MIAMIsFF- Summer shorts ~ Moonrise Screening 6 PM

Miami short Film Festival presents Summer Shorts: Moonrise Screening at O Cinema South Beach, a five-film narrative program from the United States and Canada with a total running time of 81 minutes. Consider the Lilies, directed by Cristina Spina, is a 22 minute 30 second portrait of a grieving woman who wanders into a luxury open house in Brooklyn, feels an unexpected bond with the space, and slips on a pair of designer heels. Patina, directed by Jake Hull and running 11 minutes 54 seconds, follows 12 year old Jackson at his grandfather’s 84th birthday celebration as he meets a larger than life woman named Patina, time begins to twist, and hidden stories surface in overlooked places. Cast Away Sorta, a 17 minute 1 second short by Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, offers a comedic take on the Tom Hanks classic as a single talent agent stuck at home during 18 months of Covid lockdown happens to represent Hanks, sparking a compact adventure. All That Rumbles, directed by Eve Saint-Louis and clocking in at 14 minutes 53 seconds, unfolds on a winter night in 2001 when siblings from two families go tobogganing. Good Manners Group Dog Training Class

Does your dog listen perfectly at home, then forget everything once you step outside? This group training class helps dogs and their owners build better focus, calmer leash skills, and more reliable manners in real-world settings. It is a good fit for beginner and adolescent dogs, dogs currently in training, and dogs who struggle around distractions. Participants practice loose leash walking, staying engaged when distractions are present, calm behavior in public, clearer communication between dog and handler, and practical obedience for everyday life. The emphasis is not on perfection or robotic responses, and the goal is to help handlers feel more confident navigating daily situations with their dogs. The cost is $45 per dog. Up to date proof of rabies vaccination is required to attend. Class sizes are kept small with hands-on coaching, so space is limited.

Big Feelings (Reactivity) Group Dog Training Class

This small-group training class is designed for dogs who find the world a bit much. It supports dogs who bark or lunge on leash, become overly stimulated around other dogs, people, bikes, or movement, struggle to remain calm in public settings, or shut down, freeze, or panic outside. It is not a free-for-all social session. Group size stays intentionally limited so each dog can work safely, remain under threshold, and build confidence at a manageable pace. Participants learn improved leash handling, how to spot early signs before reactions build, practical coping tools for reactivity, strategies to maintain engagement and focus around triggers, and everyday handling techniques that make walks smoother. Dogs stay leashed at all times, with thoughtful spacing for safety and success. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. The fee is $75 per dog, and space is very limited due to the hands-on format. The aim is to help dogs and their handlers feel calmer, safer, and more confident as they navigate the world together.
