luxury experiences, and special packages. The program includes the Wayne & Alicia Gregory Family Foundation Paddle Raise in support of educational programming. Art Lovers Book club

Art lovers and readers gather bimonthly in the Willson Auditorium at the Albany Museum of Art for welcoming conversations about books and creativity. Meetings are free and open to everyone, and there is no formal membership requirement. Registration is free and helps ensure there is adequate seating. This session focuses on The Grand Affair: John Singer Sargent in His World by Paul Fisher. Studio sessions turn discoveries into original creations in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media while exploring how artists preserve history, communicate stories, and hide visual hints. 2026 Snapper Hunting - Overnight “Floating Date”

Head out for an overnight, two day spearfishing trip that begins on the reefs and moves into federal waters, with snapper as the main target and other species also in play. Participants can bring home a two day harvest. The schedule is flexible because federal for hire snapper dates can shift, and final timing will be confirmed with plenty of notice. This outing is intended for divers who already have spearfishing skills and is not a training session. Advanced scuba certification is required along with a spearfishing course or verifiable spearfishing experience. Diving will follow a buoy style approach. Meals and snacks are provided on the boat, while travel and personal expenses are not included. A $250 nonrefundable deposit secures a place. There is also a hint of a special perk, with a new speargun possibly awarded for the largest catch.

Knobby Knees Music Festival is a family-friendly outdoor celebration presented by Flint Riverkeeper, supporting efforts to protect and restore the Flint River’s habitat, water quality, and flow. The lineup spans multiple genres and features The Page Brothers, The Shelby Brothers, Parker Gispert and Band, and Kinchafoonee Cowboys. General admission is $20 and includes all performances plus access to food and drink vendors on the festival grounds. Attendees should bring a chair and leave pets and coolers at home. Whitetails Unlimited Lee County Chapter Annual Banquet

The Whitetails Unlimited Lee County Chapter Annual Banquet takes place at Hasan Shriner's Temple and features games, raffles, and a social hour, followed by a barbecue dinner with pork and chicken. Geared to business-minded kids in grades K through rising 9th grade who love art, this camp combines creative skill-building with hands-on entrepreneurship. Over the course of the week, participants team up to turn an idea into an art-based venture. They create personal logos and business cards, design and make original products, choose pricing, plan marketing, and assemble packaging and displays that attract attention. The week finishes with a marketplace where campers sell what they made for cash and practice real customer interactions.
