Oviedo Mall's Community Classroom | What Does It Take to Get The Right Shot?

Explore what truly elevates a photograph in a candid, conversation-style session with award-winning wildlife and nature photographer Simone Amaduzzi. Rather than focusing on camera settings or equipment, he shares the stories, missteps, lessons, and field experiences that shaped his craft, supported by compelling images. Hear about the mindset that leads to remarkable shots, the central role of patience, anticipating moments before they unfold, and finding creative solutions when plans change. The takeaways are practical and ready to use for photographers at any experience level. Amaduzzi’s eye was formed early while traveling with his father, a Formula 1 photojournalist, where he learned patience and careful observation. That foundation guided a career devoted to capturing rare, authentic moments in nature, with recognition that includes UCP Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2023 and 2024 and UCP Nature Photographer of the Year in 2025. He emphasizes authenticity, believing the strongest images are not manufactured, they are witnessed. Each frame carries a story that starts with showing up, paying attention, and waiting for the moment that cannot be repeated. This free program welcomes seasoned shooters, curious hobbyists, and anyone who appreciates visual storytelling.

Free Curator Tour

Get an inside look at the exhibition a loom, a fence, a wire, a thread through a tour led by Chief Curator Dan L. Hess that follows the show’s path from early ideas and making to the curatorial choices that shape its installation. After the walkthrough, continue the conversation with free food. Attend with a friend or a date, or come on your own to connect with others who share an interest in art. The exhibition features new work by Mär Martinez, a Syrian American artist and Fulbright scholar, created during her 2025–26 Fulbright research in Istanbul. Her project explores traditional Turkish and Middle Eastern textile techniques alongside themes of urbanization, surveillance, and cultural memory. Informed by late-night walks through Istanbul’s neighborhoods, she reimagines architectural barriers, including barbed wire, fences, and other forms of hostile design, within a textile-inspired visual language that underscores resistance and renewal. Evocative wood paintings weave together personal heritage, world textile histories, and contemporary social reflection in layered, poetic compositions. Admission is free and a cash bar will be available.

SIB Linda’s La Cantina Hdcp Doubles

This doubles bowling tournament features a fast, cut-driven format. Teams bowl four games on the same pair of lanes to start, with the top quarter advancing as cashers and scores resetting for the next stage. In the cashers round, teams roll one additional doubles game, half the field advances, and scores reset again. One final game then determines the finishing order. The entry fee is $100 per team, $50 per person. Youth participation is not permitted under USBC Rule 400. Handicap is 70% of 230. Averages are based on the highest current Bowl.com average with at least 21 games for 2025 to 2026, or if none, the highest 2024 to 2025 yearbook average with at least 21 games on Bowl.com. If needed, up to three prior seasons of book averages will be reviewed. Without an eligible average, bowlers compete scratch. If a bowler is 10 pins or more higher or lower than the previous season, a composite average will be used. The tournament director may rerate a player’s average, and after participation in six handicap events, averages are subject to review for a possible rerate. The minimum entering average is 110. If a team pays and does not attend, the entry fee is forfeited. The lane condition is modified, and the cash ratio is 1 in 4. Side action options include $5 handicap singles brackets and $5 scratch singles brackets, $10 handicap and $10 scratch high game pots, $25 optional scratch singles, $25 optional handicap singles, $25 optional senior singles, $25 optional women’s singles, and a $25 SIB All In Pot. The field is capped at 44 teams. Spots may be reserved with prepayment or a $20 per team deposit. Payments can be made through Venmo or PayPal to reduce cash transactions. SIB DV8 Over 50/ Under 50 Doubles

A doubles bowling tournament built for mixed-age teams pairs one bowler under 50 with one over 50. The format begins with four doubles games on the same pair of lanes, then the top quarter of the field advances as cashers with no pinfall carrying forward. Cashers roll one additional doubles game and the top half moves on, again with no carryover. A single game in the final decides all finishing positions. The handicap is 70 percent of 230, the lane condition is modified, and the cash ratio pays 1 in 4. Youth bowlers are not eligible under USBC Rule 400. The entry fee is $100 per team, or $50 per person. Optional side action includes $5 handicap and scratch singles brackets, $10 handicap and scratch high game options, $25 scratch singles, $25 handicap singles, $25 senior singles, $25 women’s singles, and a $25 SIB All In Pot. A minimum entering average of 110 is required. The highest current average with at least 21 games from the 2025–2026 season will be used; if none, the highest 2024–2025 yearbook average with at least 21 games applies; if still unavailable, averages from up to the previous three years will be considered. If no average is found, the player competes scratch. If a current average is 10 pins higher or lower than the prior season, a composite average will be established. The tournament director may re-rate a player’s average, and after participation in six handicap events, averages may be reviewed again. The field is limited to 44 teams, and spots can be held with prepayment or a $20 team deposit, with electronic payment options available. Paid entries that do not attend will forfeit the fee. B. Dalton’s Romantasy Book Club

B. Dalton's Romantasy Book Club will discuss Starside by Alex Aster, a tale of gods, sorcery, and a vengeance-fueled mission. Aris steps through gates that open only once every fifty years between Stormside and the magical realm of Starside, where a group of fifty is selected to compete. Many pursue wealth, influence, or healing, but her purpose is retribution for a goddess's destruction of her home and family. To reach the deities, she must endure the ruthless Culling, claim a legendary blade, and battle heirs, fighters, and assassins who want her gone. On the far side of the gates she encounters relentless threats, from immortals and roaming ancient creatures to horrors that rise after dark, and she may have to rely on Harlan Raker, a king's guard whose earlier betrayal still lingers. As hidden truths surface and old hurts are exposed, Aris finds that payback might be the least of the dangers waiting in Starside.

Ariella & Nicolaas

At Blue Bamboo, husband-and-wife duo Ariella & Nicolaas share a blend of blue-eyed soul shaped by jazz, blues, and subtle world influences. Ariella McManus’s rich, smoky vocals pair with Nicolaas Kraster’s expressive, Spanish-tinged guitar to create performances that feel intimate and powerful at once. Their sound nods to contemporary favorites like Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse while drawing on the legacy of Etta James, Patsy Cline, Roy Buchanan, Al di Meola, and Paco de Lucía. On stage, her barefoot ease and vibrant presence balance his cool precision and virtuosity, a chemistry honed over more than 15 years of making music together. Their path has taken them around the world, from the Blue Note in New York City to The Voodoo Room in Edinburgh, sharing stages with acclaimed artists along the way. In 2023 they served as guest artists and instructors at Victor Wooten’s Music and Nature Camp, with Wooten praising them as among his favorite duos and producer Fabrice Dupont recognizing Ariella as a classic voice for today. A stripped-back approach brings every lyric and note into sharp focus. That honesty has fueled swift growth, from 6,000 to 250,000 online followers in just four months in 2023 and now a global community surpassing 500,000. Audiences frequently rise to their feet... sometimes even in tears... as the music lands with heart and soul.

Skweezy appears live for a special screening followed by an exclusive Q&A and meet and greet. This one-night engagement takes place in auditorium 5, and there will be no trailers before the feature. The film follows internet oddball Skweezy Jibbs as he sets out to make his dream movie, a wild mashup that nods to high-impact action, provocative dance, towering robots, and fast-paced street racing, all while having no budget, no experience, and no filmmaking know-how. What could possibly go wrong?

Messages from Spirit: A Sacred Circle with Philip DeLong

There are times when the world feels a little more permeable and love seems to reach across time and space to remind us we are not alone. In this intimate sacred message circle, Rev. Philip DeLong guides a small group into an atmosphere of connection, healing, and spiritual insight. Through his relationship with Spirit, he serves as a conduit for messages that may come from loved ones in Spirit, spiritual guides, and the Angelic Realm. Whether the intention is comfort, validation, guidance, or simple curiosity about what lies beyond ordinary perception, this gathering offers a warm and welcoming space to experience the wisdom and care that Spirit often shares. Philip’s path began in childhood with a natural affinity for metaphysics and crystals, and it was profoundly expanded by a Near-Death Experience that opened him to guidance from Spirit and the Angelic Realm. His approach honors the idea that Spirit can illuminate the way, while each person shapes what comes next through choice, awareness, and free will. Attendance is limited to 8 participants to support a deeply personal experience, and many find that insights shared for one person resonate with everyone present, fostering a strong sense of community. Bring an open heart, and leave with renewed hope and clarity. Advance registration is required, and refunds are not available. Every participant will be part of the experience, though specific personal messages cannot be guaranteed.
