These time-honored rituals used mineral-rich waters, herbs, flowers, oils, clays, and salts to support relaxation, purification, muscle and joint comfort, skin health, nervous system ease, fever care, circulation, and reproductive wellness. Modern bath bombs grew from these practices, with their trademark fizz created when citric acid and baking soda meet water and release carbon dioxide. Guided practice includes humidity management, choosing binding agents, balancing oil-to-powder ratios, proper mold compression, and effective drying and curing to prevent cracking, expansion, or crumbling. Dunedin CausewayAuditions: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
Richey Suncoast Theatre will hold auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Performers ages 6 and older are invited, no prior stage experience is required, and every role is open. This is a volunteer opportunity with no pay. Auditions, most rehearsals, and performances will take place at the theater. Free street parking is available, please avoid the small lot behind the building because vehicles may be towed, and enter through the main lobby doors. Prepare to read from the script and present about 16 bars or roughly one minute of a song in a similar style from another show. You may sing a cappella or use a backing track on your own device. A monologue is optional. The production emphasizes physical storytelling, so candidates should be in strong condition and comfortable with bold movement and expressive acting. Some roles may include climbing, working on elevated structures, or wearing large or restrictive costumes that limit visibility and movement. The team is seeking collaborative actors and singers who bring energy, color, enthusiasm, and truthful comedic timing. A performer close in age to Charlie Bucket is sought, able to play approximately 9 to 13, with young-looking older teens considered. The four other child characters are traditionally portrayed by adults or older teens, though younger performers may still be considered, and adults are welcome to audition for those roles. Expect up to 25 rehearsals before tech and performances, with the schedule set after casting to reflect availability. Tech week is required for all participants and may run late each night as the full show is run. List any potential scheduling conflicts on the required online form since casting and rehearsal plans are shaped by that information. Submit the audition form on the day you plan to audition by the stated deadline.

Create a custom hat at a summer workshop hosted at Caledonia Brewing in Dunedin, with two formats offered in the same session. Choose the classic hat bar with burning or opt for the hat painting workshop. The brewery operates in the historic 1925 Dunedin Times building and produces small batch craft beer using natural and organic ingredients, with occasional local guest taps. The experience is designed for beginners and experienced makers alike, with step by step guidance from For the Love of Hats. A generous selection of materials will be on hand, including ribbons, embellishments, leather cord, decorative pins, dried florals, charms, and feathers, so each piece can be personalized. Each ticket includes one hat, guidance for burning, and five accessories, with styles available such as vegan suede rancher flat brims, sun hats, and western suede cowboy designs. Additional add ons can be purchased during class. Those choosing the painting option will finalize hat selections in advance at least seven days prior to the workshop. This is an RSVP event with only 15 spots available. Payment confirms a reservation, and all supplies are pre ordered. There are no refunds, and reservations may be transferred if the ticket is used within six months of the original booking. On arrival, participants check in with Joelle and Chris, select a hat, settle in with a drink if they wish, then choose ribbons and accessories with placement guidance before assembling their hats. The session concludes with checkout for any extras and a group photo.
