FNM Commander (EDH) at The Cool Place - Albany is a sanctioned event with a $5 entry, where $4 goes to the prize pool and $1 supports the shop. Every participant receives at least one promo, with additional prize support awarded to top finishers, and payouts are provided as store credit and or promos. Participation promos are drawn from Wizards of the Coast official Promo Packs that are shuffled and then randomly redistributed. Players are seated in pods of up to four or split as evenly as possible, and the event uses single elimination. Winners of each pod advance until a final winners pod plays out, and places one through four are determined. Gold Border cards are allowed. Proxies are not permitted, with no exceptions. A grace period of about 5 to 10 minutes is available for those who notify event staff of a late arrival or as a casual game is finishing. Arrivals after the start or beyond the grace window can still enter but will incur relevant round losses. Each game is timed at 1.5 hours. When time is called, the active player completes the current turn, then each other player takes one additional turn, after which the highest life total wins. When needed, remaining life totals are used to rank placements from highest to lowest. On occasion the event may be skipped if another program takes priority, such as a prerelease.

Designed for students in grades 3 to 8, this hands-on series is led by AMA Teen Art Board member Jack Hopkins, who has twice won the annual Southwest Georgia Student Art Exhibition. Working with homemade clay, participants learn core techniques for shaping and constructing as they create their own miniature Albany turtle sculptures inspired by the well-known turtle figures around the city. The series also introduces local turtle species and Albany’s natural environment, helping students connect their artwork to the world nearby. By the end, each participant will have a finished turtle sculpture ready to paint and take home. Head out for an overnight, two day spearfishing trip that begins on the reefs and moves into federal waters, with snapper as the main target and other species also in play. Participants can bring home a two day harvest. The schedule is flexible because federal for hire snapper dates can shift, and final timing will be confirmed with plenty of notice. This outing is intended for divers who already have spearfishing skills and is not a training session. Advanced scuba certification is required along with a spearfishing course or verifiable spearfishing experience. Diving will follow a buoy style approach. Meals and snacks are provided on the boat, while travel and personal expenses are not included. A $250 nonrefundable deposit secures a place. There is also a hint of a special perk, with a new speargun possibly awarded for the largest catch.

Designed for children ages 3 and 4, this Zoo program offers age-appropriate activities including an interactive animal encounter, a craft, and a story about animals.
