Central FL Tournament

The Central FL Tournament takes place at Osceola Science Charter School and features both individual and team testing. Teams consist of up to five students from the same school in grades 3 to 4, 5 to 6, or 7 to 8, and teams may include students from different grades. Each team is evaluated at the level of its highest grade member, while every student also completes individual tests aligned to their own grade. Individual rounds have 15 questions in 30 minutes, and team rounds have 10 questions in 20 minutes. The entry fee is $15 per student. A full team has five students, but smaller teams may participate and individual scores will still count toward the team total. T-shirts are available for an additional $15.

Settle in at the Denny’s restaurant for an instructor-led, 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement class that includes dinner. The cost is $50, payable in cash at the door, and it covers both the course and a meal. This is the official FLHSMV 4-hour BDI course, offered in a helpful, comfortable setting. There are no exams, and a certificate of completion is provided before you leave. Bring your driver’s license and, if relevant, your traffic ticket or court documents. The class can be taken for one purpose at a time, either to keep points off a license or to seek an auto insurance discount, and discount eligibility should be confirmed with the insurer. Capybaras at Sunset

Experience the preserve as it comes alive at sunset with unforgettable animal encounters, highlighted by an up-close visit with the capybara family. A limited number of guests begin with a complimentary sun-downer drink at check-in and a chance to meet some of the preserve’s animal ambassadors, then continue on a relaxed walk with stops to see many residents. Highlights include the barnyard and capybara exhibits, offering hands-on interactions with friendly goats, pigs, and donkeys along with dedicated time with the capybaras. Keeping Backyard Chickens

Attend an in-person class to discover how to keep chickens for fun and for egg production. Topics include chicken breeds, raising chicks, designing coops and pens, plus chicken health and nutrition. Completion of this class meets the educational requirements for the St. Cloud Backyard Chicken Keeping Program, as well as requirements for other Central Florida city and county urban chicken programs. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation, and one ticket covers all household members.

Young athletes can develop confidence and real golf skills at a half-day Nike Junior Golf Camp held at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links in St. Cloud, Florida. Led by Camp Director Coach Roger, the coed program welcomes ages 8 to 17, including complete beginners and kids trying the sport for the first time. Coaching covers the full game, from putting and short-game fundamentals to chipping, pitching, bunker work, and full-swing development, along with on-course strategy and guidance on etiquette, focus, and confidence. Campers are grouped by age and ability to foster a supportive setting, and instruction takes place in small groups with an approximately 1 to 8 staff to player ratio. DEKA MILE Hosted by Team BLUFOR - St Cloud, FL

St Cloud is set for a new fitness challenge presented by Spartan DEKA and Team BLUFOR, created to test your abilities, make training fun, and celebrate progress. The DEKA MILE format includes ten functional training zones, with a 160 meter run before each zone for a total of one mile of running. Participants can compete to earn a DEKA MILE mark and use it as a starting point as they prepare for DEKA FIT 2026. Space is limited.
