Her credentials include a BA in music from Arcadia University, a certificate in theological studies from Andover Newton Theological School, and an MBA in global management from the University of Phoenix. She serves as board chair for the Foxborough Universalist Church in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and is beginning an MFA in visual arts at Clark University. Talk Art!: The State of Florida

Artist Bill Gallagher, based in New Smyrna Beach, leads a conversation about his practice and the themes in his exhibition. Known for vivid, story-rich oil paintings that weave contemporary life with the enduring spirit of Florida’s landscapes, he will explore the inspirations behind his expansive cloudscapes, glowing color choices, and the small human moments that unfold beneath wide, expressive skies. The talk considers the dynamic between people and the scale of nature, recasting surfers and skaters, quiet café scenes, and a child’s first steps toward the ocean as modern American stories. Hear directly from the artist, learn about his process, and connect with the narratives that bring these scenes to life.

Exploring Stories in Faces, Flora, and Fauna Workshop with Taylor Robenalt

Presented in partnership with the Museum of Art, DeLand, Jane’s Art Center offers a hands-on clay workshop led by visiting artist Taylor Robenalt that focuses on telling personal stories through faces, animals, and botanical forms. Under Robenalt’s guidance, participants explore coil, pinch, and slab handbuilding while creating small sculptures that convey emotion and narrative, drawing on themes such as memory, love, or grief. Projects may begin with a simple base like a head or an animal and develop into layered pieces through detail and texture. Each day begins with a demonstration in which Robenalt shares her process, studio practices, and construction methods as she builds her own sculpture. Afternoons are devoted to making, with individualized support as concepts and forms take shape. Kids Aerial Yoga Camp (June)

At Kula Yoga Studios, this kids aerial yoga camp creates a playful, supportive space where children use colorful hammocks to build body awareness, coordination, confidence, and strength while having fun. Michele Guess, ERYT500 and CPR certified, an experienced yoga and aerial yoga instructor, leads the group and provides attentive care. Practices cultivate proprioception, or knowing where the body is in space, and encourage emotional regulation through movement, breath, and mindfulness. Activities include guided aerial yoga, partner poses, yoga-based movement and mindfulness, calming hammock meditations and relaxation, and time for a healthy snack that is not sugary along with free play. The camp welcomes children ages 7 and up, and no prior yoga or aerial experience is needed. Campers must be able to follow group instructions, stay focused, and use the hammock safely. For the safety of all, anyone who is not following directions or acting unsafely may be asked to sit out.

Mythical Creatures & Magical Worlds Summer Art Camp

A week-long summer art camp invites young artists to build fantastical worlds through hands-on creativity. Designed for ages 6–11, the experience blends sculpture, drawing, and imaginative design to nurture confidence, problem solving, and self expression. Throughout the week, campers sculpt mythical creatures in clay, from dragons to original inventions, paying close attention to texture and expressive detail. They chart their own fantasy maps with labeled realms, woodland areas, and other enchanted landmarks. They also craft wands or amulets using materials such as cardboard, foil, beads, and paint, and explore basic paper mechanisms to create pop-up castles or enchanted forests that open into lively, three-dimensional scenes. The Hub on Canal hosts the camp in a welcoming, inclusive setting that celebrates imagination. Participants are encouraged to think big, spin stories, and proudly share the worlds they create. Open to students entering grades 1–6. The camp fee is $175. Registration is nonrefundable. If a child cannot attend, the fee will be treated as a donation to The Hub on Canal and directed to future student scholarships. For arrival and dismissal, a parent or legal guardian must sign children in and out each day. Please give advance notice for any early or late drop-off or pick-up, provide the full names of all authorized adults, and note that anyone other than a parent or guardian will need a valid photo ID at pick-up.
